At 14:10 , if I remember correctly, named/important NPCs like Vulpes are able to see through faction armor disguises. So that adds another layer to the "Should Be Hostile/Should Not Be Hostile" flustercluck.
He's not supposed to be hostile in nipton. This encounters extremely well thought out and planned he has dialogue for every reputation with the legion on every tier Even hated he just says to tell the NCR about what happened and walk away although I don't know what happens if you kill Caesar and then talk to him.
This is a glitch caused by scripting in the Booted quest. Nothing to do with faction reputation or armor. The death of the captives in this manner breaks the NPCs of Nipton. Something about layover scripts from development, when the quest would have looked different than the released version.

Cuz as stated in game the courier even when admired isn't part of the NCR Also I am not able to find any videos showing his reaction with positive rep with NCR.
Here's a challenge suggestion: "Can you beat Fallout 3 as Thor", this challenge limits you to using the cut Robo-Thor Power Armor along the cut Discharge Super Sledge, SPECIAL stats can be anything as long as Strength is a 10 and the game must be beaten with Good Karma
I was gonna say he should do it in TTW but i realize that it would be impossible cause the Robo-Thor power armor only spawn after the Enclave arrives and Discharge Hammer only appear in Broken Steel
That is a good point; the throwing spears (and other throwing melee items) should be craftable in order to justify their long-term use. You can see the spear itself is just sharpened scrap metal tied to a stick, so make them using a campfire/workbench with scrap metal!
With the DLC Dead Money you can craft a variant, Throwing Knife Spears. They have slightly less damage and slightly higher weight, but they have a x2 limb damage modifier.
I did a run that heavily used Throwing Spears. I used a mod that made it so that when you hit someone with throwing spears, they would automatically have throwing spears on their corpse, to simulate just pulling the same spear out of their body and reusing it. Worked like a charm, I never found myself wanting for more.
I remember one of the earliest skyrim memories involved realizing that you get about 40% of the arrows you thudded into an enemy when you go to loot their corpse. definitely realistic and help with low ammo

If you want to make the encounter with Benny easier by talking to Swank, at the Goodsprings cemetery, you can grab distinctive cigarette butts near your grave. I'm pretty sure that can bypass the speech skill
With the power of alchemy and enchantments should be doable depending on difficulty. TLDR for anyone not wanting to read. Very possible to do with the powers of alchemy. No resting means no leveling up so definitely would want to take endurance as one of his favored attributes, take the Lady as his sign, and either redguard, Orc, or Nord as his race to maximize his health. As that will be all the health he will ever have without fortifying it for the rest of the game. Endurance effects starting health so if he did all that his max health will be 72 for the rest of the game. Other attributes can be boosted as needed using alchemy and enchantments for the rest of the game. Skills can be leveled without resting so should be good on that. Recommend getting gear enchanted to get 100 sanctuary on his character ASAP as that will help make up for not having a whole lot of health when facing tougher enemies. Sanctuary can be subbed for chameleon 100 when trying to be stealthy as needed. Rest of the game just depends on how much he wants to abuse the alchemy system using the fortify intelligence system. Could make potions lasting in game months if he wanted to. Recommend making some that fortify that strength and agility ASAP.

Can you beat Fallout: New Vegas with only Pulse weapons? Expensive, great damage vs. robots and power armour, plink damage vs. everything else. Anything with these properties counts as a usable weapon. Bulk energy cells are a shout, and going to Old World Blues offers some upgrades, like the sonic emitter for instance.

I never really used the spears myself (I too have trouble aiming those things), but pleasantly surprised to see the damage output. Congrats on the successful run!
They're a must have for melee builds, too many unreachable enemies otherwise. It's the most damaging weapon you have until you get melee to 75 and get Knock-Knock.
I usually use tomahawks, much easier to get in larger numbers. White legs carry them in spades with no negative rep with the legion, plus Joshua Graham sells them before the dlc ends and the gun runners sell them afterwards
I definitely think you should've used the throwing spears over the throwing spears to deal with vulpis, there's something about the throwing spears that just aren't as good as the throwing spears

The railway rifle did the same thing in fallout 3 2 years before, the crossbow in HL2 did the same thing 6 years before, and the harpoon gun in AVP did the same thing in 1999. It's definitely nothing ahead of its time.

