It is incredible. And I buy it, because they've shown us, over many years, that passion is a defining characteristic of their relationship. Whether it comes out in love, lust, anger, laughter, devotion, adventure...the feelings are strong.
Well the incredible thing is how they went from that last scene... crazy, intense drama to this just as wonderful romantic comedy. (something current day GH is sorely missing!)

Luke wasn't able to compromise. This is what really ended their marriage, they didn't even need Stefan to break them up. Luke wasn't able to feel "free" to never "have his guard up".
They were happy after Lucky took them on the Boston wildgoose chase, and had LuLu. But after Laura got out of jail, the real destruction to their marriage was indeed the Cassadines and the rewrite as well as the rape rehash. They could've lived happily ever after even after their house was shot up and Luke still worked with Sonny. They were happy, but Nikolas entered the picture. Bad writing.
