Whatever is in your budget! Both bikes are great to start with. But if you're buying brand new from a dealership, the markups can be anywhere from $1,000 - $1,800 on top of the MSRP. I started with the Ninja 400 because it was most budget friendly to me at the time. Definitely go and try to sit on both bikes if possible. If we are talking about the Ninja 400 and 650, they are both upright sport bikes, but there is a 50lb+ weight difference between the two, which can make the 650s 20+ more HP seem like not too much of a difference in speed. The 650 definitely gets up and goes faster compared to the 400, though, (47lb-ft of torque at a lower 6,700 rpms compared to the ninja 400s 27lb-ft of torque at 8,000 rpms.) Whichever you go for enjoy the hell out of it! Can't go wrong with a good ole' Kawasaki make. Ride safe 👍
You should look into a Z400. Same engine as a Ninja 400, just tuned a little differently. Plus there’s no fairings to worry about if/when you drop it. It’s a standard riding position as well - which can help you better understand what you like about seating positions on motorcycles. Whatever you decide - hope you enjoy the ride!
I dont normally leave comments so this is weird...lol I think this realistic approach is better. Sometimes the smoothness doesn't do the videos justice and kinda dampers the videos. Of course it depends on the type of content but for ride alongs, definitely this approach.
Thanks for the feedback. I agree with you on that. When I combine 60fps with motion smoothing it looks almost too smooth. 30fps with motion smoothing looks just right. I'll test it again in the daylight today or tomorrow.
So I plan to get a bike next summer debating on 400 or 650 for my first bike what would you recommend? I plan to keep it for awhile