Another great run, my dear Nerbit. I find your chase runs to be very entertaining, that is why I suggest another one: "Can you beat Fallout New Vegas while being chased by Maud's Muggers". Maud's Muggers are a gang of grannies you can encounter after exiting the Cerulean Robotics building if you have a Wild Wasteland trait. They initiate a dialogue with you and then become hostile, they're not hostile at first. They're a bit different from other chase challenges since there is 3 of them. The rules are basically the same as any other chase challenge other than you have to fast travel to a specific location (more likely Goodsprings, Strip north gate or any of the Freeside's gates) to make it possible.
awesome run!! i’m unsure if anyone else has brought this one up, but it seems emily ortal from the followers of the apocalypse will follow you if you leave the lucky 38 and try to avoid her. this happened in one of my games bc i fast traveled to nellis air force, so possibly not usable for a run, but the wiki says she will follow you and it takes up to 10 hours 🤔
Nerbit, there is another source of spears in the game: Dead Money. Every spear throwing enemy in the dlc drops five spears. And they do double limb damage.
@@deansullivan4179 there are a bunch of traps in dead money. During most my runs, I even use these purposely to save what limited ammo you get in the DLC because they are all either explosive, or bear traps which takes out limbs, killing them.
@@Xahnel companions arent spears though so unless you pickpocket one from a ghost (which is near impossible) the challenge would fail right away as you cant bring spears with you into the sierra madre
@@Jhu_-cz4nj companions might not be spears, but you aren't doing the damage, either. NPC on NPC violence is out of your hands. Further, you're literally forced to take the companions through the DLC anyways to their spots. That's unavoidable, and as we all know, if the game forces it, it doesn't count. And as the other guy said, there are plenty traps you can run a ghost in to.
Here's a challenge idea: "Can You Beat Fallout New Vegas as Pure Evil?" You have to beat the game with very evil karma, and be vilified by every faction.

Seeing you carry Benny down the hall gave the worst/best idea! In Fallout 4, I bet Shaun would be sad that his mom/dad died! You should “weekend at Bernie’s” the corpse all the way through the game with you until you see Shaun! Let the poor kid say goodbye properly by dragging the corpse of his dead parent across the wasteland! Honestly I don’t even know if it’s possible, it might not work through a loading zone, but I think the idea of someone carrying a body that hovering and bobbing through the wasteland while trying to drop the body to engage in combat and then pick them up and keep going is just hilarious! I’d pay to see someone try that!
Okay I'm recommending this build again Can you beat New Vegas as Raiden Or Can you beat New Vegas as Jetstream Sam For Raiden: must have every cybernetic enhancement (including world blues) can only use the katana or bare fists (STANDING HERE) only outfit I see that fits Raiden is any suit (if you find something that looks like his suit use it) you can get Rex (blade wolf) and you can either join yesman or NCR For Jetstream Sam, any outfit that looks like sam's exoskeleton, only katana, just the agility upgrade (exoskeleton and double jump) but absolutely no other enhancements, start independent but join legion. I love this idea so it would mean everything if you chose one of these!

