Agreed! Amari is one of the best mothers in this troop. She adores Lori, you see it when she is shown nursing or cuddling her...she looks like at Lori with those eyes and you just see that Motherly love. And she feeds Lori well, but still encourages independence and strength. Like you said, she is very consistent and fair in her 'discipline.' And what has been so incredible is that even though Lori came back with a huge physical challenge to overcome; Amari scooped her up and steadfastly watched over and helped her. People forget that sometimes monkeys will abandon or kill the weak; but Lori was embraced. These VO's are really professional at spin doctoring aren't they!
When she was a baby, Kari was always with Popeye and Sweet Pea, because Maria left Kari quite often. Lori is the smartest, and STRONGEST baby and the most amazing forger. Out of all the years I've watched these little guys, this little family is one is recognize at any age in their lives. When Lori had to stay at a rescue center to heal, she was older than the other orphans and sick babies and she mothered and protected them. Alita and Heidi both were there with Lori. As ugly as I thought her mom was lol, Lori turned out to be the cutest baby monkey I've ever seen even today, and her sweetness is as beautiful as she is. I wish I could see her again. Do you notice when Lori is begging Popeye for milk how Amari will go up and top Popeye to try to get her to nurse Lori? I think I saw Popeye nursing her one time. The other times she told Amari no!!!. Which you can't blame Popeye it's not her place any way she has Polly hanging from her teat 24/7. She gets tired of that.
