My dark ride idea: Arthur Weasley started a tour company for muggles to sight see the wizard world. He lets you borrow his blue car. (That’s the ride vehicle) you fly over the train making its way to Hogsmede, you fly over the womping willow, you see the castle in the distance but it’s a real set, you fly over the black lake. No scary elements, except maybe the car stalling out and you diving a bit, but no scary stuff so kids can ride. Kind of like flight of passage if it was a dark ride with practical sets. High lighting the wonder and awe of the early movies/books. Arthur could be the tour guide, and different characters can pop in if they wanted too. You’re welcome Universal.
I love the idea of a Wizarding Boat ride, and I think this concept could be themed to "Globus Mundi". They already have a Wizarding Travel Agency in the Carkitt Market section of Diagon Alley, and if you wanted to see places from the movies (and maybe some places we didn't get to see, yet), then taking an enchanted boat through Portals to all of these places seems a workable conceit. A cool, refreshing, all-ages Harry Potter ride would be fantastic.
Yea the boat ride idea sounds good but doesn’t really fit with Diagon Alley and a good portion is stuff we already have. Azkaban is another big location we haven’t seen, and since it isn’t shown much in the movies or books they have more freedom for how they create it too.
I would love that family friendly Harry Potter dark ride idea!! Imagine going through the chamber of secrets or recreating the first film!! I would love there to be one scene through the forbidden forest and seeing a giant Aragon animatronic with spiders overhead. Like just have one frightful scene. Have the kids conquer their fear. Please I love this attraction idea!!
the only problem is that would need to be in or near hogwarts at IoA. Wouldn't make much sense to have it a Diagon alley. There's also a chamber scene in the forbidden journey ride
If they do the night bus idea, it needs to be a Segway into the main ride, like a transition between worlds like they have on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Have one of those absurd waiting rooms they have become that and then lead the guests to the main ride.
I'd love to see the Burrow... maybe you can make an indoor dark ride where you apparate to different HP locations and you can make the sets large scale like kongfrontation was. You could visit the burrow, privet drive, and a few others
20:56 And maybe you can also sneak in a reference to the Jaws ride if you encounter Mer-People because of the scene involving the Shark-Head guy. It's a genius tribute waiting to happen.
Going to Diagon Alley would be a new experience for me, as I haven't been there yet, but I imagine you'd want something new if you've done it all. Hopefully, the land will get that new ride in 2028 or so.

You were talking about London footprint being too big for MIB to be eaten by it. But if the rumors are true about Pokémon taking over Simpsons, they could make it a Nintendo themed shop in the front and use the building in the back for the HP ride
I honestly believe the 2 rides that jeopardize USF are Minion Mayhem and Transformers. The placement of these rides created a domino effect that caused the park to have an identity crisis and feel disjointed altogether. Minion land should have taken over Kidzone and Transformers should have gone behind New York.
Also, I love the idea of leaving fear factor live and MIB alone because I would to replace that not with HP, but i would replace it with Amity Island and bring back JAWS to the park!!!
@@JimmytheDestroyer-x5v well I first I would make it an indoor boat ride similar to PotC (Shanghai), so the ride would replace MIB and most of the restaurants and shops would replace Fear Factor Live stage
This is an easy fix for Universal Studios. Harry Potter takes over F&F area. F&F takes over RRR, like they are building in California. And the Simpson’s becomes a Back to The Future inside rollercoaster or outside.
I was hoping the dreamworks area would have a lot more. No shrek rides?? Or even like a life-size version of the swamp. The experience rides made me feel nauseated and some are a bit dull. Also I agree with others, the stunt show was very impressive!!
I one hundred percent agree about the family dark ride not sure about a boat ride I think there are better IP’s for that idea but I think it’d be hilarious and just a slap in the face joke to the people who criticised the wizarding Paris to London ministry and have people travel from diagon alley to the French ministry of magic and do a family dark ride based on newt and his animals
Here is what I think they should do in place of the fast and furious failure. They should do something akin to the ET ride but through the Forbidden Forest and on a broom. This way u can walk through the forest and see a bunch of animatronics and then take off on the broom when there is “danger” and that’s when they can include some of the flying creatures during that sequence. It’s just a thought but the ET ride is one of my favorites since I was a kid for a reason.
They should 100% remove the fast & furious section and replace it with an expansion to knockturn alley where you travel to Malfoy’s manor and escape from their dungeon or something. Would be a fun dark ride rollercoaster like the mummy.
