K1300S with more torque and the longer wheelbase will make it a faster everyday streetbike. On the very top end though, the higher rev limit and gearing on the s1000RR makes it faster. For anything other than the track…..give me a GT bike like the K1300S every day.

I prefer larger capacity and lower reving as they tend to last a lot longer. K1300 is a very stable bike and great on long distances.

I just wish the K1300S had cruise control. I know you can get those throttle lock cruise control kits... - They're better than nothing, but actual cruise control is much better.

k1300s 140Nm 254kg | S1000rr 113Nm 204 kg ready 2 go. this its important when u speed up! HP its 4 max speed. driver k1300s was slowdown at corner. still both bike r awesome.

Interesting fact on k1300s, it's produce same amount of torque at 4k rpm as pre 2019 s1000rr does at 11k rpm. Explains it early lead.

I've owned a K1300S for almost 10 years and I can say it is the best overall bike I've ever owned. 115K miles and many long 2-up trips with the wife with the bags on , as well as great speed and stability for the street, with the bags off. Yes there are faster and better handling sportbikes, but they don't have the comfort of the GT Bikes even for short trips. Rather own a K1300S, ZX-14, or Haya (even though it is ugly) than a S1000RR. BMW bikes absolutely rock!!!!

I always see those bikes lumped together. When I bought my K1200R, it was 3rd fastest in 1/4mi behind Z14 and Hayabusa. I still have it, but it's fallen to the 25th position.

ABS specialists can rebuild better than new for about $200 (part only). Did the labor myself, not bad if you’re mechanical and have a GS-911 so you can bleed the ABS system. Pretty solid machines otherwise. Maintenance cost isn’t bad if you’re doing the labor yourself.

The s1000rr has a higher top speed which is over 300kmh. The k1300s will max out and bounce off the revs at around 286kmh due to gearing. You can't change the final drive as its shaft drive as easily as you can on the s1000rr. From 0-100kms the k1300s is consistantly better because it has more torque low down and it has a longer wheel-base so you won't have to back off the throttle if you lean forward, where as on the s1000rr you'll be doing a high angle wheelie and may have to touch the rear brake, or back off the throttle so you don't get thrown off. 1st Gear on the k1300 will max out just past 120kmh whereas 1st gear on the s1000rr will max out just below 160kmh.
The k1300 has more hp than the k1600!

He used 2nd gear with the revs at 4000rpm, should have been in first with the revs higher so closer to where it makes peak torque.. on most 4 cylinder sports bikes you want to be hovering at where peak torque h]is for the roll, which is generally at 8-9000rpm on most litre sports bikes, and a tad higher for 600cc.
