It wasn’t though. Nick asked Dan to create a show based on music due to the success of Hannah Montana and HSM. Dan was figuring the show’s concept until Victoria mentioned that she previously went to a performing arts school. So Disney and Victoria’s school was the inspiration to the show.

Even 10 years later this is still one of the best movies Nickelodeon ever made. This movie is the reason why I decided to pursue show business. So underrated yet such an amazing film. It deserved better. Around the time this movie came out, my parents went on vacation and came home and they gave my brother a present but didn't give me anything; at first. Then my grandma said "Turn around" and when I did my dad had a DVD copy of Spectacular in his hands and I completely flipped. Probably gave him the biggest hug ever
