I bought a Big Tree Tech Pi v2.1 a year ago because it was cheap but didn't have any particular use in mind for it. I saw this video and installed a Linux OS on it, attached a WiFi antenna and 5v power bank and put everything in a printed enclosure. It makes a great portable appliance for this CloudCutter firmware. I installed Tuya-cloudCutter and flashed a bunch of Merkury WW281 WiFi plugs I bought by mistake. They use the WB2S module. I got every one of them converted, hallelujah! Good video that saved me a migraine.

I have a gosund lamp I haven't used in a long time because I sunset all my Tuya crap, at the time cloudcutter wouldn't work on it but I need to give it another go.

Very good video from start to finish, I'd like to see a part 2 for new users on the settings for the yamls, what they do and reccomended and advance settings. Give like a good little overview so if someone is setting up a new device they can understand how to start building a devices Yaml.
Keep up the great information videos!

Worked for one device so far! (I've only tried one, it was a Globe Plug) I'm excited to ditch the Tuya control (even the local mod is still annoying). The video inspired me to finally pick up a used Pi 3+ and get this running. Worked first try without any issues. Great guide (website)! Cheers!

Great guide! I was able to cloudcut one KMC 3AC power strip, and the other I had to transplant with ESP8266 as it had the newer Tuya firmware. I know I could have flashed the beken chip after I desoldered it, but I already had an extra ESP-02S. BTW, those beken 72xx boards take a bit of effort to flash via ltchiptool; ie proper 3.3VDC and a good TTL adapter. Also, I was successful following your video and using virtualbox instead of a raspberry pi. The only trick is to use plain debian and a USB wifi stick that supports creating an AP (access point) via nmcli. And for those who are looking to try something different (and save some money), you can also use a raspi-zero-w where you use the onboard bluetooth for your connection to the board, then run cloudcutter and/or tuya-convert where you use the wifi to do your cloudcutting. Such fun.

I followed everything, pi ready. I have a tuya ceiling fan with chip WBR3, although I'm not able to set it on AP mode I've tried switching on and of several times, the controller box doesn't have a button. I've also noticed that the connection between the WBR3 and the main board is via RX and TX, which I don't know if it's going to be possible to install esphome and control the fan.
What do you think, any advise?

@digiblurDIY so I'll have to stick with tuya or local tuya integration.

Also, how can I accurately identify whether a device can be converted? I'm looking at a wifi socket with a firmware of 1.0.2, but how do I identify more details? I'm using multi manager, so they are currently managed by HA, Google Home and the aidot app (for when my kids want the lighting effects in their room.) Also have matter smart plugs all over, no issues there. I think they might have fixed whatever bugs previously existed, because it's been great. 30+ matter devices in my setup.