Fear Factor is a huge people eater for HHN, and they've had a lot of capacity problems with HHN in the most recent years because it's so popular, also it's usually during hurricane season so people's trips end up moving and overpopulating the park. I understand their hesitance to get rid of it 😂
Love the idea of going into fast and furious, the only issue is Hogwarts express is directly blocking it. If they wanted to go around they would have to go back behind gringots through the service road which would be interesting to say the least. Great idea! Just tough
We just got back our trip to Universal (my first ever time going). Gotta say, Diagon Alley disappointed me a little. It definitely needs a little more love.
I would much prefer they use the spaces for Fear Factor, Fast & Furious, and Jimmy Fallon and give them over to beloved, iconic IP's like Jaws, Ghostbusters, Tomb Raider, Back to the Future, Beetlejuice, etc.
I'm pondering the future of Harry Potter at Universal at all...not it's existence, but with WB's franchise reboot, they may pressure Universal to retheme to the new actors. The initial teaser had the movie version of Hogwarts, but who knows what the extent of the differences will be? 2010 Daniel Radcliffe is immortalized on shopping bags and advertising in perpetuity. New actors will likely have franchise extensions in their contracts for this purpose that weren't even considered when the film series first started...
Expand Diagon Alley to fear factor stage area and MIBs dead IP. Then do a ride feature of Harry’s departure from Little Winging where he faces Voledemort on brooms coupled with location specific sites for the Weasley house and the Dursley’s.
I don't think it really needs it yet. Diagon Alley is always crowded, no matter the day of week or time, getting through there is a headache. With Hogsmede a train ride away and the Epic Universe expansion, I don't see an immediate need to jump. As people have speculated, either the stages or Supercharged will get the expansion if it happens, but until it really dips, which won't happen with the new crop of Epic park goers, I don't see the rush. If they can squeeze a few more years out of it, without investing more into it, they will. Epic is the focus now.
Hey, don't diss Bourne Stuntacular. That attraction is pretty amazing, unlike the other crap you listed (DreamWorks... yawn...). Though I agree it isn't driving new visitors to the park.
Hottest of hot takes Epic Universe doesn’t so near the numbers you tubers predict. This isn’t the magic kingdom coming to a barren Orlando. I predict 5 million in 2025. Is anyone here going in September?
My idea for an expansion area of the Harry Potter universe would be to recreate the Quidditch World Cup, with the lines in the middle of the camp that we saw in the film and books. We would have the entire structure of a stadium, but inside it would be a simulator in the style of Avatar Flight of Passage, where we would be a player on top of a broomstick in the World Cup final game... the glasses they used in the match would be 3D glasses, and we would have a wind effect to give an extra realism to the immersion.
I like the dark ride idea but think something mixed with dark ride and Hagrids style would be fun. but I also feel if they did a water boat style there it would be better to bring a small version of jaws back instead
In all seriousness, I think the show building for fast and furious should be their version of an epic movie ride. Also, for Diagon alley imma be honest it doesn’t need anything. However if they had to add something they could use fear faction’s stage for a Gringotts training show (comedy) where they train you to be a worker at gringotts but funny things happening during training.
It’s not a ride, but I’ve always thought it’d be cool to explore The Burrow and maybe buy Molly’s homey knitwear. Or maybe finally make up for Goblet of Fire and have some immersive 3D IMAX stadium where fans can watch the Quidditch World Cup.
Universal needs to drop all the screen based rides. One of the things they used to do so well was real rides like King Kong, earthquake, and Jaws. People have a real craving for that type of ride. Look at Rise of the Resistance at Disney. It has some virtual elements but it has way more practical.
They need to add 2 Intamin Dynamic Motion Stages to the fear factor plot. theme it to voldemort or something and call it a day. it would be a hit. capacity killer and fits within the plot.
How about a full welcome to hogwarts ride, the boats, first dinner {with smells!} the sorting hat - each vehicle gets randomly sorted and then at the end you visit that common room
They have been moving much of back of house buildings out to the epic universe land…so they could also expand BEHIND Diagon…not just south or fear factor
They should put their version of a great movie ride in fast and furious’s show building. Also for Diagon alley they could make a gringotts show where the plot is their training you but death eaters invade looking for Harry Potter!
You have to trust me: I immediately thought happy and heart warming dark ride. I didn't think of boat. Maybe add some small splashdowns (no wetness) where the story reaches a crescendo. Maybe a Merman hologram crawls in and says "hi" (strike that - not happy!). Maybe the two ships coming out of water from Goblet of Fire??