Here is an idea for a challenge: Can you beat fallout New Vegas as DR MOBIUS! Ok so basically in order to do it you would need a scientist glove and scrubs(then mobius's after getting through old world blues) as well as his unique eyeglasses behind a average locked door in the think tank.
I'm saying it's a downside for a Throwing Spears Only run because Ghost People are kind of a pain especially because you'd lose your stockpile of throwing spears by entering the DLC
Hey Nerbit, I love your challenge videos. Listening to you talk about your planning is really good background noise for whenever I'm animating. I had one idea for a challenge in any of the Fallout Games. Can you Slaughter Everyone in a Fallout Game using a unique method? Basically, everyone who dies needs a unique death. If you use the Throwing Spear to Headshot an enemy, you can't kill another enemy with a Throwing Spear Headshot. You can still kill them with a Throwing Spear, but you'd either have to blow off a different limb or just hit them until they die. Or if you use a pistol whip to kill someone, you can't use that same method to kill another enemy. You ca still shoot them to death, get a crib on their head or other limbs, but once you're out of options, time to move on to another weapon.
I know you just did a Skyrim challenge but you should do a “can you beat Skyrim as the gourmet” run. The rules would Be you have to use the wieldable knife and fork you can get at high hrothgar or the honeyside home in righten and the ring of Namira to eat anyone you kill and also make 1 one of every meal you can craft/cook in Skyrim for one final ultimate feast. Also must wear chefs hat for ultimate funny’s
Can you beat fallout NV as teddy roosevelt? The weapons restrictions would be revolvers and hunting rifles, and you have to complete the honest hearts DLC because it's a national park and he created quite a few.
Challenge idea: "Can you beat Fallout 4 with only kamikaze?" For this challenge you can only use explosive weapons (e.g. granades, fat man) and you need to stand in the blast radius of the explosion.
Truly, Mr nerbit is an admirable athlete, not only did he overcome his lung problems and ran miles for (and from his enemies) his health but he manged to learn, train and preform well in other sports. I did this once, but with throwing weapons, so the knives, hatchets, and throwing axes from OWB were in the mix, too. Remarkably similar to a straight melee run, just with limited ammo. Piercing Strike is definitely a game-changer :)

I've had that slideshow glitch before, it was interesting, I ended up being able to move before it forced me to stay put, and I got to watch it at a weird angle
I have a suggestion. "How many people can be chasing me at once." The goal is to be followed by as many NPC's trying to talk to you as possible. Probably done in New Vegas since it seems to have the most pursuers. Don't necessarily need to beat the game, but the idea is that if you find someway to group all of them up (perhaps by waiting somewhere just outside their range) and triggering as many forced conversations in a row as possible.
Dude, "caveman need more spear" had me rollin waiting to clock-in to work. Love your videos man. The hardest challenge i can think of for nev vegas is to take no radiations/no rads man lol.

