Hi! They asked to see my visa so I had to log in. Yes, when I was exiting the Philippines, I had to hand in my passport and mobile phone with the eVisa showing. They didn’t ask me to log in in front of them, so maybe u can do a screen shot just as a fail safe. When I arrived in Japan technically they didn’t ask to see a visa. I just volunteered to show it to them. No problem! Glad this video helped!

Hi! Yikes! Your application is really close to your departure. Did u submit to New York office or elsewhere? - cuz just a few days ago for New York, someone mentioned there’s a 1 month backlog. Just got my visa today, took exactly 7 working days for all the process, the application was so easy I only had a hard time uploading my photo and my IDs which you’ve also mention, coz they’re really strict with file size, even if I put my photo settings into the least quality still didn’t meet the required size, so what I did was I took a photo of my ID then screen shot it and crop it, and it worked,😂😂 Really big thanks to your informative video, though one thing I didn’t follow from your vid was to include my flight from LA - MNL - JPN in my itinerary since my point of origin is also from US, but I guess they consider it through my round trip ticket which I also sent them. Hi! We flew Philippine airlines. No worries. Just look confident and show them ur evisa when u check in. The lady at my counter looked puzzled and called her supervisor. It worked out. The evisa has every info they need to document: visa no. And dates. You’ll be fine 👍🏻 and lots of people are actually using this method.

[you are allowed to switch hotels if you change your mind] With regard to activities: it’s reasonable that plans are flexible & tentative. -- they just want to have an idea of your “tourism” intention. They simply ask you write down your plans on their itinerary form. (No need for purchased Disneyland tickets and Mt Fuji tour deals made prior to the trip, for example)

As I can remember, the validity of the visa usually starts on ur initial intended day of arrival in Japan. @@jaidaannviluan9664 hi! You’ll have to group all tickets into 1 pdf file. That’s how I uploaded my itinerary. Example: using my ipad, I had to screen shot each, and then click select on those pics, and open with ibooks. Once opened on ibooks, I forward/save the file and rename it tickets.

Hi! I’m sorry about that. I actually just took a picture of my license & PR card. I scanned my passport. It’s important to take note of the file size of the final scanned/saved image. The Japan website has a limited file size that they accept. What’s tricky is when you upload ur images to the website it will ask you what size of file to upload it as. Try not to choose the lowest option. Look at your scanned images and find a way to save & decrease file size without compromising clarity. Try to email those files to yourself to actually see how they look. When in doubt, just take a pic of your docs and as u save it, check ur phone camera settings to choose a lower save file and not make it HD.
I totally know what you’re going through cuz i had that issue before. I hope this works out, and please continue applying. Japan understands this issue. It’s common.

Congratulations!!! Officially you are suppose to show your visa via internet from the site. So, while waiting in line at immigration open the website and have ur evisa ready. You can also screenshot if u can for back up purposes.

Hi, with a multipage itinerary/ flight detail, I combined them by converting them into a PDF file. And that’s what I uploaded. Are u still able to access them? Delete what you’ve uploaded to make space. Edit your files into 1 pdf and upload that file?
I use chat GPT, or you can google Japan or Tokyo itinerary. And mark down 1 recommended places in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening. It’s doesn’t have to be a final itinerary, but as long as the embassy can see what your plans are and how u spend ur days there. They told me : putting in a city isn’t enough. So I placed specific parts of the city I would like to visit.

@@ynyn9168 feel free to use the next line and date when you’ll be in those hotels. Japan ministry isn’t very particular as long as what you’re writing is understandable and they want to see what your (tentative) plans are.
How long did it take to be approved from “under examination”. I applied on Friday and my trip is on February 03. It’s currently under examination. I am worry it won’t be on time. Should I applied via mail since appointments on the NYC is full for this month ?
@@jintan8697 Hi! Should take 2 weeks. Evisa would definitely be faster and lower risk of losing your passport which is a whole different headache. NYC processing Centers are quick.
@@ivysabio7179 No. I flew from Cebu City to Tokyo. Just make sure you submit entire itinerary that led to Japan. (Mine was New York to HK, then HK to Cebu. Stayed for 1 week then Cebu to Tokyo and back). 👍🏻

