No audio..Setup homemade thread cutting unit for my Unimat 3 lathe

  • After I get a copyright complaint, I decided to delete my original video and upload again without audio...so here I show, how is working my setup for the homemade unit.
    All bushs from brass, are also homemade with this small lathe, but for the steel pins and the knurled surfaces, I used my big lathe from Knuth.
    For the steel parts, it was also my first attempt, to get a black surface, through I used the blackening methode with old motor oil.
    The two plastic gears are 40:40. I have one handwheel and one flywheel, but the ratio between the belted wheels is 40:50, 50:50 or 50:40, so you get the thread pitch 0,8 1,0 and 1,25 by changing only the belt wheels.
    I use an idler with 40 or 50 teeth for tension in the middle of the belt.
    You need two belt wheels with 40 and two belt wheels with 50 teeths.
