The only gripe I have about the GREAT review is the point about the "wobbling" cable. How is that any different from the cluster of DTAP cables, HDMI and Audio cables?? What good is a $700 card if you lose power from the DTAP coming undone? With any rig, properly securing your cables drastically reduces opportunity for failure. @@OlivierOzoux of course but its a reason the camera has the feature. 90 dollars for a T5 512gig external is more important to me. 180 for 128 gigs is almost pointless.
( 13:20 ) yes but, I wished you also had mentioned that the moment you try to make a basic exposure or white balance correction ( or applying any VFX ) the H26x footage falls apart. Great video! Question.....As you showed, the playback screen on the camera blacks out when recording at 120FPS at 4K. Would the external monitor also black out while recording at 120FPS 4K? If so, it would be a useless framerate for filming action or sports where you're moving the camera to capture the action.....unless you ust hoped for the best by pointing in the general direction of what you're trying to capture.

As for external recording issues - there are some USB clamps, similar to those for HDMI on sony alpha series All the issues are because of weak USB connector, a proper clamp should help a whole lot
Your statement about the Viltrox is wrong. There is no speedbooster made for the 4/3rds standard or lens protocols. The 4/3 system was a dslr system. Viltrox and all others are made for the m43 standard. The viltrox just isn't as good as the metabones, however it is much cheaper so there is that.
I hate to say this, but shouldn't you invest in multiple CFAST2 cards, at perhaps smaller size (128gb) in case your one CFAST2 card fails? $700.00 for one card seems a bit ridiculous in case it fails on set or on location, you would need at least 2 but more ideally 3-4 cards which is over $2000.00 in media. Just my thoughts. The camera looks awesome! Thanks for the tutorial.

As far as power, I already had a Dozen or so NP-F batteries (700/900 series) but they're super cheap on Amazon. Happy hunting!
Very details on the essential functions on this cam. Thanks so much! But I do have few questions. Can it use Atomos Ninja V and put the ssd into ninja for recording instead of usb-c ssd? How is auto focus on metabone with EF lens? Is that fast enough to switch from close up to person? and is that accurate? How is auto focus on native olympus lens? is that accurate and fast? Thanks in advance!!!
sickhcivc so another commenter posted that this mode is actually different from WDR. Low noise mode is a more accurate readout of the sensor. This would give less noise, less artifacting, etc... this a cleaner image. However, since it is a slower and more accurate readout of the sensor, you will get mor rolling shutter or jello effect in video. The disadvantage would then be if you were doing gimbal work or panning the camera quickly through a scene, the shot would suffer. In that case you would best use the normal mode. If however the camera were locked off or camera motions were very slow AND you were shooting in an environment where you needed low noise, then the low noise mode would work well.
sickhcivc so WDR is essentially using two different exposures and combining them. The way it works appears to do with not only the dual native iso, but using shutter speed. The highlights in the image are captures using a faster shutter speed than the rest of the image and the two images are combined. This works fine for scenes like sunsets or where people are interacting with the highlights of the image. If however you are using WDR to film a person who is backlit or has something like a strong hair/rim light, anytime they move, a ghosted image may appear especially is they move fast or a large distance across the frame. The reason this is the case is because the persons backlight is captured at a really fast shutter, meaning not much motion blur. The rest of the image is recorded at your regular shutter speed, which typically has motion blur. In an individual image, it may appear the subject is blurry from motion, but the hair or backlit portion is very sharp and clean from the fast shutter. This is the ghosting effect. To mitigate it, you would set your normal shutter speed to a really high shutter like 1/200. TL;DR - If you have subject that moves quickly through the frame AND that subject is also hit with the top end of your highlights, maybe even clipping, don’t use WDR. Instead, re-expose your image so it is pleasing. If however, your subject is not lit with clipped highlights OR your subject moves very slowly through the frame, then use WDR. Think locked off shot, person staring at sunset, camera facing into sun. I would almost never use WDR for gimbal work.

That's correct. 4K/120fps really pushes the hardware to its very limits, so steps have been taken to minimize the strain. at that speed you only have 1/120th of a second ( 8.3ms ) to do everything. so not refreshing the tiny screen shaves some important milliseconds. same thing with ProRes encoding, which is only supported to 60fps, right now.

@@FlannelNinjaTech No problem. Thanks for all of your GH5S/BMP4K/Z CAM E2 comparison videos!
You identified the screen going blank when recording at 120FPS. Does an external monitor yield the same result? I'm assuming not, otherwise how would you record content? I've just never seen such. By the way, this is an excellent review, probably the most comprehensive I've seen, very informative.
@@FlannelNinjaTech Absolutely love that mode!
Why do you need to format those cards
how do you format it on a pc?
hmmm why the colors are so washed out?
So, where do you get a wi-fi antenna?!?
It comes with the camera
Why wouldn’t they include CDNG as an option?
Flannel Ninja CDNG is open source. That’s such bullshit.
Nikon needs to get in the game and create cinemaNEF! That would be amazing!
really dumb question. how do you delete a clip?
Great Video!
Is the Atomos Ninja V fully supported by the E2?
-Trigger from the Camera
-4K 60
-Seperate Files recording to the Ninja SSD?
I love the opportunity to have Backup Footage on my XT-3 when combining it with the Ninja V.
Спасибо за обзор! Это очень интересная камера! Мне нравится больше чем BPCC4K! НО...в России это дороже!
HLG is the best picture profile.
The Angelbird is a much better solution at half the price for media storage.
Can anybody explain me why does this camera is so overpriced in Europe? Why can we find the Z Cam E2 for 799 on B&H and the same camera body for 2500 Euros in France?
