Got a bike too, but it was snowing so I stayed in playing the PS1. One of the top 3 best days of my entire life. Much scarier too it scared the hell out of me when I was younger this and Silent Hill I think it was the darkness and horrible monsters plus it looked way more like a haunted mansion than RE mansion

I had a friend at age 6 or 7 whose parents alowed him to play many kinds of games and watch many kinds of movies I then didn't bare to even touch, but THIS game is the only thing that even got him to having heavy nightmares...the left an impression on me years later we played the intro together and I finally understood...

It came with a guide for this game, as requested by many readers apparentely. I didn't know a thing about Alone in the Dark, but the way they presented that guide (beautifully illustrated, lots of screenshots) literally sold me on the game. Bought it as soon as I could and it became an instant classic for me. It was hard as shit even with the guide though 😂. Thank you for this. Brings a lot a memories.

This game made PS1 gaming days so memorable for me, it has all the elements that Resident Evil 2 had plus more... I was amazed by the graphics esp. the use of flash light, I've never seen that on games like this before. The sounds and music is top notch and the setting design made a very riveting but mysterious and unsettling atmosphere. The cover art is also great I think they got inspiration from "The Exorcist" movie.

I remember having a Disc that was several demos of games to try. I tried out this game as a child, and I remember being super scared of the monsters. That skeleton dog thing running at you, and then those stupid sewer monsters in the water. Never beat the demo because it was nerve-wreaking. As an adult, I have played dead space, the outlast games, and several other suspense/horror games with no issue. Though, I remember when I first played outlast, I was engrossed in the atmosphere that a falling dead jump-scare caught me off guard and I had to pause for a few minutes, haha. I am going to have to download an emulator and play this game to the very end.
I always watch this game in streams. Cool game. I have passed it many times on the console. On Playstation 1, Eileen shows that her nipples stick out on her breasts 3:48:21 when she meets Carnby in the room under the secret room with Judas De Certo. In later versions, the protruding nipples on Eileen's breasts were cut out of the game.
What a game! I always liked it, the atmosphere, the music, the story. Found it too difficult though; I made it a little further from the library creature and got stuck. It's nice to see the rest of the game. Thanks!
I love the detail in this game, even the background in the woods there’s loads of creepy looking trees and rocks that looks like faces and other creepy sh*t. Very well designed. On a side note I actually won a competition in PlayStation magazine and won a copy of this back when it was released 😎
