Paul is the coolest senior citizen on the planet! I seen him several months ago & he's 74 now & can hit them notes like he did so many years ago. He's older but he's still the cute Beatle!
That’s a tribute to John Lennon who had the false start on his Gibson J-60e acoustic in the studio. Producer George Martin decided to leave Lennon’s false start on the record.
What a belter this tune is. I am an English tutor and if you want an exercise in explaining everyday English dialogue with a plethora of figures of speech idioms and phrasal verbs, this has it all. What a remarkable personality the composer of this tune is. 69 in this video and still has energy for a footy side.
I remember seeing Frankie Valli on TV when he was getting on a bit, it looked to me like a younger chap in the band was hitting the high notes for him.
This is one of his best songs! Very clever pop song. Love has a nasty habit of disappearing overnight. That’s a good line and very true. Thanks Macca! For all the incredible songs! And thanks to whoever posted this. 👏🏻🎸😎
This man STILL loves what he's doing, it's so obvious. Great rendition of this classic.......He's still got "it", & will do it until he physically can't (IMHO) anymore. Our Gain! His too, I think.....Thanks for posting this, much appreciated!
LEGEND. Saw him twice in concert and he could show bands half his age how to rock it live. Also one of the gigs I saw was five days before Christmas day and he played Wonderful Christmas which as you can imagine just the icing on the cake .
Great Song; Nice footage. Next to the ICONS that Sir Paul has played with; this is the best group of musicians that he has toured with. Strong and tight.
This song, with the double false start, was the perfect way to open the US version of "Rubber Soul". Very Beatle-like to open an album with a false start. No one else would have ever done that. Opening the US album with this and leaving off a couple of great songs that did not fit the tone of the album otherwise, the US album was more of a folk rock album than the British version. And we eventually got the songs left off later, so it was all good. For me, this was the album when they stopped being "the lads". Their growth and leadership in taking music to yet different directions was showing. It was great.
@@davidmittelstedt8662 I saw a video here on TH-cam that spoke of some minor glitches in the recording. The author stated that he believed Paul rushed through the editing process. There were missed beats and disappearing lead guitar notes. He thinks that perhaps Paul recorded the entire song alone, but I'm not too sure about that assertion.

The BIGGEST celebrity on the planet no one can come close.
All these years we thought of Paul as a musician, but we had it wrong - he’s a magician. Only explanation for generations of MAGIC.
Forgot the K
I play this song on all the time for my friends on my guitar! The Rubber Soul album, a Classic!
Macca is hilarious “sign my butt” “let’s have a look at it” 🤣🤣🤣
What a legend. A life lived so well
Paul plays the false start that only appeared on US stereo version of rubber soul.

My favourite track off Rubber Soul! Nice one Paul
Mine too!
McCartney can re-ignite the original fire of these most beautiful Beatles song, even in predominantly French-speaking Montréal. Merci, beaucoup, Paul!
Paul's 69 in this clip, if my math is right. I lost the ability to hit those high notes by age 28. He's still hitting 'em!
Do you play Rickenbacker??
@@Rightsideup I'm ashamed to admit I've sold 'em all.

Wow, in 2011 he could still hit those high notes on "I'm looking through you"... ! 😲 A little gem from Rubber Soul...
Thank you very much for this. I'll never see The Beatles play it, but damn Paul truly does still got it. Fantastic.
Mr McCartney is a beyond words legend and just fk yeah 👏

I don't care what Paul mcCartney does behind close doors, all I care about is his immortal talent and his voice.oh,and his songs are good too.
I don’t think he’s doing anything questionable behind doors either

Bass player: "I'm onstage with Paul McCartney!"
he sounds french canadian when he says merci beaucoup

Pure magic.
Finally! "Proof" that the two false starts (found on the North American stereo version of Rubber Soul) are supposed to be there ;-)
The false start was John and was a mistake but Martin left it in because it fit the song