Here's an idea: what about doing an indoor Flying Broomsticks carousel, themed like a Quidditch Tournament. It would be playful and festive and is something young kids can enjoy (since as you point out there is nothing for youngsters, and appealing to a new generation of Potter fans would be good). Parents can sit in the "grandstands" around the perimeter. Hope on a broomstick which goes up and down and fly around!
I think that a Ford Anglia ride would be a better fit for the London area considering the theme. Maybe having all of the scenes from Chamber of secrets but finishing in London again, just to prevent loosing the theming of Diagon Ally/ London
I love the dark ride area in the F&F building, but I still think it needs to tie in with the story timeline. There are a few good ideas in the comments.... Like using the Author Weasley Muggle Tours in the Ford Anglia 2 that flies and is a portkey for travel to different places. Start with friendly scenes of the wizarding world, but in the middle of the tour have Tonks or Madeye fly in pursuing 2 death eaters. The group is asked to become honorary aurors to help track down these thieves, which becomes a faster paced ride through darker areas from the movies. We can watch out the windows as a few more aurors pursue and battle the death eaters around the car. In the end, the criminals are caught as we find out that the thing they have from Borgin and Burkes was something significant from the storylines or lore (even something from Fantastic Beasts) and the group can be portkeyed back to diagon alley again safely as heroes. It would become a family adventure that would be worth repeating.
Yeah once epic universe opens in may 2025 all eyes are on universal studios, as for what’s most likely to happen first is rip ride rocket closing. I would not be surprised if they announced the closing sometime in summer 2025 and the official closing date to be sometime in December 2025, which then gives universal 1 year and half to build whatever the replacement is, and have a new ride open sometime in 2027. Going further it really just depends what the rip ride rocket replacement is, if it’s something F&F related like it was rumored, I would assume the original F&F attraction would close, making room for the Harry Potter attraction. However if the rip ride rocket replacement is something brand new and not themed to F&F then the original ride will most likely still stay open. However even then whichever option it is I don’t see them expanding Harry Potter before dealing with simpsons and men and black. Simpsons is most likely to be replaced before men and black due to the Disney contract, I would not be surprised if they used the cleared land behind the Coca Cola shop, since they built new sprunk hhn tents farther back and it leaves them room to expand back there. Eventually men and black will come to the end of its life cycle and I wouldn’t be surprised whatever replacement it is uses that land if the simpsons land doesn’t use it first. As for the fear factor stage, it was rumored that universal realizes that the hhn show there is super popular and people would get really mad if that show wasn’t around, so as for that stage, most likely they’d build a backstage stage somewhere in universal to host the show before closing the fear factor stage, once it’s closed they’d probably add that plot of land with the men and black replacement to make a bigger land, or use it for Harry Potter depending on if rip ride rockets replacement is F&F or not. As for what’s likely to happen rip ride rocket will be something original, the contract posted a few weeks ago was for an imtamin built ride, possibly the vertical launch model imtamin has, something a little tamer than velsoicoaster, probably generally themed to studio stuff. Yes it was rumored for F&F spinning roller coaster to replace rip ride, but I don’t see universal doing that currently, it doesn’t fit the New York section of the park, and to have a F&F roller coaster sweeping through city walk in the front there doesn’t make sense. But who knows, universal has done some weird stuff, like 2018 vs 2019, 2018 opened a horrible bus ride (F&F) but the next year in 2019 opened up one of the best themed roller coasters ever. Also one last thing is villin con. I think universal is starting to realize that that attraction was a flop, I think they wish they could have done a ride system like Toy Story mania shooting ride, if they did something like that that ride would have been much better, rumors had that concept originally but the building apparently needed major updates if that was going to happen plus the sound stage was to small overall for it, I think for villin con half the stage is still going to be used for hhn but they never built a house in there yet, wouldn’t be surprised if they did next year in 2025 since they don’t like the F&F house location
What is it with resorts like Universal and Disney using screens on their rides? If I wanted to watch a screen, I could just stay in my hotel room, or just stay home.
Studios is so tiring making these awful recent decisions. I truly can’t wrap my mind around it. Villancon is so bad. Dreamworks very mediocre. It’s time to invest some $$$ into this park!
Forbidden Journey needs improvement. The Dementors and spiders segments have to be revised. The ride is completely dark with nothing much happening. Diagon Alley should move the tiny stage to the Fear Factor theater for a full show. That’s what I would want.
