I went through the same thing with my family. You made the better choice to receive Christ. You are a child of God. I left the Catholic church. Imagine having a family that thinks my leaving the Catholics was a betrayal. Hang in there with prayer and talk to Jesus about your pain. You won't get much sympathy from even this minister. God loves you, God loves you, and he lives you. Relax around family. Don't distance yourself unless they are hostile.
I like this subject and appreciate the way it was presented. How many times the Jewish teachers were scolded by Jesus for not KNOWING the time and season, and how many times we are commanded to watch those signs and KNOW the season. Yet those that do follow that command are mostly under the deception of sensationalism. I did not find that deception here.
What is the obsession of Christians with achieving an answer to the question, WHEN, is Jesus returning? It's clear we will never know...so therefore live each day's as though it is the day of His return.

It is easy to see we are in "the beginning of birth pains". But do you know how to tell when the birthpains stop and the first half of the tribulation begins?
Acts 4:1-21,23-37 [1]While Peter and John were speaking to the people, some Jewish leaders came up to them. There were some priests, the captain of the soldiers that guarded the Temple, and some Sadducees. [2]They were upset because of what Peter and John were teaching the people. By telling people about Jesus, the apostles were teaching that people will rise from death. [3]The Jewish leaders arrested Peter and John and put them in jail. It was already night, so they kept them in jail until the next day. [4]But many of the people who heard the apostles believed what they said. There were now about 5000 men in the group of believers. [5]The next day the Jewish rulers, the older Jewish leaders, and the teachers of the law met in Jerusalem. [6]Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, and Alexander were there. Everyone from the high priest’s family was there. [7]They made Peter and John stand before all the people. They asked them over and over, “How did you make this crippled man well? What power did you use? [15]The Jewish leaders told them to leave the council meeting. Then the leaders talked to each other about what they should do. [16]They said, “What shall we do with these men? Everyone in Jerusalem knows about the miracle they did as a sign from God. It’s too obvious. We can’t say it didn’t happen. [17]But we must make them afraid to talk to anyone again using that name. Then this problem will not spread among the people.” [18]So the Jewish leaders called Peter and John in again. They told the apostles not to say anything or to teach anything in the name of Jesus. [19]But Peter and John answered them, “What do you think is right? What would God want? Should we obey you or God? [20]We cannot be quiet. We must tell people about what we have seen and heard.” [21]The Jewish leaders could not find a way to punish the apostles, because all the people were praising God for what had been done. This miracle was a sign from God. The man who was healed was more than 40 years old. So the Jewish leaders warned the apostles again and let them go free. [23]Peter and John left the meeting of Jewish leaders and went to their own group. They told the group everything that the leading priests and the older Jewish leaders had said to them. [24]When the believers heard this, they all prayed to God with one purpose. They said, “Master, you are the one who made the sky, the earth, the sea, and everything in the world. I have a question. I have been a born again Christian for almost 5 years now and everything about my thought process and heart has changed, my eyes have been opened PTL!! I pray often for the Lord to reveal my sins in my heart so that I can repent and turn from them however I’m struggling with a decision -one of my very close family member is getting married in a same-sex marriage. do I attend their wedding - by me not attending they will have hurt feelings and the whole family also, and most likely stop any contact with me at all. Not to mention it would cause much conflict between my husband and myself for he said he will attend their wedding and believes I should also - my biggest concern is will they hate my God of the Bible never leaving an opportunity for me to speak about God and give them the gospel every chance I get if I now have been banished from the family-I want do what is right in God‘s eyes .I want to have opportunity’s to show my family love., sharing the love of God with them sharing the gospel every chance I get with them etc. they all know my stance on homosexuality and the practice of sin vs The struggle with sin . I have been praying about it and I honestly don’t know what Jesus wants me to do - I will continue to pray and listen for His direction however I would value any opinions or advice on this matter. Personally, I would not attend the wedding. Attending a wedding means you support the union and the marriage and it is a public proclamation on your part that you do. You can and should still be loving to the individuals, but the Bible makes clear that we are not to support folks in their sin. I know this is difficult, but many times the Christian life is NOT an easy one as we have to choose the standards and commands of God over the easy acceptance of friends, family, and society. We can't go along to get along when it comes to our faith. One of my Christian friends recently really dressed me down when she asked me if she should attend her niece's same sex wedding and I suggested she not go. A very sore subject indeed. Also, I would not use witnessing to them in the future as a reason to attend the wedding as ultimately their salvation or their not being saved is in God's hands not yours, and is also not yours to orchestrate. If God wants you to continue to witness to these people he will present the opportunities. My best to you in this tough decision.
I believe the Lord will lead you in the right decision for you. Pray earnestly for wisdom and discernment to allow The Holy Spirit to break through your conflicting thoughts and experience total spiritual clarity in alignment with God's Will. Jesus showed us how he sought relationships with those caught up in sin strongholds to be the salt and light necessary to penetrate darkness. We are not sinless, but as believers, we have the power of Jesus through The Holy Spirit. Maybe the Lord councils you to attend the service or maybe He councils you to stay away. He knows your heart, your strengths, weaknesses, gifts, talents and will always use and strengthen those for His glory that will manifest under His authority and in His timing. He is always molding us and our circumstances even as we may not be aware or understand His purpose. James 3:17 "But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere."
Colleen. Stand up for what is right. Do what is right. Not proud, not arrogant. But, God ordained marriage in the Garden of Eden, and nothing has changed. Hate the sin....love the sinner. Just because you don't like their choice you must not cut your whole family out of your life. Pray for this couple. Attend and enjoy time with your family.

