2018 rockets - "they won because CP3 was injured" (dismantled a fully healthy rockets team in 6 games in 2019 despite being depleted in the last 2 games. get to the Finals but lost to Toronto Raptors)
2021 Lilliard - "Curry will struggle coz he doesn't have a stacked roster and KD this time" (proceeded to score 62 pts on them and averaged 32 pts a game with teammates still learning the system and whatnot. Carried them to 8th seed but lost in the play-in)
2022 - still full of doubters. "can't carry a team. washed. won't get to the finals. can't perform in the Finals," etc. (proceeded to break the record for all-time three-point record. put a show in the All-Star Game with 16 3s and won the MVP award. won Magic Johnson MVP award in WCF. Get to the Finals and won in 6 games and won Finals MVP erasing all the narrative)

Curry's offensive game and influence is unmatched and he has cemented himself as a top 15 and almost cemented top 10 player of all time, but it's worth noting that he was able to do what he did with the second greatest shooter of all time and the most versatile defender of our generation. When he didn't have them, he didn't win anything. 2021 without him and 2022 with him (even tho he was inconsistent) proved that klay's impact may just be as important as curry's, hence why they couldn't make the play in without him. Curry's floor raising ability isn't as good as like a russ or a harden in their primes (imo) but anybody would rather choose curry to team up with and win a title. We'll never know what these player's careers would be like if they switched spots, but hey life isn't fair.

What exactly is he supposed to win without them?
      What did Lebron win without:
      - A top 3 SG all time and a top tier PF in Miami?
      - Top 5 PG today and another top tier PF in Cleveland?
      - Arguably most versatile big of all time in LA?
      -Jordan without Pippen
      -Kareem without Oscar/Magic
      -Shaq without Kobe/Wade
      -Kobe without Gasol/Odom
      I can go on.
We've seen these consensus top 10 players all time play without adequate help, and in every scenarios, they didn't win.
What's makes Steph different? Not to mention Klay shot the worst of his career in this year's Finals - far from a top 2 shooter performance, and Draymond played horribly the first 4 games. Didn't hold Curry back in the slightest.
Also, if you put Russ or Harden in that spot, it's an entirely different offense. They need the ball in their hands to be most dangerous. Steph is most dangerous moving off ball, along with his teammates. Its a near perfect flow of ball/player movement to create open shots.
Team basketball at its finest, and that, along with great team defense, (something Curry gives more effort than Russ and Harden in), is why they win.
What are they gonna say now?

@@anf9311 lol lebron went to the finals on two different occasions with make a wish kids on his roster. Or did we just forget 2007 and 2018 (11 year difference btw if u can't add) never happened. All great players need a great team around them to win it all, even lebron, but lebron (i never brought him up but anyway) was always able to make more with less better than any other player ever, hence why i think he's the greatest of all time. Lebron was so good that he could never get adequate help in the draft because they were in the late round every year since his 3rd season in the league. But again, I'm not trying to take anything away from steph, but i also believe people are putting steph in discussions he doesn't belong. I already said that harden and russ are better floor raisers imo but steph is the player u can insert in any situation and win a chip with since he doesn't need the rock to influence the game. In 2021, however, klay not being there forced steph to go into god mode and although he put up crazy mvp-type numbers, his floor without klay only went up to not even making the playoffs because he's not and never has been a plus defender (not a liability but teams head hunt him for a reason). So, even when he's putting up 30, he's also giving up that much too. Furthermore, even when klay was bricking, he has that effect like steph where even if they're trash, their influence is so immense that they still open up the offense for other people. I'm happy for curry for finally getting the fmvp he deserves, for he had to carry the load when his counterparts were selling, although he has always had a luxury of not showin up and still winning throughout his career (such as game 5 this very series)

Damn, the narrative might have changed and people could actually vouch for KD pairing with Lebron as a fair means to stop the Warriors juggernaut, I mean two top-5 players pairing to stop a 73-9 monster would sound more acceptable as compared to what actually panned out. So many equations, so many possibilities. People have unfair criticisms of all these three legends. That's what all-time greats within the same era can do to each other. • @Saltyahole
      @Saltyahole ปีที่แล้ว

My opinion, Steph would likely have a relatively firm grip on consensus number 2 in the GOAT debate. He revolutionized the game just as much as Jordan AND he finishes the unanimous MVP 73-9 with a championship (and a finals MVP ideally). That puts him at 2 if everything else is at least close to the same (still gets the 3 point record, still has 4 championships currently, etc…)
I think a better question is what does that do to Lebron? If he gets one in Cleveland I think he’s still good…(maybe like 3rd in the GOAT debate to Steph’s 2nd in this exact scenario).
Lebron has all the counting stats! He is a physical and genetic freak, second best set of genes in history to only Wilt…but I mean…Steph IS GOLDEN STATE. Others join him.
Lebron is Lebron. He joins others. I’m not trying to sound critical. I recognize Lebron is also great. And as things actually stand today, Lebron is 2 in the GOAT debate, not Curry.
Imo KD is nowhere near this type of discussion. Because greatness isn’t just about physical tools and skills…it’s also about winning, changing/revolutionizing/impacting the game…which is all LEGACY.
Not trying to disrespect KD. But he definitely needs to win one outside of Golden State.

That 2017 team was stacked and the championship does not seem important. However, Curry makes that team broken. The 2016 Thunder and 2017 Spurs were good too, but Curry made that team that great. Steve Kerr’s system based on the Triangle made that team great. That team played All-time basketball. Just because it’s not hard doesn’t mean that the dominant team isn’t impressive. Also, be should be noted that every team has injuries in its run and winning is difficult. Curry’s play shows for itself. The teams great team basketball shows for itself.

We can hate all we want on the KD Warriors but both parties walked away winning, injuries aside. KD injected new life into the Warriors dynasty, KD and Steph both walked away with 2 rings apiece, 3 total for Steph Klay Dray and Iggy. And a boost in everyone’s legacies. I agree that the rings they won were very much expected and props on getting the job done but they were 100% expected.
Now, fast forward to today, like Steph says, “What they gon say now?!” Steph is that dude and a legend alongside LeBron James. 4x time champions the both of them and the best players of their generation. Can’t compare anyone to these 2 in terms of accomplishments and legacy right now.
