I'm very happy you posted this Jemma (sp?). There's not enough explanation out there for hoops and where to use them, and most importantly what they look like on the bride! Can you add more videos of people walking in the dress?

It is an Aline petticoat. It is a two hoop one, but we took the lower hoop out, so there is only hoop the middle. It creates a softer look but still has structure.
Not in our experience, the slit is designed to cut into the skirt, not only for a softer look but to see the leg. Some suppliers now do underskirts for dresses with slits. They have petticoats that create more fullness from back of the dress and side
