Not only is the artwork itself beautiful, but his process is incredible. He uses zero reference, doesn't sketch anything out, is able to keep perspective while still keeping in mind the composition, all while keep a storyline and overall theme, switch between mechanical and organic shapes, simultaneously use line work while still having shadows, conveys movement, uses negative space, understands 3D environemnts, the list goes on..... The amount of envy I'm feeling is unparalleled.
This is incredible. Every line is perfectly placed with zero errors in composition, proportion, anatomy and foreshortening. If you have any knowledge of drawing at all you will quickly realise that this kind of talent is extremely rare and extremely exceptional.
no initial sketch no perspective guidelines no compozitional planning no reference no erasing I feel like that cop from Matrix, watching a spectacle of super human ability: "This... is impossible!..."
Maybe you should write a more detailed critique to explain why you would consider the result "crap". I am really impressed by this piece of art, but maybe I just fail to see the lack of quality that seems to be so obvious to you... and why are you always putting up artists against each other? Why should I check out Cam Kennedy INSTEAD - why not check him out AS WELL? Also: I recommend Sam Kieth and Simon Bisley! :)
Constantly-Confused Troll alert. I can only cite that old saying "don't argue with idiots, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Don't fall for their "argument".
If you insist, you can check my stuff on deviantart: constantly-confused.deviantart.com I'm not working on a professional level, but then again: you do not have to be a professional musician to enjoy a violin concert. :)
You want to be as good as this chap? You draw and practice non stop. You study and learn and you improve over time. Doesn't happen overnight. Need to put some heart into it.
Absolutely fantastic! The amount of practice that he has had must be beyond enormous! Only constant drawing for many, many years allows for this sort of skill. That constant effort is as impressive as the drawing he does in this clip.
So amny of his drawings have the kind of angles you get with a typical 35 mm camera. It's like he's memorized those compositions and then adapted them (brilliantly) for his own needs. It may well be that he has a visual "photographic" memory (literally). Very, very impressive.
Many 3D artists reconstructed few of his drawing to study how accurate is his oblique perspective and sense of scorso. This man has A COMPUTER VISION for eyes and parallel CPU inside his head. It's absurd how accurate this man is with the sense of scale and proportion.
The impression I got from this guy is that he has an incredible visual memory, a library of images stored in his brain. It is obvious that he observes everything around him, the most mundane of objects to animals, people, clothing, machines. He observes everything when he goes out in the world, an open mind of sorts, ready to absorb what he sees. That's my impression of him.
I like his panoramic style. Good god, I could see myself drawing like one of those images and I'll be all proud of myself, this guy just says the hell with it, crams it all together with so much going on, theres so much life!
He has created a lot of masterpieces on white canvases showcasing his extraordinary talent in drawing manually and that's what never ceases to amaze me. 👍 Truly a gifted man, thanks for sharing.
This is both awe-inspiring and insane... there's no structural linework, no base sketch, no establishing perspective lines, just freehanded ink lines.... wow.... !!
First off, it doesn't seem he's looking at a reference, the characters are all different, the perspective is curved, drawing people on bikes is hard, the depth makes everything looked planned but it isn't, there is a lot of detail and doesn't look sketchy, the composition is interesting, all the characters interact, there is a sense of movement, he draws characters of all ages, he draws animals, it's all done quickly and effortlessly, it is just incredible to behold. Inspired.
all you people be depressed over seeing him drawing and thinking you'd never be good, boiz and gurlz no, you can, if you give up, that means less competition in the art era we are in, we need to make our era the best of art, the best in the creative field. better than the impressionists and better than the god damn poxy renaissance and the best era to have ever come out of the ground!!!
I've just learned the death of KJG. what a tremendous loss. The mistery of his mental process when drawing is as much fascinating as his works themselves. Watching him at work just give me the feeling he's a in a state of superconsciouness or something like that. Like he would visualize his creations in 3D, turn around them, and ink the preparatory sketch invisible to us but not to him. R.I.P magician.
The man is an artistic savant! One can study and practice art for a lifetime and still not become this good. In essence, one can only be gifted these talents at birth to reach such a level.
Shit like this blows. my. mind. I was an avid drawer back in the day but gave it up and became a productive part of society sporting the classic 8-5 career now. Looking at this video makes me reflect on my artistic days when I could do SOME of this but not to this level. My issue back then was I operated on a perfectionist level when it cam eto drawing. i would hit parts in my art where I didn't want to continue drawing it because it looked perfect - even if unfinished). Funny, but looking at this video I mentally took note a multiple times when I would have said... meh, that looks good - next. To see someone carry on and quickly draw out details that my brain would take minutes to even think of is incredible. Wish I could do this. This guy is amazing!
I was really surprised to see that this artist draws a bit like me. Ever since I was little I have just drawn from my mind, not using guidelines for anything. Growing up people always told me everywhere to start using guidelines or I will never improve but I hated being constrained to a guide so I stopped drawing. Thank you Kim Jung Gi for showing me that you don't have to use guides to draw well. I'll pick up drawing again and if someone tells me to use guides I'll just point them to you :)
Don't get alarmed guys. This is not as difficult as it looks. One thing he had memorized it by repeatedly doing it. Second thing he is using an amazing and a magic tool called Pentel Pocket Brush Pen for Calligraphy. This tool is amazing, those who have tried it know about the magic it can do. It does from refined line to a thick line at the same time, meaning drawing and shading is done at the same time. This tool motivates you to draw and it draws from your subconscious mind. He can't do what he did with a regular pencil or ballpoint pen with the same ease and manner. The video is speeded up. Drawings can get memorized.
He drew probably 10000 of bikes and cars. I thought he was a genius, yeah maybe he is. Maybe not. But one thing I know is that what he can do now is not because of his talent. He draws a LOT and he does it happily. That's what he said. Some people may be able to draw as many as he drew. But happily always? I don't know how many people are out there who can do both, a lot and happily. In this aspect, yeah he is a real genius. I think I can finally understand why there are geniuses exist.
neo barroco en un universo muy particular altamente influenciado por su cultura! Es realmente impresionante su capacidad para componer en un papel tan grande con dibujos tan bien proporcionados y excelentemente detallados!
In his youth he'd practice those techniques on how to draw, that hobbies turn into a great skills, such great memory and detailed drawing. Maybe in his mind and heart this thing called love of his work is what he wanted to express others.
nah no pros though. Agree with uuD youtube comments are SO dumb. My dog knows more about art....kinda obvious they're desperate even buying views now. 1,221,570 views yet only 684 comments and virtually zero sketchbook sales on amazon..says it all folks. Now I must go and look at artists with real talent...ho hum
I mean, he's not the best artist in the world but he's definitely got talent, view botting or not this is still pretty amazing. If you were being sarcastic then it wasn't very apparent.
Amazing skills and style. It reminds me a lot of Katsuya Terada. Kim Jung Gi's artbooks are out of this world. Sure they come pretty expensive for us foreigners, but they are worth every cent I spent on them!!
I wonder, is he just one of those people that were born with raw talent, in essence a prodigy? Or did he just work very hard and dedicate his life to becoming a master?
tucnasam Yeah, I heard that a lot coming from lazy people as well. A desire to be great in something is notghing but a desire until you simply do stuff to become as great as you wanted to be or even better. Artist here is confident in his skills in himself in his eyes that have seen and memorized all he drew, most of all he simply loves it.
Leave everything. I agree it may come by experience or practice. But one thing I can't understand is he starts drawing new character in a distance either by starting it from hand or face but at the end it perfectly matches the composition.how it is possible? Kim Jung gi" god of art". You should not die. Killer of every artists ego.
THis guy definitely has a brain type that assists him in this, like high memory retention and a photographic memory. dont give me your bullshit attitude of "nothing but hard work, a lazy excuse wha wha wah" . Plenty of artists work REALLY hard too, but cant do this stream of thought drawing like this
Photographic memory can be taught. If you dedicate a great ammount of time on it. Try some simple excercises like looking at a photo for 10 seconds. Then take it away and try to redraw that image. Stay at it for some years and you will deffinitely start developing photographic memory with great detail.
I see no pre compositional sketch, I see no looking towards any reference images, all I see is raw talent coming straight from the mind to the paper without ANY pre planning. That's amazing alone. Your use of line, shape and negative space is amazing, and the fact you can get such detail out of drawing vehicles without any indication of looking at a reference image is making me jealous :P
Beanie Draws This isn't raw talent - it's years of practicing with guidelines and references and realising that you've practiced enough to be able to draw without them. He definitely used a lot of reference images when he was younger, this isn't just from out of nowhere
He is not drawing, he is rendering...
Awesome.
No sketches, no erasing. So much detail straight from the mind.
No words can describe the awesomeness ...
yu just did lol
Not only is the artwork itself beautiful, but his process is incredible. He uses zero reference, doesn't sketch anything out, is able to keep perspective while still keeping in mind the composition, all while keep a storyline and overall theme, switch between mechanical and organic shapes, simultaneously use line work while still having shadows, conveys movement, uses negative space, understands 3D environemnts, the list goes on.....
The amount of envy I'm feeling is unparalleled.
100 portraits
100 perspective exercises
100 anatomy drawings
and run 10km every day
After 3 years he went bald and now he is KIM JUNG GI!
chuck farley one pen man
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
hahahahahhahahah one pen man!!!
and use 10 kilos of paper every day *
Best comment ever
太強了!每個人物角色物品都如此生動!筆觸更是行雲流水,最難的是構圖,利用多點透視人物物品多也沒有失去畫面秩序,真強!神人!
This is incredible. Every line is perfectly placed with zero errors in composition, proportion, anatomy and foreshortening. If you have any knowledge of drawing at all you will quickly realise that this kind of talent is extremely rare and extremely exceptional.
It's extremely impossible.. I'm a concept artist with more than 20 years of experience.. what this guy was doing is impossible.
Simply. The world's best illustrator. Thank you, Kim Jung Gi.
no initial sketch
no perspective guidelines
no compozitional planning
no reference
no erasing
I feel like that cop from Matrix, watching a spectacle of super human ability: "This... is impossible!..."
+Ciprian Hanga Yeah.... I'm sitting here with my mind blown....