Hi, Japan definitely would [not] recommend you purchase a ticket before a visa is issued because there is no guarantee. How do u get a ‘dummy’ ticket? I’d suggest, in the process of booking a flight, right before you pay, take a screen shot of the flight details etc. make sure the dates on ur planned flights is the same date of ur accommodations & itinerary (aka visit plans). I believe one user has done this. The key thing is to book and make plans at least 3 months ahead. And send your application. If Japan would like more info on your flight, they will contact you - and if this happens, it means ur visa application is very close to completion. Japan doesn’t give u a hard time. And they understand, and expect that u [don’t] purchase a ticket yet.
@@thedanielgo it’s a website that will book the flight for me for 48th hours and they would give me everything like a real ticket and it is indeed a real ticket just reserved for two days for 18$ so if the embassy would check my flight on the airline website they will find it but only for two days then the reservation will expire and I will but all the information on it and submit it you think it will work? Since it’s kinda real but a heard someone said that they will reject it I don’t know really… but I want to do it since I have no other way and my trip is in the beginning of June and thank soo much for your fast reply
@@leena1002 since your trip is in June, you have more than enough time to Japan to process your visa. You can gamble and try the dummy ticket which technically is a booking reference. But id strongly recommend making the purchase and immediately submitting your application. I understand the anxiety and I feel it too. But if you think about it, a purchased ticked also gives financial confidence. And either way, you will still need to buy a ticket and fly within the dates of your visa validity. (And tickets will cost more closer to departure date. And! Summer is peak ish season).

Hi! Usually itinerary is flight itinerary. Schedule of stay is your plans. Your day to day plans. Even if it’s tentative, they want you to write it down. The timing doesn’t have to be specific. Just generally write down what u intend to do on those days. It’s not enough to put in the city or town.

If not, wait for it a little. It won’t be long. They will advise on the next steps. But keep a look out for any prompts to pay for the visa fee so that your application will be completed.
I am also a permanent resident of the US. The problem for me is the flight itinerary. Did your itinerary have a reservation code (or) confirmation number? I am not comfortable purchasing a ticket before getting a visa in hand. Also, my itinerary and date of travel always change. So, I may just download the itinerary format online, make some changes to it and then submit them. Is that the same way you did that too?
Hi! Maybe u can try to book and pay later option and print that out. Or book a flight with free cancellation or change dates. You are correct. They generally recommend u not buy a ticket yet but I have to show proof of travel intention. The eVisa validity will revolve around ur itinerary u submit. My visa validity started started in the day I would travel to Japan based on my itinerary. Yes, download the itinerary form and just fill it up. U can always change when u get to Japan but what’s important are ur travel dates. Disclaimer: I don’t work for the Japanese govt. everything I share is based on my personal experience and research.
*** they are actually very efficient. They are not strict. If something is missing or wrong, they will message u like they did with me. And it got resolved the day after. It’s actually a simple process.
Ideally they advise to not purchase a ticket cuz of possible delays. If you feel that you might have frequent changes and don’t want to buy-buy a ticket, either u you book a flight and pay later (some airlines allow this) and download that reservation. -- or, book/purchase a flight that allows free cancellation. This might cost more but in your case u have the intention of possibly adjusting flight dates or cancelling all together.

Hi! You are good 👍🏻 their processing time is usually 7 working days. Don’t worry if it says temporary received. Because once they officially receive it, the process it right away with a short turn around time. You will get your evisas in time. It took mine 2 weeks total.

Hi Helen! Were u able to place the different hotel info in the itinerary form? If not, don’t worry. If they need more info, they will email straight away. And once u comply, u get feedback a day later.