Rather than tell people in vivid description about sinful behaviours, your time would be more appropriately spent helping those who are almost there to completely surrender their pride. Though to teach it you first must understand it, to understand it you must first have done it.

Acts 3:13, 4:27, 4:30, ... God's servant Jesus. Liked it said in John 17:1-3, the only true God is the Father. Eternal life is to know you, the only true God and to know Jesus Christ, the one you sent. This is the prayer of Jesus Christ to the Father. We have to read 1 Corinthians 15:27 to understand it, does not include God. It was God who put everything under the power of Christ. Read on to verse 28.
Alan Jackson is one of my favorite pastors but I'm stunned and disappointed how many ads are inserted in his sermon videos! When we go to church we are not interrupted with ads and lots of them. This is very obnoxious and distracting. It looks as though you are putting monetary gain over providing God's word uninterrupted. Something to ponder. Do you include transparency for the income received from TH-cam to your congregation? Article regarding ads.... Ad Placement on TH-cam Videos: On any video under eight minutes, there is a clear limit - one ad spot before and after the video. But on anything longer than eight minutes, you can have what are called mid-roll ads, and those are the ones that always interrupt the video just as it's getting good. TH-cam will automatically place a mid-roll ad for you, but in the creator studio, you can go in and add more if you like, anywhere in the video, as many ads as you want. Yes, as many ads as I want.
Why does this particular sermon have all these ad interruptions?? Extremely annoying.. Out of all the sermons I have listened to from Pastor Allen, this is a first.. Interrupts his interesting and informative information!

My family no longer tolerates my Christianity. And you’re right I don’t feel blessed it hurts to have my children refuse to talk to me. God help me.
I went through the same thing with my family. You made the better choice to receive Christ. You are a child of God. I left the Catholic church. Imagine having a family that thinks my leaving the Catholics was a betrayal. Hang in there with prayer and talk to Jesus about your pain. You won't get much sympathy from even this minister. God loves you, God loves you, and he lives you. Relax around family. Don't distance yourself unless they are hostile.

I like this subject and appreciate the way it was presented. How many times the Jewish teachers were scolded by Jesus for not KNOWING the time and season, and how many times we are commanded to watch those signs and KNOW the season. Yet those that do follow that command are mostly under the deception of sensationalism. I did not find that deception here.
What is the obsession of Christians with achieving an answer to the question, WHEN, is Jesus returning?

[1]While Peter and John were speaking to the people, some Jewish leaders came up to them. There were some priests, the captain of the soldiers that guarded the Temple, and some Sadducees.
[2]They were upset because of what Peter and John were teaching the people. By telling people about Jesus, the apostles were teaching that people will rise from death.
[3]The Jewish leaders arrested Peter and John and put them in jail. It was already night, so they kept them in jail until the next day.
[4]But many of the people who heard the apostles believed what they said. There were now about 5000 men in the group of believers.

[14]They saw the crippled man standing there beside the apostles. They saw that he was healed, so they could say nothing against the apostles.
[15]The Jewish leaders told them to leave the council meeting. Then the leaders talked to each other about what they should do.
[16]They said, “What shall we do with these men? Everyone in Jerusalem knows about the miracle they did as a sign from God. It’s too obvious. We can’t say it didn’t happen.
[17]But we must make them afraid to talk to anyone again using that name. Then this problem will not spread among the people.”
[18]So the Jewish leaders called Peter and John in again. They told the apostles not to say anything or to teach anything in the name of Jesus.
[19]But Peter and John answered them, “What do you think is right? What would God want? Should we obey you or God?
[20]We cannot be quiet. We must tell people about what we have seen and heard.”
[21]The Jewish leaders could not find a way to punish the apostles, because all the people were praising God for what had been done. This miracle was a sign from God. The man who was healed was more than 40 years old. So the Jewish leaders warned the apostles again and let them go free.
[23]Peter and John left the meeting of Jewish leaders and went to their own group. They told the group everything that the leading priests and the older Jewish leaders had said to them.
[24]When the believers heard this, they all prayed to God with one purpose. They said, “Master, you are the one who made the sky, the earth, the sea, and everything in the world.
[25]Our ancestor David was your servant. With the help of the Holy Spirit he wrote these words:

