    Awesome!
    I think StewMac should watch this so they can adjust their kits to be better.

    Titebond 3??!! We all know Hide Glue is the tone glue. LOL...Love the build video. I've been looking at building the Stewmac kit and now I have the Gutierrez instructional video to guide me. Please keep up the great work. Your videos are my little moments of peace on Fridays. Thanks for that Man.

      I know right? I would never have thought to used Titebond 3. But I now appreciate it's qualities and am glad to have it in my arsenal. The kit is pure fun. I recommend it. Thanks for the awesome comment and kind words. Take it easy.

    For a rattle can lacquer that is awesome, take a look at behlen (*mohawk bought them) instrument toners, the starcast amber is gorgeous with just a slight shimmer underneath the amber surface. I did a burst covering the all mahogany guitar in 2 coats of amber then did their encore brown as the edge and sides. It was a dream finish for sure.

    Amazing job. I have a question, Wouldn't you get less tear out if you go counter clockwise when trimming the edge with the router?

    Nice job! I built the same kit, and decided to finish the instrument before attaching the bridge as StewMac recommends, but your way seems fine. May I ask what you used for the finish? You got a great sheen to it.

      Hi Terry. I used 100% real Tung Oil. Because it is an oil finish it doesn't require sanding between coats. That is the only reason I can think why Stew Mac glues the bridge after finish. The wipe on poly will probably offer more protection from dents and dings. But the oil finish is much quicker and easier to apply.

    Such a cool little build!
    it's worth bearing in mind that printers can introduce inaccuracies to printed digital drawings which may account for the discrepancies you encountered, when I first started work as an architectural technician, we were told to always check and recheck prints for inaccuracies, for this reason a lot of draughtsmen add a measurement scale to their drawings, and most architects give instructions that measurements taken from drawings should be checked against real world measurements. judging by your rotring eraser you probably already know all this lol!!

      Great insight into printed discrepancies. I believe some of the inaccuracies may have to do with Stew Mac's laser operation process. The cutaway for the top and back looked like they were manually cut by a person, not a machine. There was definitely something fishy there.

      @@MarkGutierrez Ah now that's interesting. Many ways to add in errors when moving from digital to real world if due care is not taken

    Nicely done. Did you buy your rubber bands from StewMac?

      They come with the kit, well 2 of them anyways. It is enough for the uke. For a full size guitar you would need more.

    Great Build!, Mark I am curius, what glue do you use to fix the freds if you dont use superglue....I am constructing one of your guitars and now I want to know why you dont use super glue for the freds...

    • @MarkGutierrez
      @MarkGutierrez  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Carlos. I use Titebond 1. It is water soluble. I mix a few drops of water with the Titebond and use a syringe to push the glue mixture into the fret slots before hammering and pressing them in. That fret process is in two or three of my my vids.

    I need a new neck for my kit but Stewmac wont answer my request. I built a suprano and gave it to my niece, she loves it. My second one, a tenor uke went together and looked beutiful. It didnt play good because the neck was tilted back. I contacted stewmac with no answer. I need a new neck.
