Just walked 1/2 mile up and down my driveway. I felt much better swinging my arm and cane. My shoulder aches a little from non use. I know it will take time till my arm moves more freely. HOPE for the future.

Thank you, very helpful tips. I've had balance issues for about 4 years now like I'm forever walking on a trampoline mat with a spongy feel beneath my feet. Having compensated for this over the last few years my walking has become awkward. I've noticed my knees are not as flexible as they used to be so the tips in the last segment especially resonates with me. My goal for 2024 is to challenge my balance more, strengthen my core and restore some mobility. 🤞🏽
    Thank you! 💜

Hi Gretchen. Thank you about talking about ARM SWING. With spasticity I have gotten out of the habit of moving my arms when walking. Keeping my affected arm close to my body and not moving my cane that much. Just walking around in the house. i have to menially tell my arms to move. I only can get the arm to move a few inches. It does make a difference to my walking. After this video I will try it outdoors.

Wow! The importance of arm swing! I've never swinged my arms, not even when I had no MS. 😮

❤❤❤Thank you. I need to get better with balance so I can get out walking more. I had no clue about the little ankle movements and the hip stuff. Picking something up is hard.

Without an in person evaluation it is hard to answer this question for your specific needs. However, there are great MS specific exercises on my page that you can begin to implement as they are different from regular exercises. A few of my clients have similar level of mobility as yourself, and they have been able to see improvements! And if you're looking for a more in depth program to work toward your goals, I hope you consider checking out The MSing Link program. All the details can be found on my website, here: www.doctorgretchenhawley.com/TheMSingLink