Hi! Our family booked 2 hotels. But the embassy wanted a detailed itinerary of what we were to do on those days. So I had chat GPT make a 5 day itinerary for Tokyo. Of course I picked and edited things that were realistic to do and what interest us. I don’t think there will be an issue with changing hotels. So you are good. This happens. -- what’s important is you take that trip :) A booking confirmation is Fine. The consulate does not expect u to have a final booking. Sadly most hotels don’t offer just simply reservations nor free cancellations. But I’m confident your trip will push through :)

Hi, it was free. For many countries it’s usually free. When you finish your application they will let you know if you need to pay. But mostly it’s free.

Hi! I think I know what you mean. I did have some issues uploading and cropping pic in their site. Here’s what I did: 1. I would log out and log in again. If it doesn’t work, I’d do it the following day. (I think sometimes they reboot their systems). *same for uploading files if you have any issue. Just log out and log in again. 2. I edited/cropped my photo within their system. Had to do it several times. If your pic is too close up, I would open that pic in a different canvas. Ensure background of canvas is same as background of pic, and then zoom out, and screen shot. - then try to upload and hopefully ur pic/face will fit within the circle of their required photo size. ***but my bet is number 1. I hope this helps. 🙏🏻

Do you think I should withdraw my application and do it again since for flight itinerary I only included round trip flight between Shanghai and Tokyo? Also, when I upload the additional flight itinerary from USA to China, do I also need to upload my return flight itinerary from China to USA? Since you mentioned to upload all flights that lead to Japan, I'm not quite sure if I should upload it or not as I haven't purchased my ticket for return from China to USA. Thanks in advance!
Hi! Yes, I think you should withdraw and reapply while uploading all flights that lead to Japan. This is what happened to me. They asked for the further flights but took them 2 days to process my application once I complied. There are some instances where they will cancel your application and not tell u why. Best to not waste time and be sure :)

That’s a very good question: 1. If it’s purely a layover from international location to international location, you should be fine. **as long as they keep you within international departure areas. Hi, I haven’t seen official requirement regarding how much you should have in your bank account. But I’m pretty sure they’d expect the same amount of money for those apply for a 15 day and a 90 day entry visa. I see some online sources say to have at least $2,000 to $3,000. What’s important to write your itinerary plan, even if it’s tentative. And the money you have in the bank statement is reasonable enough to pay for your planned itinerary.
Hi, I believe u can do digitally. There’s actually an online version of the application form that u can just fill up directly. - I don’t recall an instruction that u must use black. I think blue should be fine.

Hi! They asked to see my visa so I had to log in. Yes, when I was exiting the Philippines, I had to hand in my passport and mobile phone with the eVisa showing. They didn’t ask me to log in in front of them, so maybe u can do a screen shot just as a fail safe. When I arrived in Japan technically they didn’t ask to see a visa. I just volunteered to show it to them. No problem! Glad this video helped!

Just got my visa today, took exactly 7 working days for all the process, the application was so easy I only had a hard time uploading my photo and my IDs which you’ve also mention, coz they’re really strict with file size, even if I put my photo settings into the least quality still didn’t meet the required size, so what I did was I took a photo of my ID then screen shot it and crop it, and it worked,😂😂 Really big thanks to your informative video, though one thing I didn’t follow from your vid was to include my flight from LA - MNL - JPN in my itinerary since my point of origin is also from US, but I guess they consider it through my round trip ticket which I also sent them. I listed it in my itinerary. I did not see the requirement asking to submit proof of accommodation from the website. Only saw flight reservation.

Hi! We flew Philippine airlines. No worries. Just look confident and show them ur evisa when u check in. The lady at my counter looked puzzled and called her supervisor. It worked out. The evisa has every info they need to document: visa no. And dates. You’ll be fine 👍🏻 and lots of people are actually using this method.

They simply ask you write down your plans on their itinerary form. (No need for purchased Disneyland tickets and Mt Fuji tour deals made prior to the trip, for example)

@@jaidaannviluan9664 hi! You’ll have to group all tickets into 1 pdf file. That’s how I uploaded my itinerary. Example: using my ipad, I had to screen shot each, and then click select on those pics, and open with ibooks. Once opened on ibooks, I forward/save the file and rename it tickets.