hmm... good observation.
He has most likely studied and drawn each subject at least once before but his ability to recall them and play with new angles is amazing.
I'm pretty sure he has blender installed in his head
He draws so much detail, but it's amazing how much more detail is created by the negative space he leaves in his artwork!
This hurts so much... Rest in peace, master!
He's the kind of artist that could draw leave a drawing on a napkin for a waiter instead of a tip, and it would be just fine.
the restaurant has to pay him instead if that happens
Don't think any one will touch Thier food. Just watch him draw
anthemloo:-):-):-):-)pP
That's too much tip though. They won't have any penny to pay back for the over-paid tip.
Except if you’re broke and you need money
He just imagines anything he wants to draw, and he does. And it looks perfect.
You want to be as good as this chap? You draw and practice non stop. You study and learn and you improve over time. Doesn't happen overnight. Need to put some heart into it.
I love how both modern and old school his art style looks.
He use "Pentel brush pen".
Thank you
Thank you
Thanks alot
And a genius mindset
i love you art kung jun gi
RIP Kim Jung Gi... You will be missed.
Absolutely fantastic! The amount of practice that he has had must be beyond enormous! Only constant drawing for many, many years allows for this sort of skill. That constant effort is as impressive as the drawing he does in this clip.
Most talented artist on the face of this planet...No doubt about that.

