I’m from qatar originally, I’m really proud of what my country is hosting and providing the whole world what islamic & arabic culture is about, it saddens me how foreigners who don’t know what’s really happening in my country and judging us based on false knowledge given from hypocritical Islamphobic western media, i also believe that the truth will be revealed and overcome falsehood in every situation possible and truth always finds its way , may Allah bless you all and be on your side ❤️
My full respect for Qatar, how FIFA has been organised and how it is running smooth, you can feel the blessing all around. Visitors are facing true spirit inside Islamic land, they can now see that what media is trying to propagate is true falsehood. People are happy, safe and enjoying the games without indulging in alcohol. Women and children are loving to watch games feeling safe.
I have been living in Qatar as an expat for almost a decade now.
Love and respect for Qatar. I pray that Allah always keeps this land and its people safe and prosperous.
🛑 regardless of the religious ruling, but can you imagine what would've happened had the emirates (uae) hosted the world cup? ppl would've been introduced to buddhism, sikhism, hinduism, ibrahimism, sihir (witchcraft), money laundering & around 100,000 prostitutes between dubai & abu dhabi...
I am saying this bcz I believe that most of the attacks against qatar are originated by the emirates (uae)... after all they (uae) spent billions 9ver 12 yrs to prevent a world cup in qatar... & the result? they had to go to qatar during the world cup & congragulate them 😆😂🤣

I'm really happy and blessed to listen to you for at least 15 years. Your realistic and wise approach is really impressive and efficient. You can't imagine how many imams, through social networks, here in Morocco🇲🇦, blame all those who watch this world Cup while 99,99% are actually watching it. As you put it rightly it doesn't add up. Something is wrong. Either we are all sinful or those imams don't acknowledge many dimensions of human psychology and social reality. جزاك الله خيرا

And before to start with the awra let's see our whole financial system that is haram in ALL MUSLIM COUNTRIES. there is a hierarchy in priorities and obviously some salafi minded people have a huge blindspot that prevent them from figuring it out. They would rather focus on the size of the beard and stuff like this than fundamental issues, political , sociological, financial, and psychological dimensions or issues that destroy us.

I love this World Cup. I love Qatar and Qataris because they have shown the beauty and the true face of Islam. I love how syariah is implemented while at the same time respecting humanity. Though I do not have a chance to watch the matches there, I am happy to follow what is going on there day by day.
Concerning the syariah that is implemented there, how I wish my country does the same. Will my whishes come true and when? I can only pray.

Qatar World Cup 2022 is a massive success both on the pitch as well as off the pitch, the awesome presentation of Arabic Culture, Qatari Culture, Islamic culture. And those who criticize they should understand hosting World Cup is a business decision. It is meant to make profit and advertise that country. Every country has to make profits to prosper and earn enough that it can survive and be respected and not invaded by others. And on the side there was a lot of dawah given, lot of people reverted, and lot of people took benefit from Islamic scholars. The image of Qatar was improved, the Image or middleeast was improved. Let us not be cynical for every thing. Jazak Allah Khair, Moulana Dr.Yasir Qadhi for the reminder.

What I have seen of fifa this year is that it has bought a lot of good and exposed many hypocrisy .
Of the good Muslim nations are winning are getting to next round which shows that they are not to be taken for granted.
Qatar's various effort to show it is an islamic country is courageous when rest of the Arab nations are trying to westernise themselves and have low self-esteem about their identity.
Not towing to the standards and moral set by the European is in itself a small victory and is challenging islamophobia.
This time it has united the Muslim ummah as well, not belonging to a football playing nation and not much of a fan I still am excited and happy when saudi Arabia, morroco and Tunisia etc are winning.
I've learned to tune out the finger pointing noisy people of the Masajid and as a result I'm now surrounded by people of mercy and Ikhlas Al Hamdulillah.

I can only wish that we also have someone like Sh. Dr. YQ in Bangsamoro, Philippines. Our ulama are busy bickering on Sunni-Shia, Salafi-Ashaira and bid'ah issues. I am surprised that Shaykh Yasir Qadhi doesn't consider this world cup a dajjal ka fitnah. When entertainment is taking centre stage in our lives.
And, what about the companies sponsoring the world cup ? They are raking in billions of dollars. How ethical are some of those companies ?
It's not just harmless entertainment. There are layers and layers to be dissected in this issue.

Several authentic ahadith describe how Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) ﷺ arranged horse racing - even placing horses in categories. Here is one Hadith:
Hadith No: 129
Narrated/Authority of Abdullah bin Umar
The Prophet (SAW) arranged for a horse race amongst the horses that had been made lean to take place between Al-Hafya and Thaniyat Al-Wada (i.e. names of two places) and the horses which had not been made lean from Ath-Thaniyat to the mosque of Bani Zuraiq. I was also amongst those who took part in that horse race. Sufyan, a sub-narrator, said, "The distance between Al-Hafya and Thaniya Al-Wada is five or six miles; and between Thaniyat and the mosque of Bani Zuraiq is one mile."

No one is complaining about sports here? I think some people knowingly are twisting the facts. The problem here is money was spent like water for building the infrastructure, but the people involved in building were treated like 3rd class citizens, bonded labor. This is not what Islam teaches us.They were taken u due advantage of to please and entertain the wealthy. One will be answerable to Allah swt for this.

I think however that ‘lowering your gaze when the haraam comes out’ during the match doesn’t sound real. “Let’s be real”
Why wouldn’t it be real? Why can’t you just switch the channel to something else once the first half is over and all the adds start showing up. Just tune out and tune back in after 15min.

As salamualikum. Alhamdulillah. JajakAllah Khairan for the wonderful reflection on FIFA 2022 by this renowned Islamic scholar for the present and future generations of Muslims living in Western countries and around the globe. Difference of opinion is acceptable but hostality is always Haram. Allah SWT created human being with honor in different Nations and languages. We have to be positive to protrate events around us within the boundary of Shariah. Even during Prophet-s time there were incidents of enjoing fun by our Mother Ayesha (RA) with Prophet. May Allah SWT accept the good intention of Qatar Govt for preaching Islam among the humanity. Ameen.

In the same way, I don't think people attend the world cup because invitation to Islam will be given , the temptation to attend and watch the world cup is for the fun and enjoyment

There has been so much positive impact from the FIFA football World Cup. Raising the Palestinian issues / creating a family friendly and safe atmosphere at a football match / positive image of Muslims and Islam. BTW Qatar is not the first World Cup hosts to ban alcohol in the stadiums, it’s just been highlighted at this one by Islamaphobics.