I don't think they can expand to FFSC, at least with Diagon Alley. They already have an entrance for a new attraction built in to Diagon near the Hopping Pot. The piece of land that Fear Factor sits on is about 3x the size of the land the Haunted Mansion sits on. They could easily build a "Haunted Mansion" Type ride through Malfoy Manor.
Imo they will close Rip Ride Rocket first. They will build an intamin drift coaster just like the one in Hollywood in its place. It will be themed to fast and furious. Once its done, they will close the fast and furious ride and expand Diagon alley into that area.
Current rumor is rip rode rocket is being demolished and intamin has already filed permits for that a few weeks ago and we are going to get a fast and furious roller coaster something similar to the Hollywood version but not identical. So hopefully they will make that expansion for Harry Potter sooner than later
Yeah I saw that rumor but it just doesn’t seem like that will happen, that themed ride would not fit in the New York section of the park sweeping through that area and in front of city walk, plus if you had the entrance where the current entrance of rip ride rocket is, then that would be even weirder, I also heard that they could demolish the old entrance and build the new station near the exit of the tribute store on the side, however I think universal might not be looking to do that since that would cost a whole lot more money. The other possibility is the intamin vertical launch model, this could fit well in this area and play a little tribute to rip ride rocket trying to keep the vertical hill but replace it with a launch, and the theme be something studio generic theme. I still see them doing something completely new and not themed to F&F. But yeah no matter what it is rip ride rocket is most likely closing soon, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s closing sometime in December 2025 with them announcing closure in summer 2025 then with construction probably 1 year and half the new ride would be open sometime in 2027
In all honesty I kinda would have liked the Harry Potter broomstick ride I mean I’m a huge fan of VR so it would have been a win for me but that’s just my opinion
@@KikiMeowKittyI love Lord of the rings. The only issue is you have to make it with broad appeal. I don't think you can do that in a theme park setting
While boat ride is a cute concept, but thematically it makes no sense given we are supposed to be in London. While the time turner is a stretch to incorporate a “canon” understanding, we can be even more simplistic here. Rather than a boat ride, we can use the weasley’s car. Story is as simple as it should be for a kids ride: Weasley twins grant muggles a flight tour to Hogwarts, shenanigans happen, we fly back to London. Practically ET adventure but Harry Potter. And people will argue we already have et but may I remind everyone we have three motion simulators in one park. If they allow that they can do this concept
Hi good Ideas for this video, I love it. But how about they take The Simpsons, Fear Factor, and MIB and take that to an aria for old films. Jaws, Back to the Future, Beetle Juice,Terminator, ect. That will bring back the old rides but make them new.
Universal has some hangups. Other theme parks outside Orlando area know how to embellish what we mockingly call "off the shelf" rides and make 'em fit both thematically and physically in very tight spaces. Their simplicity appeals to guests who don't appreciate being knocked about in a simulator.and they don't have a big imprint nor are difficult to remove if or when the land is needed. Not every guest is so scornful. There are some wacky SMALL off the shelf rides that are hilarious to ride. If two (three?)teenie kiddie rides in Dreamworks could make stroller people stay there longer, it would be awesome. I am not ashamed to say the Caro seuss el or whatever its name is more fun than Fallon. Then again, sitting on a bench across the street from it is also more fun.
I honestly don’t see the necessity to expand Diagon Alley other than maybe do a night bus ride. Which if that’s the case it’d be better to take down Fast and Furious since it already uses a Bus style ride system. As for Fear Factor Live and possibly even Men and Black I could see both of those areas and possibly some of the back area being used for another IP or land. I’m thinking they could either do a universal IP like Twister and build a land based on Wakita from the first film but have the ride and setting focus more on the recently successful sequel. Or they could have an expansion to Pokémon which will most likely take over the current area where the Simpsons are.
Hear me out what if they turned the San Francisco area into the wizarding New York and the ride could be centered around the wizarding government in America and you could also get stuff from the American wizarding world like an ilvermony robe and wand permit when picking out a new wand and maybe have some spells bleed out into the New York and London area idk I think it could be a cool idea I know not many care for the fantastic beast series but there is potential there to help build out the wizarding world
My dark ride idea: Arthur Weasley started a tour company for muggles to sight see the wizard world. He lets you borrow his blue car. MIB is too much of a classic! i'm alright with whatever universal does as long as they don't touch Toon lagoon, MIB or spiderman :)
I think they're perfectly happy with Studios. HHN let's them double dip for 3 months out of the year.