So I'm a world ranking axe thrower, after watching a bunch of your vids, I decided to do the Axe throwing only run of FONV. I had to console command and give myself like 500 over the course of the run, and it was a blast. One thing about thrown weapons in NV is that they do not track when targets move laterally. Gotta have them coming right for you. It was a fun run, though I don't know if you could do it legit for the lack of ammo. I was murdering everyone.
After getting NV to finally actually run well, and doing a Legion play through for the first time ever, I was gonna suggest this challenge to you. But here you are, having already done it. I can’t say “great minds think alike” because I myself am an Int:3 at most.
Heres a fun challenge idea Can you beat fallout new vegas as a ghoul What does this mean? 1: you must be at the highest level of radiation poisoning at all times 2:you must do all ghoul related quests, like "come fly with me" And optionally 3: use console commands to get the ghoul mask from fallout 3
If you spam the button to open the pipboy when reaching Caesar's camp you can manage to open it before they talk to you, drop your spears, then pick them up again and use those to kill unnamed Caesars legion guys for more spears on those who have them.
Here's an idea I had. Can you beat Fallout as the Mysterious Stranger. I looked at armor sets for New Vegas and 3 and couldn't find a trench coat but the sheriff duster is pretty close. So only use duster and pre-war hat if in 3 or New Vegas or trench coat and fedora in 4. Only weapon in .44 magnum. If you choose New Vegas, you must acquire the mysterious magnum (by any means). Tag skills are guns (obviously) and stealth (he does appear and disappear out of nowhere). You must only attack in VATS and CANNOT take the Mysterious Stranger perk (after all, you are him).
Idea for a run(since you don't get enough, I'm sure): "Can you beat fallout if it's turn based" The idea for the challenge is that every combat, you can only do "rounds" of combat. You approach and fully use up your ap in vats in an attack (either melee or ranged), use an item (dynamite, stimpak, etc.) Or flee. Once you use your turn, the enemy gets a "turn" this is them doing something of the same effect, if they're using a gun this may be a bit difficult, and you may just wait for them to fire a few times, but if they're using melee, they get one attack, and then it's your turn again. It could definitely be interesting for having to maybe focus on Ap Regen, strength, or endurance.
Unless you know a way to turn NV into a turn based strategy game like the first 2(3 if you count Tactics), then that can't work. The AI won't just wait on you, obviously.
I think beating Fallout New Vegas as scarecrow off of batman would be nice. You would need lobotomite mask(any armor except power is fine), a death claw/yao guai gauntlet (the needle glove) the gas bombs(fear gas), and the terrifying presence perk(obvious reasons). You would help the legion because they are intimidating. No guns. Everything else is up to you.
If you still want to use your non- holdout weapons once they are confiscated in the casino you just need to break into the clerks office where you exchange your chips. To be fair, the Omertas have a guard there 24/7 so that's not exactly possible.
When entering Caesar's Camp by boat for the first time, after you have your weapons taken away, if you sneak kill the Legion member who takes your weapons away, fast travel back to Cottonwood Cove to retrieve your weapons, then return to the camp, there'll be no one to take your weapons away next time. A bit tricky to pull off considering how many Legion there are by the front gate, but I've done it plenty of times. I usually also kill the Legion guy who takes me to and from the camp sneakily so I don't have to talk to him again.
I can make land mines out of lunchboxes, armor out of lizard hides, and replicate Pre-War medicine with some produce and an empty syringe, but I can't strap a chunk of metal to a stick? Hell, Dead Money introduced the Cosmic Knife Spear, so the idea of combining a sharp object with a long object is not a Brotherhood-level technical achievement in the wasteland.

The throwing spear is more situational than the throwing spear so overall ide say go with the throwing spear
Throwing spear is great for stealth kills while throwing spear allows you to nail heads of the enemies to walls n stuff

The railway rifle did the same thing in fallout 3 2 years before, the crossbow in HL2 did the same thing 6 years before, and the harpoon gun in AVP did the same thing in 1999. It's definitely nothing ahead of its time.

Another great run, my dear Nerbit. I find your chase runs to be very entertaining, that is why I suggest another one: "Can you beat Fallout New Vegas while being chased by Maud's Muggers". Maud's Muggers are a gang of grannies you can encounter after exiting the Cerulean Robotics building if you have a Wild Wasteland trait. They initiate a dialogue with you and then become hostile, they're not hostile at first. They're a bit different from other chase challenges since there is 3 of them. The rules are basically the same as any other chase challenge other than you have to fast travel to a specific location (more likely Goodsprings, Strip north gate or any of the Freeside's gates) to make it possible.
As long as there's clips of Hells grannies from Monty Python I think that's a great idea!

awesome run!! i’m unsure if anyone else has brought this one up, but it seems emily ortal from the followers of the apocalypse will follow you if you leave the lucky 38 and try to avoid her. this happened in one of my games bc i fast traveled to nellis air force, so possibly not usable for a run, but the wiki says she will follow you and it takes up to 10 hours 🤔
Ok, hear me out: "Can You Beat Fallout: New Vegas With Only Landmines?"
Nerbit, there is another source of spears in the game: Dead Money. Every spear throwing enemy in the dlc drops five spears.
And they do double limb damage.
Except you can’t kill any of them because all of your spears are confiscated when you start the dlc

