Hi Brandy, I like to send my 2 cents of immigrant experience: 1) don't always make comparison the daily life with HKG, reset your mind set to accept the new life you and your girlfriend chose. 2) adjust your daily life slow down to match the local life, take time reset the right food step to fit you and your girlfriend. Late on you will feel better and love it. 3) try to enjoy the slow quiet pace life in Canada, also enjoy more your family life with your the other half. 4) take time you will make more friends ( locals, or local Chinese), remember try to adapt and respect their local culture first, also don’t use HKG mind set to make friends. Try to slow down adjusting to local style. 5) both o you still young, try to setup goals to advice your job career, such as find a adult school to improve your English level then go in to part time college (find a professional subject to study) , you two will have a bright future. 6) don't easy give up the life you have now and think about return. Hope above points can help you two stay in Canada successfully. 🇨🇦 Good luck...
I totally agree with you. Oversea life is very different than HK but Brandy can keep himself extremely busy by engaging in activities with interest groups and learning new skills, it's an adjustment but he will get used to it. Pick something he likes, make new friends and develop new skills, that's the way of life in America, he might not be able to see his friends face to face but there's always Zoom and Facetime to connect with friends in HK. I am learning Spanish, Photography and Photoshop online and doing a lot of volunteer work since retirement. I have also joined a photography group and we travel to local areas to take pictures. I thought life will be boring after retirement but I am busier than ever. Brandy is in Canada, he needs to adjust to American life and please don't compare to life in HK, he needs to adjust and adapt. Canada is not ever going to be like HK but that doesn't mean it's worse, it's just different and Brandy needs to embrace the change.
Totally agree! Great sharing. We came here 32+ years ago. Gave up everything from HK and adapted a new life here. Go back to school and learn something that’s good for future. We both able to find mainstream jobs here as our English is ok which I think it’s most important. Keep up! You’ve never regret of coming here. Canada is a great place, most people are gentle and with good value, it’s much better than HK or that “strong country “.
Listen there two immigrants, life is too short let them enjoy beginnings and go with the flow , happy is more important than all material I have seen many not succeed so relax take it easy, especially don't expect too much in life.
Brandy, Toronto is the right place for you then. Some people say Toronto is boring but I have been living in Toronto for over 33 years and I still love it as the quality of life in Toronto/Canada is good.
Toronto has a lot of attractions and things to do, especially during Sumner months. Right now there is cherry blossom in High Park. You can take a ferry to tour Toronto Islands and also can do BBQ in Central island. You can take a ferry from Toronto ferry dock. Can walk along the waterfront on Queens Quay West to enjoy the nice view of lake Ontario. There are live music performance on Saturday and Sunday afternoon and is free in Waterfront too. The exhibition Place where CNE is held and air show as well as Honda Indy car race. Lots of other things like taste of Danford etc. Lots activities waiting for you to explore and enjoy.
That's Trinity-Bellwoods. You can also check out High Park, which is even bigger. There's also a smaller place called Christie Pits on Bloor (near KoreaTown)
OMG, you are surprised about everything in Toronto.. You will be shock to see the abundance of wilderness, golf course, beaches, bays and openness if you come to Australia. They cost you nothing to visit unlike Xiang Gang. Sydney Australia.
Hey Brandy! You went to Trinity Bellwoods Park, a beautiful green space that is very popular during the summer. On a day with good weather, the area is filled with cyclists, pedestrians, and many people who just sit on the grass with friends. I am so glad you enjoyed my neighbourhood. Come back soon! Thanks for sharing your experiences of moving to and living in Toronto. I was born in Hong Kong (Mei Foo Sun Chuen) but grew up in Toronto, so I find your videos quite interesting. I look forward to more of your and MeiMei’s videos. Have a great day!
Brandy, Toronto got alot of nice places to visit and also is a very nice city, and you should explore more places to visit and know more foreign friends to practice your English, my brother told me there's a lake which is located in Kingston Road, Scarborough, is very nice for hiking, check it out! Support your video and carry on!
Beaches area is very busy ,along Kingston Rd., take the Queen street car and you can stop at some coffee shops to enjoy the afternoon. People watching. High Park will be ready this wked for the cherry blossoms. Soon Toronto Island will be busy once again.
Brandy, U're right! Just try to step out to difference places to explore City of Tornoto! Whenever U both have a vehicle later on, You both life style will be totally difference cause could travelling around by vehicle like Niagara Falls, Waterloo, Montreal and Quebec City even drive through border to New York City...... So much fun!! Step by step and keep it up :)
I've moved away from Toronto but I have lived and studied there. It's refreshing to see Toronto from your eyes and discover new places from a newcomer perspective. Keep it up!
Brandy, you were strolling through Trinity Bellwoods Park, a huge greenspace between Dundas Street West and Queen Street West. Ossington between Dundas West and Queen West is a "hip" neighbourhood, while it's a mature community with single family dwellings, newly constructed condos along Queen Street West have attracted restaurants, coffee shops and independent retailers to this area. There's a lot of "buzz" after dark, as the area comes alive with the 25-39 age group. Enjoy the abundant green space that Toronto offers. Queen Street West between Ossington and University Avenue is also walkable, feast your eyes on retail storefronts and the local streetscape as you stroll along the sidewalk with MeiMei. Enjoy spring, summer and fall seasons in Toronto.
There are many museums like ROM and Casa Lola in downtown area. Talk about having a dog, it cost about 2k annually for food, toy, checkups regular drugs. Insurance extra. Suggest get your from rescue, that is really helping them. We got ours from fetch and release. There is one dedicated for golden retriever too. But do your research first. One of the rescue was just shutting down by city due bad business conduct. Good luck

For your information : each time the Presto card use for TTC transits (subway/bus/streetcar) is valid for 2 hrs, means no matter how many trips on-off vehicles, fare is still one charge in that 2-hr period.
Take Mei Mei to Harbourfront/Queens Quay area when weather is warm. I'm sure both of you will have a great time. It's not too far from Dundas and Bay area.
Hey Brandy that is trinity bellwood park it usually gets really busy in the summer...i also highly recommend you checkout the waterfront Trillium Park the view is BEAUTIFUL!!! :) I live downtown Toronto too hopefully we will run into each other on the street....Keep up the good work!

Thank you for sharing🙆🏻♂️🙏🏻✨✨✨All the best to you!✨🙆🏻♂️

Work-life balance 是culture 和心態。

Scarborough Bluffs
Thank you for sharing🙆🏻♂️🙏🏻✨✨✨
Thank you🙆🏻♂️🙏🏻✨✨✨

Thank you🙆🏻♂️🙏🏻✨✨✨
