@1:07:00 The building was not brick, it was a wooden hut. The normal concrete bunker used for staff meetings was skipped on this day as it was very hot, and the wooden hut was used because it had many widows that could be opened and thus also contributed to the dispersion of the bomb blast effect. Otherwise, a very good movie in authenticity.
Happened across this vintage movie, later on and see after reading, name is "THE DESERT FOX ~ the story of Rommel" an original title, video title.. Thank you for uploading this version! ~ small town AK-USA 🇺🇸❄🐟🐻💮🌿🌤☃
On Rommler's inspection tour of the French coast fortifications he was accompanied by German-speaking Japanese ambassador, Gen Oshima, who promptly communicated to Japan using the cracked Enigma code, the entire lay-out.
The Desert Fox would have been more about his operations in Afrika. This is about his status and relationship to Hitler and perception of a being a Soldier.
I have to agree with the previous poster.....that Eternal Picture Show needs to get boycotted somehow for deliberately misnaming a movie. This movie is "The Desert Fox".
So they don’t get blocked by corporations who own the rights to rebroadcast. So that you and I and anyone with the internet can see classic movies, classic art without having to pay some “investor”.
@@Bruce-1956 I knew that...I'm just being sarcastic with these groups up loading films and chopping them and inverting them, and screwing them up so as to avoid copyright laws.
call this movie "Rommel Other movies bare the same title The Tactician, example A Cody Webb Story. You ruined the ending with ads for other videos supper-imposed over Rommel's picture!!!
Despite James Mason, any show that starts with 20 minutes of gun battles is obviously badly directed. I have no idea if the real story will ever start! 1 minute of dialogue every five minutes, while all else is blasting guns, does not make a story line! I can't watch this!
If I'm not mistaken, this movie's title is "The Desert Fox: The Story of Rommel".
true

The false title is to confuse TH-cam s copyright checker so it doesn't get taken down as quickly

This is the movie "The Desert Fox". Shhhhh, don't tell anybody.
Yes. I recognize it. At least so far.
The title is pure deception - just screw more views from a great movie the “Desert Fox”. Shame on this TH-camr.
Why not? People need to know of this deception.
@@gordonhardwick5151 I'm guessing he's trying to fool You Tube.

Great movie... a little biased... but very accurate
Very good movie. I've not seen it in a long time. Thanks for sharing.
A great soldier, a very good movie.
Mason's protrail of Rommel was uncanny.
On Rommler's inspection tour of the French coast fortifications he was accompanied by German-speaking Japanese ambassador, Gen Oshima, who promptly communicated to Japan using the cracked Enigma code, the entire lay-out.
Michael Rennie's voice but where's his face? I know, he's making "The Day the Earth Stood Still" so he had to "phone it in."
Germany's Robert E. Lee. Thank you EPS.
Well, i thought I'd found an unknown second, "Mason plays a Nazi" film, but that isnt the case.
I've seen "Desert Fox" so hasta proxima...
The Desert Fox would have been more about his operations in Afrika. This is about his status and relationship to Hitler and perception of a being a Soldier.
That was The Desert Rats. The Desert Fox was about Rommel.
disgraceful, how this man was treated ,,,,,by an INSANE BARBARIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How far in did this film start?
Long enough past the opening credits.
Wrong title - why?
I don't know why folks upload movies and don't even know the correct name... the desert fox would be correct

It's a copyright issue; if found TH-cam won't publish the film.
GOSH I DIDN'T KNOW THIS:
I PROMISE NOT TO COMPLAIN AGAIN:
And you CANNOT find many of these films or old tv series ANYWHERE else.
Very true
Ok, but why the deceptive title.
Are you sure light carries that far? What?
37:24 The obvious fake window at the back with a man standing impossibly still.
Michael Rennie narrating as Desmond Young.
Sounds like our using Enigma as used so irresopnodingly by the Italians in North Afica
Why don't you call it "The Desert Fox" the real name of the movie.
See a previous comment. It's a copyright issue.

I had the same issue with Saving Private Ryan. Introduce some characters so the action is emotionally real.
It was a great opening