Inside all this virtues of art... His sense of humor. Capts a second of a moment full of people and animals.... Great. RIP.
Mixed feelings: I should (a) practise a lot more or (b) just quit drawing.
MaghoxFr A!!!!
HalleluYah HalleluYah
LOL deffinitely, thanks!
+MaghoxFr PRACTICE!! you won't regret it!
+MaghoxFr C) get hit by a baseball when you were young.
(that's what happened to him.)
Ethan Walker didn't know that!
I've seen most of his drawing videos several times! It makes me feel so good!
Thankful & glad to watch him drawing...
He has created a lot of masterpieces on white canvases showcasing his extraordinary talent in drawing manually and that's what never ceases to amaze me. 👍 Truly a gifted man, thanks for sharing.

This guy is my absolute hero - what a force of nature he is

Yoji Shinkawa is a great artist. This guy is something else entirely; a storyteller. He brings life to all the characters.
On another level. Perspective, foreshortening, any angle - no problem, humans, animals, very detailed vehicles.
he's like a fucking printer!
No reference, no pre-color sketching, no stress lol.....Just puré genius. He so good he kinda makes wanna quit but also makes me want to draw more
all you people be depressed over seeing him drawing and thinking you'd never be good, boiz and gurlz no, you can, if you give up, that means less competition in the art era we are in, we need to make our era the best of art, the best in the creative field. better than the impressionists and better than the god damn poxy renaissance and the best era to have ever come out of the ground!!!
Amen to that! 👏
Try watching this at its normal speed, maybe you'll really understand how complex his art is. Such a great artist.
* Snaps pencil in half and cries in a corner
Very like free climbing, confidence, no errors, just like a printing machine, incredible
he can draw literally ANYTHING!!!
I wondered y there is lot of videos on this man. Then one day happened to watch this. Kudoosh..... nw i gt it. He is one legend

I think there are very few people in the world who can do what this man is doing to this level,..irrespective of where they come from..
he inspires and crushes me
deep respects to the man, I'll practice alot
The man is an artistic savant! One can study and practice art for a lifetime and still not become this good. In essence, one can only be gifted these talents at birth to reach such a level.

