Man I needed to here this! I have soo many circumstances against me rn which is escalating into huge amounts of self doubt. I’m constantly rapping my songs to friends looking for approval instead of dropping music and finding my niche.. on top of being scared to drop the music that would be hurt others. (Family / Friends). It’s a lot on my shoulders but now my goal is to make it to the studio by next Friday! I got 3 songs in mind that are good songs but will result in a crazy life style changes. He’s right bro you just gotta put the time in. You’ll figure out what works by learning what doesn’t work. You have the ultimate advantage rn which is TIME. Youre 16 so I’m assuming you don’t have bills, a family, etc. This is when you should be grinding your hardest
And for coming up with new flows and bars, try listening to different genres. Lots of artist say their early influences come from artists in different genres than rap. Shit uzi said he got a lot of melodies from paramore (rock). Baby Keem with Tame Impala (psychedelic pop)
