My Mum & Dad were the proud owners of a 1958 Hillman Minx 826 AAF, in black livery, during the mid sixties. I had the pleasure of its washing and polishing. It took us on many journeys, an admirable motor car.

Thanks for the viewing. I had one identical, and loved it! I fitted an Alpine floor change which was quite nice. I got caught speeding in Bulawayo Zimbabwe in 1973 in it. They said I was doing 75 mph, which when in court testified that the vehicle was not capable of that speed, especially in view of the fact that it had done 122,000 miles without an engine overhaul. Needless to say, I lost the case and lost my license for 6 months. Well done, the Minx!! Wish I still had it.

Lovely characterful car and top attitude by the owner. ‘ We are all but temporary custodians’, this one will be enjoyed by the owner for many years hopefully and then passed on for future generations to cherish and enjoy. 👍

Absolutely gorgeous car. Rootes Groups cars were so desirable and none more so than the Audax models. My favourite manufacturer of the 'Big Four' . . . what a tragedy this legendary company did not survive and prosper as it should have done.

Beautiful car. My father owned a 60s version when I was a child and it had a similar colour scheme from what I can remember. Great to see these still be well looked after 😊

What a beautiful car I’ve always loved these I remember my brother in law having an automatic one would you believe and it wouldn’t go up bird lip hill in Gloucester without a damn good run at it …good times and great cars 👍

A lovely looking car - good to see Rootes motors getting some love these days, I gather they were very highly regarded cars before the later Chrysler years……..

Nice cars, very familiar from my childhood. I always liked everyday saloons, like this. They always have a lot of character. I think you were working on Practical Classics in the 1980s. Name sounds familiar. Michael Bowler editor that time?
