More than likely The metal did not get hot enough for the weld to stick properly and there Will be plenty of slag inclusions that will open up when that thing is under any form of stress.
Considering it is thin metal, and hes stick welding, very difficult to stick weld thin unless you use small diameter rods. Those welds dont look bad, plus you dont no the application. Maybe these were handrails, and those are pretty strong for that purpose.

Good welds don't have to be pretty, although that's a plus. My brother and dad were both good welders. I saw their work, and it put to the test. Their welds didn't look horrible, or messy, but they weren't pretty, either. I worked with them, and with another guy who made the most beautiful-looking clean welds that I've ever seen. They wouldn't hold $#!†. He made something for me, and one of the welds popped off when I tried to bend the piece a little to make an adjustment. Grinding the weld smooth is a good practice. Hello, your arguments are very valid although I have for me that if the structure does not demand extraordinary strength, a very good finish and view is achieved. Regards.
Because most welders are trying to make a living and the extra time it takes to do this, with no additional structural strength, is wasted. A stronger and better looking product can be made faster by using other, more standard techniques.
E nak you could just get two seperate pieces of metal create the curve in one end and weld them together. Personally if you use a plasma cutter its alot easier not as clean though there is some slag left. A torch is about the worst way because it heats up the metal and changes its tensile strength. Another way would be to get a machine and just simply bend the tube which can be done even with something round. There is one secret that welders wont tell you how to create a 45° without damaging the material in any way shape or form but I'm not giving that one up easy lol. Go to google you cab find it there.
I thought the end result looked pretty damn good! I'm no welder but he looked pretty professional to me. A well made video and 1000 dislikes? Bullshit by bullshiters
A tube bender would cost as much as it'd take to pay a welder to cut, bend, and weld a few of these joints, and with the time it'd save, it'd pay itself off after one job.
This was refreshing after viewing several TH-cams about septic tanks. I'm still not sure how I got here but am glad I did. It just goes to show that at 80, I still have a lot to learn. Uniqueness is appealing and though there are faster ways to do a right angle, this has a certain appeal. Thanks!

Here is why no welder talks about it or uses it:
1. too difficult to cut with simple machinery, so you need too much time for a joint
2.structural integrity, the reason both ends are cut to 45° if you want to reach 90° is that the forces are equally distributed throughout your workpiece
3. welding stress, since you weld on one side more than the other, the stress introduced due to the heat will deform your workpiece in an asymetrical way, which is what you dont want

Pretty cool picture frame heh
I thought the end result looked pretty damn good! I'm no welder but he looked pretty professional to me. A well made video and 1000 dislikes? Bullshit by bullshiters
👍 gracias muy bueno!!!
I'm just liking all the comments, even the ones written in ancient symbols that I don't understand.
Pretty sure that's Russian your thinking of. Can't read it, but I can understand it when it's spoken. Freaking Cyrillic is some crazy stuff.
They're probably saying the same thing about you
@@KïngGòóber69 nope. We don't. =)
Lol, cyrillic is younger, than the latin alphabet :)
@@ПетрСтраумал Really!!? Nice to know, thanks.
In this primitive tribe,
one must weld straight pole into bent pole in order to become a man!
Yes, and to have plumbing which is good. Won't find many women installing or welding much of anything either...lol.
@@apostatejim2080 what
Aho!
You're a primitive tribe.
LMFAO 😎👍
Answer to the title: because it takes too long and there are drums playing all throughout the process.
Andre Neil I’m literally crying
Underrated 😂
to appease the welding gods
too long? it only took 4 minutes and about 30 seconds
@@ernestonoir5796 he meant longer compared to how it's traditional done.
Great idea! 🍫🍫🍫
I never searched for it.
And you didn't too.
Truth
But for some reason it was satisfying to me and I watched it till the end lol
But it has 18 mln views
True what is this here? Wow a guy who is working....
I dont know why the algo recommended me this, but I'm not complaining .
Lol ikr!
my favorite part is how you can hear all these angry welders banging on his door while he is showing their secret!
😂
Just about spit out my food while reading this comment 😂
It's more like taboo
😂😂😂😂
vagadagadingdong Open this door, Bjorn!😡😂
A great way to piss off the owner of the shop I work for and get fired for wasting time
id use a plasma to cut it faster then the grinder
A tube bender would cost as much as it'd take to pay a welder to cut, bend, and weld a few of these joints, and with the time it'd save, it'd pay itself off after one job.
@@joshua.merrill And you cant bend a tube with this small of a radius
@@joshua.merrill good luck with finding a die for square tube with that radius
@@kaptein1247 You can get close enough to make this joint not worth doing.
"Did you ever hear the tragedy of the secret profile pipe?"
"No."
"I thought not. It's not a story the welders would tell you."
¿A alguien más youtube le recomendó esto en plena cuarentena? 😂😂 mi historial de búsqueda se está poniendo muy raro😅

That's called copywriting

@@NikosGardanis How do you figure???
Well it's no secret now is it?!!
Great idea! Thanks for sharing.
Music so intense I didn’t know I was also welding when this video ended.

"Remember, kids! Grinder and paint will make you the welder you ain't!"
Nothing wrong with grinding turkey shit if the penetration is good lol
@Dick Little it's an old hillbilly term, nothing too serious. Like if you forgot to turn your gas on you will be grinding turkey shit all afternoon.
Some prints call for it it’s not all showing your dimes. Stick welding thin material is prob a chore.
To all of you who missed the reference, I was quoting a video called "Shit welders say"
👍👍👍😂 you're so right!
This was refreshing after viewing several TH-cams about septic tanks. I'm still not sure how I got here but am glad I did. It just goes to show that at 80, I still have a lot to learn. Uniqueness is appealing and though there are faster ways to do a right angle, this has a certain appeal. Thanks!

@@constructionsecrets6048 that video is a hack job. This video is mastery at work.
Huge difference in workmanship and clarity.
sorry, but i disagree. Look at the rest of the comments. I think i will weld the same corner. I will give credit to where it came from. I will tell you in my vid why welders dont talk about it.
У нас говорят: "Век живи, век учись!" (We say: "Live for a hundred years, study for a hundred years!"

Only idiots work that way, it's much longer than a 45 degree cut
Very good idea skill.. Super 👌 very super

Why is TH-cam recommending me this just why
$$$$$
This is a good question
I was watching videos of russian hardbass and then it told me to watch this. Lol
yeeah... 5min lost lifetime...
I also watched it in Japan now because it was recommended.
But this video was interesting.

Da fabbro complimenti se hai altri segreti fallì vedere sono bene accetti 😉👏👏
You have betrayed the welders guild by revealing this secret to the world.
This is what happens when the TH-cam *"recommended"* algorithm has a brain fart.
You seemed to have misspelled "starts actually showing interesting videos"
Happens to me
I think the algorithm is some guy named Joe and once in a while he takes a big bong rip and sends these vids out because it's hilarious.
“Yes, son. You really CAN get rich by posting obscure stuff on TH-cam.”
Pretty cool though.
Most impressive....although the drums. But smart. Very smart. Thx for sharing.