@@deansullivan4179 there are a bunch of traps in dead money. During most my runs, I even use these purposely to save what limited ammo you get in the DLC because they are all either explosive, or bear traps which takes out limbs, killing them.
@@Xahnel companions arent spears though so unless you pickpocket one from a ghost (which is near impossible) the challenge would fail right away as you cant bring spears with you into the sierra madre
@@Jhu_-cz4nj companions might not be spears, but you aren't doing the damage, either. NPC on NPC violence is out of your hands. Further, you're literally forced to take the companions through the DLC anyways to their spots. That's unavoidable, and as we all know, if the game forces it, it doesn't count.
And as the other guy said, there are plenty traps you can run a ghost in to.
Here's a challenge idea: "Can You Beat Fallout New Vegas as Pure Evil?" You have to beat the game with very evil karma, and be vilified by every faction.

Nerbit not going scorched earth on the Omertas immediately is character development that I never would have expected.
Only a temporary setback, as he was conserving his energy to annihilate them in another run. In another Alternate Timeline, the Omertas feel their spines chill for a moment as Nerbit considers another NV run.

In Fallout 4, I bet Shaun would be sad that his mom/dad died! You should “weekend at Bernie’s” the corpse all the way through the game with you until you see Shaun! Let the poor kid say goodbye properly by dragging the corpse of his dead parent across the wasteland!
Honestly I don’t even know if it’s possible, it might not work through a loading zone, but I think the idea of someone carrying a body that hovering and bobbing through the wasteland while trying to drop the body to engage in combat and then pick them up and keep going is just hilarious!
I’d pay to see someone try that!

For Raiden: must have every cybernetic enhancement (including world blues) can only use the katana or bare fists (STANDING HERE) only outfit I see that fits Raiden is any suit (if you find something that looks like his suit use it) you can get Rex (blade wolf) and you can either join yesman or NCR
For Jetstream Sam, any outfit that looks like sam's exoskeleton, only katana, just the agility upgrade (exoskeleton and double jump) but absolutely no other enhancements, start independent but join legion.
I love this idea so it would mean everything if you chose one of these!
You could also potentially wear Raul’s outfit that he gets when you complete his quest, since it has a sombrero which we know Raiden is fond of.

Hey Nerbit, I love your challenge videos. Listening to you talk about your planning is really good background noise for whenever I'm animating.
I had one idea for a challenge in any of the Fallout Games. Can you Slaughter Everyone in a Fallout Game using a unique method? Basically, everyone who dies needs a unique death. If you use the Throwing Spear to Headshot an enemy, you can't kill another enemy with a Throwing Spear Headshot. You can still kill them with a Throwing Spear, but you'd either have to blow off a different limb or just hit them until they die. Or if you use a pistol whip to kill someone, you can't use that same method to kill another enemy. You ca still shoot them to death, get a crib on their head or other limbs, but once you're out of options, time to move on to another weapon.
Can you beat Fallout 4 as an officer of the law: Baton only

Can you beat fallout NV as teddy roosevelt? The weapons restrictions would be revolvers and hunting rifles, and you have to complete the honest hearts DLC because it's a national park and he created quite a few.
Challenge idea: "Can you beat Fallout 4 with only kamikaze?" For this challenge you can only use explosive weapons (e.g. granades, fat man) and you need to stand in the blast radius of the explosion.

AWWWW YEAHHHHH I was just binge watching your Fallout and Skyrim runs for the past 2 days and was wondering when a new one would come.
Hell yeah.
I did this once, but with throwing weapons, so the knives, hatchets, and throwing axes from OWB were in the mix, too. Remarkably similar to a straight melee run, just with limited ammo. Piercing Strike is definitely a game-changer :)
Grenades count as Throwing Weapons.