[31]After the believers prayed, the place where they were meeting shook. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they continued to speak God’s message without fear.
[32]The whole group of believers was united in their thinking and in what they wanted. None of them said that the things they had were their own. Instead, they shared everything.
[33]With great power the apostles were making it known to everyone that the Lord Jesus was raised from death. And God blessed all the believers very much.
[34]None of them could say they needed anything. Everyone who owned fields or houses sold them. They brought the money they got
[35]and gave it to the apostles. Then everyone was given whatever they needed.
[36]One of the believers was named Joseph. The apostles called him Barnabas, a name that means “one who encourages others.” He was a Levite born in Cyprus.

I have a question. I have been a born again Christian for almost 5 years now and everything about my thought process and heart has changed, my eyes have been opened PTL!! I pray often for the Lord to reveal my sins in my heart so that I can repent and turn from them however I’m struggling with a decision -one of my very close family member is getting married in a same-sex marriage. do I attend their wedding - by me not attending they will have hurt feelings and the whole family also, and most likely stop any contact with me at all. Not to mention it would cause much conflict between my husband and myself for he said he will attend their wedding and believes I should also - my biggest concern is will they hate my God of the Bible never leaving an opportunity for me to speak about God and give them the gospel every chance I get if I now have been banished from the family-I want do what is right in God‘s eyes .I want to have opportunity’s to show my family love., sharing the love of God with them sharing the gospel every chance I get with them etc. they all know my stance on homosexuality and the practice of sin vs The struggle with sin . I have been praying about it and I honestly don’t know what Jesus wants me to do - I will continue to pray and listen for His direction however I would value any opinions or advice on this matter. Personally, I would not attend the wedding. Attending a wedding means you support the union and the marriage and it is a public proclamation on your part that you do. You can and should still be loving to the individuals, but the Bible makes clear that we are not to support folks in their sin. I know this is difficult, but many times the Christian life is NOT an easy one as we have to choose the standards and commands of God over the easy acceptance of friends, family, and society. We can't go along to get along when it comes to our faith. One of my Christian friends recently really dressed me down when she asked me if she should attend her niece's same sex wedding and I suggested she not go. A very sore subject indeed. Also, I would not use witnessing to them in the future as a reason to attend the wedding as ultimately their salvation or their not being saved is in God's hands not yours, and is also not yours to orchestrate. If God wants you to continue to witness to these people he will present the opportunities. My best to you in this tough decision.
I believe the Lord will lead you in the right decision for you. Pray earnestly for wisdom and discernment to allow The Holy Spirit to break through your conflicting thoughts and experience total spiritual clarity in alignment with God's Will. Jesus showed us how he sought relationships with those caught up in sin strongholds to be the salt and light necessary to penetrate darkness. We are not sinless, but as believers, we have the power of Jesus through The Holy Spirit. Maybe the Lord councils you to attend the service or maybe He councils you to stay away. He knows your heart, your strengths, weaknesses, gifts, talents and will always use and strengthen those for His glory that will manifest under His authority and in His timing. He is always molding us and our circumstances even as we may not be aware or understand His purpose. James 3:17 "But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere."

Rather than tell people in vivid description about sinful behaviours, your time would be more appropriately spent helping those who are almost there to completely surrender their pride. Though to teach it you first must understand it, to understand it you must first have done it.

Acts 3:13, 4:27, 4:30, ... God's servant Jesus. Liked it said in John 17:1-3, the only true God is the Father. Eternal life is to know you, the only true God and to know Jesus Christ, the one you sent. This is the prayer of Jesus Christ to the Father. We have to read 1 Corinthians 15:27 to understand it, does not include God. It was God who put everything under the power of Christ. Read on to verse 28.
Alan Jackson is one of my favorite pastors but I'm stunned and disappointed how many ads are inserted in his sermon videos! When we go to church we are not interrupted with ads and lots of them. This is very obnoxious and distracting. It looks as though you are putting monetary gain over providing God's word uninterrupted. Something to ponder. Do you include transparency for the income received from TH-cam to your congregation?

On any video under eight minutes, there is a clear limit - one ad spot before and after the video. But on anything longer than eight minutes, you can have what are called mid-roll ads, and those are the ones that always interrupt the video just as it's getting good. TH-cam will automatically place a mid-roll ad for you, but in the creator studio, you can go in and add more if you like, anywhere in the video, as many ads as you want. Yes, as many ads as I want.
Why does this particular sermon have all these ad interruptions?? Extremely annoying.. Out of all the sermons I have listened to from Pastor Allen, this is a first.. Interrupts his interesting and informative information!
