i have a question - how do the blind read sceen readers with PDF docs? do they use nvda + acrobat or nvda/jaws with the web browser for PDFSr? because i'm getting horrendous results if i try to use a screen reader with the web browser with PDF docs; form fields are not recognized. However if i use acrobat then i get a much better experience.
ok if i use the default pdf in the browser the experience is complete trash but if i install acrobat plugin for the browser, it seems to recognize my form fields.
It all depends on the specific user but 9 out of 10 times. It's going to be better to open the file in a native accessible format like Adobe Acrobat Pro and whatever screen reader choice they have. Whenever you open a file inside of a web browser, it's kind of like going window shopping at a store... You can see the things inside but you can't really get in and try them on
