This whole case is so bizarre. Gag order, crime scene demolition, burying the house (so strange), property gifted to school, 911 call not released, book published by president of university…etc., etc., etc.

The only "emergency" for the university was that students were leaving in droves and probably would not return. The university was and is trying to save itself as an institution.

Good show. I do have to disagree with the displeasure over how long it’s taking to get to trial. If the State wanted this to go more quickly they should have taken the death penalty off the table. In a death penalty trial, it should be expected that it will take years to go to trial. This is the most serious punishment our society can impose, the defendant has a right to have the very best defense possible.

One question I have is: did any of the parents of the students who did not return after the holiday break get a return of any of their monies paid for housing and meals. The university got “paid” from the state for those same rooms and for meals that were already paid for. Or were they told there would be no refunds, because the students made the decision on their own to not return.

You both know very well that AT doesn’t mean she intends to call 400 witnesses to court. She has to interview 400 people connected to this case, most of which were people already interviewed by the prosecution and most of them have already made it known they don’t want to talk to her. If everyone is fed up waiting for the trial to start than tell this soft a** judge to hold the prosecutions feet to the fire and get her the discovery she keeps asking for over and over and over again.

I observed the Judge struggle with putting the trial on the calendar as soon as possible when faced with the defense's claims of the need for time to fully prepare. The Judge's behavior resonated with being politically correct. The law does not provide the defendant with the time to craft the perfect defense. Our system is moving away from the value of bringing witness testimony while its fresh (and the witnesses are still alive) and the victims opportunity for justice. BK is not entitled to 400 witnesses - that is absurd.
An LLC is a Limited Liability Company is a business structure used for tax strategization and insulation from individual liability.
The University is the profit center and we are seeing small town incestuous corruption between government and the University, secondary beneficiaries of the gag order.

I am blown away that they listed a quarter million dollars to ISP for meals and lodging, and considered them volunteers....WHAT??? Theyre cops that already get paid to do their jobs, and they pay for their own meals and lodging. And if you wanted them on campus during this time, then ask the governor for their assistance. I dont even get any of this, it's criminal imo! And BK was arrested on Dec 30th, so a quarter million for 6 weeks??? Someone make this make sense becuz it doesnt, and I can't believe the legislature even ok'd this. Bottom line, Scott Green pulled a fast one over on the state of Idaho and it's despicable! Not to mention, you only spent a total of $11,000 on the students for food and lodging,q psychological and counseling services? Sounds like you had way more le than students huh? Really, where are his priorities?

The dorm rooms were sitting empty. No cost to university. But were the students who decided not to return still paying for those rooms? Double dipping? The costs for consultants is not unreasonable. (I used to be one, so slight bias.) cost for counseling seems ridiculously low, but maybe the students were gone? The costs for the “free” house is also ridiculous.

IMPORTANT - Find out if any of the Univ President's relatives are part of the LLC who owned the house, since his family once owned it. It may have stayed with a member of the family. That would be even more suspicious. I have been part of LLCs, renting properties in Texas for many years,

Chris- consider Alcatraz. Alcatraz prisoners were fed good, home cooked meals, and were reported to be "lethargic" as a result. Doesn't that make sense? Feed prisoners a dry baloney sandwich and expect riots. Vegan meals are likely the cheapest meals being served in incarceration - not the luxury meal your tone insinuates. If we have a mind about the well-being of our correction officers, we will spend more to keep prisoners sated with calories. However, some others have a narrow focus on profit. Alcatraz is reported to have closed because it was expensive. Maybe it should cost more to get something done right.