I HAVE NOW FOUND MY MASTER!
160 thousand subscribers... should have 160million this is some serious skills you have my friend... what an eye you have for detail 👌
Master of All!
Respects!
This guy is absolutely phenomenal.......a modern day renaissance master
Subject: Thief and cop
Level: Magic and sorcery.
Artistic talent and a lot of practice doesn't produce that. Most people can't draw a simple shape without an eraser...
Call the Mythbusters, please. This guy is THE BEST.
so amazing creative memory, perfect drawing without references and rough outline
Kim Jung is no joke.
Shit like this blows. my. mind. I was an avid drawer back in the day but gave it up and became a productive part of society sporting the classic 8-5 career now. I love drawing! But when I watched this I was like "FML"
36 is pretty young for this level of drawing... He practices 10 hours EVERYDAY!
@@SonovaZebra I thought i was dedicated. I spend around 7 hours on average. That is with procrastinations lol

sometime he even touch things so he can remember it MORE accurate !
i dont think i`ve seen bigger talent in my live... amazing
demasiada envidia.
This guy is my absolute hero...is an alien jajajaja, and every line is perfectly placed with zero errors....
Kim Jung Gi is the definition of :”There will also be an asian better than you”

He's a funckin human printer for God sake!
sir ... you are inspiration for the whole generation
is it me or could these videos use some music, they're mesmerizing on their own but still
와 그냥 대박이네요 작가님bbbbbbbbbbbbb그냥 천재아니세요?
Photographic memory
good preparation, don't be so naive
In his youth he'd practice those techniques on how to draw, that hobbies turn into a great skills, such great memory and detailed drawing. Maybe in his mind and heart this thing called love of his work is what he wanted to express others.
in his brain already has a perspective visual, so when he draw , he already know next two or three object that he will draw after
Wow 진짜 멋지다 어떻게 저렇게 그리지 대박 Korean artist!
i lost alot of my brain cells when reading some of the youtube comments, god damn
That's odd, I only saw comments complementing him.
nah no pros though. Agree with uuD youtube comments are SO dumb. My dog knows more about art....kinda obvious they're desperate even buying views now.

jealousy is such an ugly thing.
What this man does can be summed up in one single word: MAGIC
Human printer eh... How much does these cyborgs cost...hahah just kidding good job man
어떻게 러프스케치도 없이 그릴까요 너무 신기합니다. 김정기님 멋져요 !!!!
human or printer ?
Printers usually need a picture to print something out, do you see this guy using any reference?
No contruction/reference lines
No rough sketches
My god this mindblowing mastery
뇌에 있는 이미지를 손으로 출력하네 ㄷㄷ
Amazing skills and style. It reminds me a lot of Katsuya Terada. Kim Jung Gi's artbooks are out of this world. Sure they come pretty expensive for us foreigners, but they are worth every cent I spent on them!!
I wonder, is he just one of those people that were born with raw talent, in essence a prodigy? Or did he just work very hard and dedicate his life to becoming a master?
How about both?
Talent is nothing without hard work.
LyphejaN7 I hear this often. It's a lazy persons excuse to not work hard. (FYI Preston, I do not think your comment is lazy)
tucnasam Yeah, I heard that a lot coming from lazy people as well. A desire to be great in something is notghing but a desire until you simply do stuff to become as great as you wanted to be or even better.
Artist here is confident in his skills in himself in his eyes that have seen and memorized all he drew, most of all he simply loves it.
Sung Cho he has no more ass.
He worked hard for 30 years straight to get at that level.
Simply amazing!
he sold his soul to the devil for this, i know for sure
if i can buy that talent i will give a blow job to devil
selling soul to someone requires being his hoe
Leave everything. I agree it may come by experience or practice. But one thing I can't understand is he starts drawing new character in a distance either by starting it from hand or face but at the end it perfectly matches the composition.how it is possible? this guy will make you quit drawing literally
That's amazing. I just started drawling with my brush pen and this has really inspired me!
The guy is not from this earth
he just died, sad. RIP
Para mi es el mejor Pintor del Mundo, lejos....
THis guy definitely has a brain type that assists him in this, like high memory retention and a photographic memory. dont give me your bullshit attitude of "nothing but hard work, a lazy excuse wha wha wah" . M Jans its a photographic memory which comes from obsession :) obesession cant be taught .

No such thing as a photographic memory.

Я думаю, это самый крутой художник современности. Уровень "Бог".
Absolutely stunning !
I see no pre compositional sketch, I see no looking towards any reference images, all I see is raw talent coming straight from the mind to the paper without ANY pre planning. That's amazing alone.