I've had that slideshow glitch before, it was interesting, I ended up being able to move before it forced me to stay put, and I got to watch it at a weird angle
I have a suggestion. "How many people can be chasing me at once." The goal is to be followed by as many NPC's trying to talk to you as possible. Probably done in New Vegas since it seems to have the most pursuers. Don't necessarily need to beat the game, but the idea is that if you find someway to group all of them up (perhaps by waiting somewhere just outside their range) and triggering as many forced conversations in a row as possible.

So I'm a world ranking axe thrower, after watching a bunch of your vids, I decided to do the Axe throwing only run of FONV. I had to console command and give myself like 500 over the course of the run, and it was a blast. One thing about thrown weapons in NV is that they do not track when targets move laterally. Gotta have them coming right for you. It was a fun run, though I don't know if you could do it legit for the lack of ammo. I was murdering everyone.

After getting NV to finally actually run well, and doing a Legion play through for the first time ever, I was gonna suggest this challenge to you. But here you are, having already done it.

What does this mean?
1: you must be at the highest level of radiation poisoning at all times
2:you must do all ghoul related quests, like "come fly with me"

3: use console commands to get the ghoul mask from fallout 3

If you spam the button to open the pipboy when reaching Caesar's camp you can manage to open it before they talk to you, drop your spears, then pick them up again and use those to kill unnamed Caesars legion guys for more spears on those who have them.
Here's an idea I had. Can you beat Fallout as the Mysterious Stranger. I looked at armor sets for New Vegas and 3 and couldn't find a trench coat but the sheriff duster is pretty close. So only use duster and pre-war hat if in 3 or New Vegas or trench coat and fedora in 4. Only weapon in .44 magnum. If you choose New Vegas, you must acquire the mysterious magnum (by any means). Tag skills are guns (obviously) and stealth (he does appear and disappear out of nowhere). You must only attack in VATS and CANNOT take the Mysterious Stranger perk (after all, you are him).
This challenge could be called Fallout: Yeet Vegas with the amount of throwing.

Idea for a run(since you don't get enough, I'm sure): "Can you beat fallout if it's turn based" The idea for the challenge is that every combat, you can only do "rounds" of combat. You approach and fully use up your ap in vats in an attack (either melee or ranged), use an item (dynamite, stimpak, etc.) Or flee. Once you use your turn, the enemy gets a "turn" this is them doing something of the same effect, if they're using a gun this may be a bit difficult, and you may just wait for them to fire a few times, but if they're using melee, they get one attack, and then it's your turn again. It could definitely be interesting for having to maybe focus on Ap Regen, strength, or endurance.
Unless you know a way to turn NV into a turn based strategy game like the first 2(3 if you count Tactics), then that can't work. The AI won't just wait on you, obviously.

I think beating Fallout New Vegas as scarecrow off of batman would be nice. You would need lobotomite mask(any armor except power is fine), a death claw/yao guai gauntlet (the needle glove) the gas bombs(fear gas), and the terrifying presence perk(obvious reasons). You would help the legion because they are intimidating. No guns. Everything else is up to you.

If you still want to use your non- holdout weapons once they are confiscated in the casino you just need to break into the clerks office where you exchange your chips. To be fair, the Omertas have a guard there 24/7 so that's not exactly possible.

When entering Caesar's Camp by boat for the first time, after you have your weapons taken away, if you sneak kill the Legion member who takes your weapons away, fast travel back to Cottonwood Cove to retrieve your weapons, then return to the camp, there'll be no one to take your weapons away next time. A bit tricky to pull off considering how many Legion there are by the front gate, but I've done it plenty of times. I usually also kill the Legion guy who takes me to and from the camp sneakily so I don't have to talk to him again.
I can make land mines out of lunchboxes, armor out of lizard hides, and replicate Pre-War medicine with some produce and an empty syringe, but I can't strap a chunk of metal to a stick? Hell, Dead Money introduced the Cosmic Knife Spear, so the idea of combining a sharp object with a long object is not a Brotherhood-level technical achievement in the wasteland.