Hello! Just wondering how did you scan your id cards and passport? they cancelled my application because they said my driver license, PR card and passport are blurry. When I checked the documents I submitted I think they were okay and readable. I scanned everything using my printer's scanner. Now I am worried they won't proceed with my application again.
Hi! I’m sorry about that. I actually just took a picture of my license & PR card. I scanned my passport. It’s important to take note of the file size of the final scanned/saved image. The Japan website has a limited file size that they accept.
What’s tricky is when you upload ur images to the website it will ask you what size of file to upload it as. Try not to choose the lowest option.
Look at your scanned images and find a way to save & decrease file size without compromising clarity.
Try to email those files to yourself to actually see how they look.
When in doubt, just take a pic of your docs and as u save it, check ur phone camera settings to choose a lower save file and not make it HD.
I totally know what you’re going through cuz i had that issue before. I hope this works out, and please continue applying. Japan understands this issue. It’s common.

Hi, with a multipage itinerary/ flight detail, I combined them by converting them into a PDF file. And that’s what I uploaded.
Are u still able to access them? Delete what you’ve uploaded to make space. Edit your files into 1 pdf and upload that file?
Sir how did you make your itinerary? Do you have apps?
I use chat GPT, or you can google Japan or Tokyo itinerary. And mark down 1 recommended places in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening.
It’s doesn’t have to be a final itinerary, but as long as the embassy can see what your plans are and how u spend ur days there.
They told me : putting in a city isn’t enough. So I placed specific parts of the city I would like to visit.

Hi, Japan definitely would [not] recommend you purchase a ticket before a visa is issued because there is no guarantee. How do u get a ‘dummy’ ticket?
I’d suggest, in the process of booking a flight, right before you pay, take a screen shot of the flight details etc. make sure the dates on ur planned flights is the same date of ur accommodations & itinerary (aka visit plans). I believe one user has done this.
The key thing is to book and make plans at least 3 months ahead. And send your application.
If Japan would like more info on your flight, they will contact you - and if this happens, it means ur visa application is very close to completion. Japan doesn’t give u a hard time. And they understand, and expect that u [don’t] purchase a ticket yet.
Which ever way u choose, once you get your visa, just make sure you fly to Japan 👍🏻
Validity of your visa is based on your flight details (arrival date)* - either planned or purchased ticket.
@@thedanielgo it’s a website that will book the flight for me for 48th hours and they would give me everything like a real ticket and it is indeed a real ticket just reserved for two days for 18$ so if the embassy would check my flight on the airline website they will find it but only for two days then the reservation will expire and I will but all the information on it and submit it you think it will work? Since it’s kinda real but a heard someone said that they will reject it I don’t know really… but I want to do it since I have no other way and my trip is in the beginning of June and thank soo much for your fast reply
@@leena1002 since your trip is in June, you have more than enough time to Japan to process your visa.
You can gamble and try the dummy ticket which technically is a booking reference. But id strongly recommend making the purchase and immediately submitting your application. I understand the anxiety and I feel it too.
But if you think about it, a purchased ticked also gives financial confidence. And either way, you will still need to buy a ticket and fly within the dates of your visa validity. (And tickets will cost more closer to departure date. And! Summer is peak ish season).

Hi! Usually itinerary is flight itinerary. Schedule of stay is your plans. Your day to day plans. Even if it’s tentative, they want you to write it down. The timing doesn’t have to be specific. Just generally write down what u intend to do on those days. It’s not enough to put in the city or town.
You can put it: morning - fish market, afternoon museum, evening - river cruise. , whole day Mt Fuji day tour.

If not, wait for it a little. It won’t be long. They will advise on the next steps. But keep a look out for any prompts to pay for the visa fee so that your application will be completed.

I am also a permanent resident of the US. The problem for me is the flight itinerary. Did your itinerary have a reservation code (or) confirmation number? I am not comfortable purchasing a ticket before getting a visa in hand. Also, my itinerary and date of travel always change. So, I may just download the itinerary format online, make some changes to it and then submit them. Is that the same way you did that too?

