I never played this game and I got what to do from the tip dialog.
I beat this game when I was 7 with no tutorials but givin that I have uncommon commen sense and had beaten almost the Zelda franchise already this wasn't exactly shocking for me
To be honest, I didn't notice it either. xD
+FoundationAfro Yeah, PBG, even though I enjoy his humor, isn't the most observant gamer, but that seems to be the case with most TH-cam gamers. Maybe they are too distracted by having to talk to an unseen audience, idk. Most people I see on TH-cam make mistakes that seem baffling to me.
"But he has to talk and game at the same time thats hard!" - who cares. They should be smart enough to realise if something they're doing is frustrating to watch or not. Then use the * power of editing* to make it not frustrating. You know...? Just because all the footage has your commentary on it doesn't make it gold (lookin at you, grumps)

This is probably my favorite Mario game. I love the music and everything about it. It brings back so many memories. I grew up playing this game. They should remaster it or/and make a sequal. Thanks for the series PBG! Please play Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door next or Banjo Kazooie!!!

by all means, it's a game for kids and even when someone never played it before, it's quite easy to figure out what to do...especially when fludd tells it step by step

This was a cool playthrough. I've never watched a youtuber play Super Mario Sunshine blind before. I liked listening to PBGs views on the game, having no history with it. And I even learned a few things about the game, too.
Good job, PBG! Now can you do some more Hardcore on this channel? Or maybe Mario chaos edition? Those were really fun to watch.

Jesus christ, I still love that scene between Bowser and Bowser Jr, as after Sunshine Bowser Jr became just a "im here" character, rather than developing more about him and his father.

Because I've seen plenty of comments about it (and I agree), you should really play Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
If you do decide to play it, heads up: You MUST be at least level 30 to beat the game, trust me... The Shadow Queen is a nightmare.

why is it that super mario sunshine is the least popular super mario game? this game is my childhood just like super mario 64 was my younger childhood but still 64 was very popular unlike sunshine, sunshine has great tropical vibes!

I had a pretty similar experience as a kid, where I played Mario 64 when I was really young and went onto Sunshine later. For me personally, I loved the Tropical setting and the FLUDD mechanics, as well as the goo. What I didn't end up liking were the games physics and the lack of freedom. Don't get me wrong, I loved the crap out of Sunshine as a kid, and especially loved the larger variety of missions, but for me it was always the sheer polish and open design of 64 that made to like it slightly more than Sunshine when I was a kid. That being said, I have HUNDREDS of hours invested in those freaking games, and got every penny's worth of their value in enjoyment.

Paper Mario? One of my favourite game series growing up! I really got into A Thousand Year Door. Not so much for "viewer suggestion stars" or things like that, but they have like a Help Board which could be the viewer suggestion stars stuff where you can get some cool gear. Just a suggestion - Keep rocking. Woot
I would really love to see you play Donkey Kong 64. Tough game to beat. It would make lovely PBG rampaging moments. I like those!!

This is the episode I've been waiting for. Super Mario Sunshine was one of the first games I ever played but, since I'm more into shooting and am horrible at games like these, I never finished it. I've seen basically everything PBG has done but have yet to see the finale. Can't wait. It definitely, possitively, without a doubt won't disappoint years of waiting :P
So now that this is done... MineZ HC #2 anytime soon? We were kinda promised it before 2016.
It's impressive how many times PBG managed to die on one of the easiest end-bosses in Mario history. It's a beautiful microcosm of his aptitude with this game.
Yet he completed Pachinko Machine and Watermelon Festival pretty easily. Oh PBG, never change. 😂

***** I never played Sticker Star XD I stopped after SPM -- Anyway, I just don't prefer it over the other two games. It took away a lot of the classic rpg feel that the first two had and that was a big part of what I loved about it. Also the flipping between 3D and 2D drove me a bit nuts and the navi-esque sprites that followed you around were irritating at times. It just wasn't my cup of tea to be honest, and I'm entitled to that opinion.The Thousand Year Door had GREAT dungeons. A fun, interesting, plot, great little side quests, fun bosses, fun combat style, fun mechanics, loved EVERY single partner (I will never get over bitch-slapping people with Miss Mouse), and the end dungeon was just so..it was one of my favorite end dungeons ever. Easily up in my top 10. And it has great replay value. For me, it just never gets old. I will replay Thousand Year Door til the day I die, SPM? I probably won't ever pick that game up again.

Okay but can we appreciate the final boss theme? It's so hard to hear over the the bullet bills but it's a really nice under-appreciated theme
Those guys at the start who are like "I am done with that guy" is like a joke that has been going on throughout the game because those two have always been fighting and arguing. You have just never talked to them so you wouldn't know the joke.
And that guy who followed the current is the guy stranded on the beach.
I am still surprised you did the last level so fast! But of course I suck, I used like two years on that last level, lol.

PBG- I know this is WAY after the fact, but if you had only used the rocket launcher as the rocks were falling away under your feet, you would have saved yourself some serious time. You can rocket launch again after you ground pound... it's a last resort if you can't jump back to the "hot tub" quickly enough.
Glad you enjoyed the game. It was my first 3D Mario game I played as a kid, and I loved seeing someone play this for the very first time. It made me remember how I felt when this game first came out. Great work and congrats on finishing the series! :)
Please do the Paper Mario games, but most importantly Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

I love how you have to hurt the shadow Mario with the water, but at 2:15, he just jumps in the water.....

You know what I think it is that makes this game less enjoyable than other 3D Mario games?
I can't speak for him, but I think PBG will agree with me when I say this - it's the camera. That thing just gets in the way all the time, in the most inconvenient of places. It is incredibly frustrating, and mars what would otherwise be a very strong Mario game.
+Kurtis C. I like the camera in this game. The free movement lets you get it in a good spot at most times.
It's a better camera than 64 at least (which has a pretty bad camera.)
+KINGOFDASLIPPYS I prefer a free movement camera, but Sunshine did not implement it nearly as well as I would have liked.

Exactly.
This is the only 3D Mario game where you have free control of the camera. It gives you full control at all times and it won't even get stuck on walls and stuff (unlike other 3D games where it snaps around and can get stuck on walls.)