10:48 that’s a great idea
Fear Factor is a huge people eater for HHN, and they've had a lot of capacity problems with HHN in the most recent years because it's so popular, also it's usually during hurricane season so people's trips end up moving and overpopulating the park. I understand their hesitance to get rid of it 😂
I’m just curious what will happen to the hhn location if Harry Potter takes over f&f
Love the idea of going into fast and furious, the only issue is Hogwarts express is directly blocking it. If they wanted to go around they would have to go back behind gringots through the service road which would be interesting to say the least. Great idea! Just tough
A dark ride that takes you in the night bus through London then brings you into Sirius black’s childhood home
I love hp 4ever❤
Hottest of hot takes
Epic Universe doesn’t so near the numbers you tubers predict.
Supposedly the reason that the VR broomstick attraction was scrapped was because in the Harry Potter store in NYC they opened a VR attraction.
I like the dark ride idea but think something mixed with dark ride and Hagrids style would be fun. but I also feel if they did a water boat style there it would be better to bring a small version of jaws back instead
Great video. Hope they give your ride attraction ideas some consideration.
And they scaled them down considerably. Notice how many of their newest e Ticket attractions rides are roller coasters have coaster elements.
I would expect a water ride maybe? I would theme it to the second task from the goblet of fire
If Universal were to Remove F&F for the Harry Potter Expansion, they should make it into a Boat Ride! Universal needs a dark boat ride!
A boat dark ride is a great idea
Solid idea for an expansion.
I could see them using the same tech that's used for flight of passage in DW for a broom ride
A wicked land would make noise! Imagine a Defying Gravity rollercoaster and kid friendly ride!
What is it with resorts like Universal and Disney using screens on their rides? If I wanted to watch a screen, I could just stay in my hotel room, or just stay home.
I'd like to see a dark ride connected to Nocturn Alley.
Love this idea
Studios is so tiring making these awful recent decisions. I truly can’t wrap my mind around it. Villancon is so bad. Dreamworks very mediocre. It’s time to invest some $$$ into this park!
Anything with the Harry Potter franchise has to get Rowling's approval.
Or through Cedric's Hollow
Dark ride, SOLD!
Imo they will close Rip Ride Rocket first. They will build an intamin drift coaster just like the one in Hollywood in its place. It will be themed to fast and furious. Once its done, they will close the fast and furious ride and expand Diagon alley into that area.
They should replace the Rip Ride Rocket with a Fast & Furious Coaster, then close the existing Fast and Furious Ride with a Harry Potter Dark Ride.
But yeah no matter what it is rip ride rocket is most likely closing soon, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s closing sometime in December 2025 with them announcing closure in summer 2025 then with construction probably 1 year and half the new ride would be open sometime in 2027
Enjoyed the video.
In all honesty I kinda would have liked the Harry Potter broomstick ride I mean I’m a huge fan of VR so it would have been a win for me but that’s just my opinion
I think you’re taking some leaps of logic here. Diagon is fine as it is, there are bigger fish to fry at the Studios park.
Honestly, I'm kind of sick of the overabundance of Harry Potter. Not even Star wars or Lord of the rings get this much treatment
That would be sick to see something on this scale for lotr
nah
The only reason Star Wars isn't as abundant is because Disney doesn't know how to use it.
You could make the argument. It is the strongest IP on planet Earth. It doesn't matter how incompetent Disney is with it@@junglehero1274
Boat ride to castle across the lake, ford anglia ride, knight bus ride, thestral ride, hippogriff ride,
Dude. We literally had the same idea - incl. using AI.
Yeah, mine is travelling to an European city, but still ... Wow!
After epic I want it to stop
Give that expansion plot at ministry of magic to what ever franchise is going next door
No. And that’s for the Great Hall. 😅
@ that I’m down for
I honestly don’t see the necessity to expand Diagon Alley other than maybe do a night bus ride.
Hear me out what if they turned the San Francisco area into the wizarding New York and the ride could be centered around the wizarding government in America and you could also get stuff from the American wizarding world like an ilvermony robe and wand permit when picking out a new wand and maybe have some spells bleed out into the New York and London area idk I think it could be a cool idea I know not many care for the fantastic beast series but there is potential there to help build out the wizarding world
Family's with kids can go chill in Didney world
There’s not really enough room in Diagon alley in my opinion, although they could expand it
Such a cool looking area even though Harry Potter doesn’t interest me at all
This man cooked 🍳
i miss the Jaws ride