Maybe u can try to book and pay later option and print that out. Or book a flight with free cancellation or change dates. You are correct. They generally recommend u not buy a ticket yet but I have to show proof of travel intention.
The eVisa validity will revolve around ur itinerary u submit. My visa validity started started in the day I would travel to Japan based on my itinerary.
Yes, download the itinerary form and just fill it up. U can always change when u get to Japan but what’s important are ur travel dates.
Disclaimer: I don’t work for the Japanese govt. everything I share is based on my personal experience and research.
*** they are actually very efficient. They are not strict. If something is missing or wrong, they will message u like they did with me. And it got resolved the day after. It’s actually a simple process.
Hi the evisa needed a flight ticket already?
Ideally they advise to not purchase a ticket cuz of possible delays. If you feel that you might have frequent changes and don’t want to buy-buy a ticket, either u you book a flight and pay later (some airlines allow this) and download that reservation. -- or, book/purchase a flight that allows free cancellation. This might cost more but in your case u have the intention of possibly adjusting flight dates or cancelling all together.

Hi! You are good 👍🏻 their processing time is usually 7 working days. Don’t worry if it says temporary received. Because once they officially receive it, the process it right away with a short turn around time.
You will get your evisas in time. It took mine 2 weeks total.

Hi Helen! Were u able to place the different hotel info in the itinerary form? If not, don’t worry. If they need more info, they will email straight away. And once u comply, u get feedback a day later.

Hi! Our family booked 2 hotels. But the embassy wanted a detailed itinerary of what we were to do on those days. So I had chat GPT make a 5 day itinerary for Tokyo. Of course I picked and edited things that were realistic to do and what interest us.
I don’t think there will be an issue with changing hotels. So you are good. This happens. -- what’s important is you take that trip :)
A booking confirmation is Fine. The consulate does not expect u to have a final booking. Sadly most hotels don’t offer just simply reservations nor free cancellations. But I’m confident your trip will push through :)

Hi Daniel, I just got my visa today. Your video is really helpful. They are fast and accurate. 5 working days processing, my uncomfortable feeling and anxiousness days turn excitement 😅. Because of my tight schedule flights, I thought it will not be happening to process my visa within the length of 2 weeks.(but jus turned 1 week). Hi! I think I know what you mean. I did have some issues uploading and cropping pic in their site. Here’s what I did:
1. I would log out and log in again. If it doesn’t work, I’d do it the following day. (I think sometimes they reboot their systems). *same for uploading files if you have any issue. Just log out and log in again.
2. I edited/cropped my photo within their system. Had to do it several times. If your pic is too close up, I would open that pic in a different canvas. Ensure background of canvas is same as background of pic, and then zoom out, and screen shot. - then try to upload and hopefully ur pic/face will fit within the circle of their required photo size.
***but my bet is number 1.

Do you think I should withdraw my application and do it again since for flight itinerary I only included round trip flight between Shanghai and Tokyo?
Also, when I upload the additional flight itinerary from USA to China, do I also need to upload my return flight itinerary from China to USA? Hi! Yes, I think you should withdraw and reapply while uploading all flights that lead to Japan. This is what happened to me. They asked for the further flights but took them 2 days to process my application once I complied.
There are some instances where they will cancel your application and not tell u why.
Best to not waste time and be sure :)

That’s a very good question: 1. If it’s purely a layover from international location to international location, you should be fine. **as long as they keep you within international departure areas.

Hi, I haven’t seen official requirement regarding how much you should have in your bank account. But I’m pretty sure they’d expect the same amount of money for those apply for a 15 day and a 90 day entry visa. I see some online sources say to have at least $2,000 to $3,000. What’s important to write your itinerary plan, even if it’s tentative. And the money you have in the bank statement is reasonable enough to pay for your planned itinerary.
Japan seems to be a very reasonable country. And very pro visitor.

Hi, I believe u can do digitally. There’s actually an online version of the application form that u can just fill up directly. - I don’t recall an instruction that u must use black. I think blue should be fine.
