First girl is better than majority of uneven bars finalists we saw back then and see today!! Much higher difficulty, much better execution. I wonder why she didn't win gold!
@@PeirsolFan2 Turns were on time, landing wasn't too low, yes she stepped but that was the only flaw in her whole routine. She was the best of them all.
There were enough form errors to cost her the gold unfortunately. In that scoring system the 10 cap made it more difficult to have even slightly off skills and still be a contender. Now it might have turned out differently.
@@willsbob123 i agree, and I think if they felt they could have relied on her in more than just bars she’d have gone. We needed people who could also do beam… which was unfortunate. That’s the reason that was given anyway.
@@PeirsolFan2 Li Ya had the most difficult routine here and her "late turns" were on difficult pirouette sequences that anyone else in this competition would have also been late on if they tried. She did the Ono pirouette better than Pyon Kwang-sun if you compare the two, and had better transition to high bar, and better final cast handstand. Li Ya also did the L-grip Endo 1/1 better than Kupets regular Endo 1/1. I would have liked to see Li Ya tie with Kupets for Bronze.
Li ya scored 9.675 in prelims with a pretty big deduction on a pirouette. With a cleaner dismount she probably could have scored close to 9.7 here and challenged for Gold.
Poor Korkina, I cry when I saw her loosing her third and very well deserved olympics gold on bar . I think the French was a bit overscored and the 2 americans deserved gold

So nice to see such variation in routines
I can’t believe how lax the handstand deductions were in that code.
So happy to see that Terin medalled. She was one of my favourite gymnasts from that quad.

lots of late turns, landed very low on her dismount, and had a step on her landing

@@cilantroisbetterthanparsley You're probably blind.
Such a bummer about Svetlana. Would’ve been cool to see her win a third consecutive Olympic gold medal
First! Absolutely amazing final!!!!
Por favor agrega la final de ejerció de suelo y viga de equilibrio ATENAS 2004 femenil
Amazing final. Incredibly, the USA had stronger bar workers (Chellsie Memmel & Hollie Vise) that could have contended for gold if named to the team.
Sadly both were injured. Chelsea had shoulder surgery, Hollie had back problems. It was really unfortunate, but at least Chelsea made it to Beijing.
@@saragrant9749 Memmel's injuries in 2004 and 2008 were not related to her shoulder. 2004 was her foot and 2008 was a broken ankle.
@@saragrant9749 hollie was still fantastic. Her back problems only saw her get rid of some flexibility on beam.

If I’m not mistaken, she was the first ever French female gymnast to win an Olympic title.
and the only medal for French female athletes in gymnastics in Olympic history, the other 20 medals were won only by men out of the 21 in total
@@gege14200hopefully Melanie can add to that!!
Yes
Incredible sale by Lin... her hand was off the bar basically. Beautiful routine by Emilie!
this is true gymnastics omg
Wish scores were shown, maybe at least the final ranking when everything is shown on the screen.
All both athletes gymnastics well played highlights moves ❤
Li Ya deserved a medal
Nope - lots of late turns, low landing on her dismount and a step too,

@@Zuranthium doesn’t matter the routine is more difficult. The execution wasn’t there.
@@PeirsolFan2 Her execution was fine enough compared to others. She literally did the pirouettes better than other people who placed ahead of her.

For the Hristakieva, is there a deduction for her leg separation at the end?
Yes
Incredible French Artistic Gymnast getting gold medal and Americans getting silver and bronze medals.
Can someone go over the degree if difficulty for the 2004 code of points. I can’t calculate emilie start value
The COP was different in 2004. I’m not sure about the 2001-2004 code
IN COP 2004: 10
IN THE ACTUAL CODE: D SCORE:4.8
amazing!!

The French girl EARNED her gold with a brilliant display. Stop disrespecting her well earned title with such unnecessary remarks.
It's so disrespectful like you are not a judge she earn it with an amazing difficult routine

She missed her grip and ended up hitting the low bar...
If svetlana didnt miss her steps..
