When some of my friends heard what I fed my dogs, they thought I'm spoiling them because I fed them good quality meat and cooked them human food without salt. My kids always ask when they see food on the stove after I cook. " Are they human food or dog food?". I say you can eat that too, but add some salt. My husband told me to feed the dogs dry food because dry food has a lot of nutrients. I answered him I'm a mum, and I know what's best for my babies😅

Last time I heard, coyotes Fox and wolves are not eating up wheat and corn fields! At least I know the chicken Turkey pork or beef and veggies I feed my dogs is clean and I could eat it myself. It’s so easy to dump kibble in a bowl. You can’t have it both ways. You care for your dog/cat as one of your family, or you don’t.

I can barely take good care of myself. I do the best I can for my two dogs and three cats. I have spent thousands on vet bills and buy them the best food I can afford. But when it comes to cooking, I barely even cook for myself. It’s a good day when I wake up at a decent time, take a shower, brush my teeth, take my meds, take care of my pets and eat something. If I can stay awake all day, that is a very good day.

I was feeding my dogs Beneful. Last week they both threw up. Within 24 hours my older baby passed away. I didn’t think it was the food but I threw it all away and bought Iams just in case. Our younger dog got better. I’m not going to be feeding her kibble anymore. I can’t prove it was the food, but she was fine and I don’t know what else it could have been.

MY daughter started feeding her Pit Bull a totally raw diet. It is a mixture of Beef with organs chicken salmon tuna eggs brown rice sweet potato blueberry squash apple green beans celery (no strings) . Carrots as a snack with pre and probiotics . I can see an amazing change in him. I was afraid of him because he had an attitude. He has killed 2 kittens when he was younger and wanted to fight other dogs. NOW, since he's been on a raw diet for about a year, he has lost weight , lives with 2 Manecoon cats and is the biggest snuggler around. Different Food, gave us a different member of the family.

I watched this video years ago in Netflix, and since then changed my dogs diet (she really belongs to my son, but…), but the important thing is we both watched the video together. So after watching the video we switched to a much healthier nutrition and feed her a brand of free grain kibbles. We have divided her daily portion in three, but she only gets kibbles twice a day. During our Dinner Time, she gets either ground meat with some veggies or chicken with rice and veggies. She is very spoiled and sits next to us when we are eating dinner. So sometimes I put some of her dinner aside and give it to her then. She is adopted, and her approximate age is either twelve, or thirteen. The only health problem she has is “ Advanced Arthrosis”, and she gets a shot for the pain once every four or six weeks. She just had a blood test taken because of a mild stomach infection, and I suspended Glucosamine but have added yoghurt to her kibbles until she is well again. My point is, that I do believe my dog is so much healthier mainly because she has a healthy diet. This movie was a great eye opener. Every pet owner needs to watch it!

I lovebthis video, this needs to be a part of veterinary practice and made standard. I noticed a huge difference with my own dog. She was on kibble for years. I then switched her when I noticed she was slowing down and was having trouble running around like she used to. I had her on a raw diet for 4 yrs she got so much better. But sadly I had my mom take over her care and she switched her back to kibble and she has gone down hill fast inx3 yrs she has greyed considerably, gotten very obese, developed severe luxating patella issues, arthritis, anal glad issues, skin allergies, and has tarter build up that needs treatment every yr despite having hard chews to chew on to scrub thw tarter off... I've had to have a serious discussion w my vet that at age 15 this might be her time...

That laminated list of what Purina food to feed for what illness... I think it's unreal that a corporation is able to get into vet schools and have their foods be treated like MEDICINE when it's just dry crunchy starch nuggets. Every time I talk to someone who has a pet with a health issue (allergy, sensitivity, joint issue, digestive issue, kidney issue, etc) their vet will give them a bag of Hills, Purina, or Vet Diet WhateverTM Food... But can't tell them WHY the food is supposed to help. These vets can't even tell us what's in the food that makes it "special", and they'll push it even when they don't know the root cause of the health issue.
    (it's usually the food!)

One simple rule I have is I won't feed my dog anything I wouldn't eat myself.
That doesn't mean gets to he eat anything and everything I eat. I mean the food needs to be fresh and fit for human consumption. Some I give him raw and some is cooked. Around 10 to 20% of each meal is a mix of vegetables (careful not to give too many carbohydrates and I also don't give him anything wheat based.).
His protein is in the majority some kind of muscle meat. I also give him offal because it is low in fat and contains a lot of vitamins, as well as being a protein source. I also feed him oily fish very lightly cooked because he doesn't seem too keen on the texture of raw fish.
I'm wary with feeding him raw chicken because it appears to be the one food that causes him gastric upsets and even makes him vomit. He has no problem with cooked chicken.
So far, he's happily eaten every type of vegetable I've tried him with.
    Bok Choy
    Snow Peas
    Cauliflower
    Broccoli
    Sweet Potato
    Carrots
    Red Peppers/Capsicum
    Pumpkin
    Mushrooms
My dog is 8mths old and I've owned him for 2mths. He was raised on kibble and some raw food, but not sure what percentage or which foods. Still giving him some kibble, but reducing the amount and introducing more fresh food.
While undeniable that a majority kibble diet is bad for canine health and longevity, I'm not convinced it needs to be totally eliminated from a dog's diet

Unfortunately we are not chemists and our homes aren’t labs. Many vets have told me to feed my dogs (6 over 67 years) dry food, but I never have. What dog would choose that! Mine eat raw beef, a good quantity dry food is available with water all day and a raw chicken neck each evening for healthy teeth. The occasional raw egg for nice coat. It’s the chewy treats that confuse me, they say no bones, cooked or raw, so they have dried beef hide usually, saves my shoes which they naturally like.

There is much truth in this vid, but it’s sensationalized - yes, corn etc shouldn’t be in dog or cat food, but saying they might use road kill etc is simply not true, they produce such a lot of pet food, there is not enough road kill that it even would make sense to collect it etc, would cost too much. And if all pet food is that bad, why today it isn’t out of the ordinary that cats live 16 years or longer, while 30, 40 years ago 12y was already old for a cat.

    • @Aimee0206
      @Aimee0206 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Agreed. They talk about how kibble companies use these diseased meats and roadkill, but that would only ever be the case with *really* poor quality kibbles. Here in the UK (or Europe in general), you're point blank not allowed to use any meats that don't come from a slaughtered source and/or don't pass inspection for human consumption under FEDIAF guidelines. In fact, there's a handful of companies that specifically only use ethically sourced and slaughtered meats as opposed to factory farmed animals.

the emotions are real and powerful. what a companion animal is worth is based on the asinine belief that non-human animals have less value than a human life, why do they? explain to me why my dog is less valuable emotionally than your kid. you actually can’t. there is a knee jerk reaction, I understand, but emotions aside you can’t logically state why my dog is less valuable. how about why is my dog valued similarly to my car or my microwave? they are worth far more to me than any appliance. I have literally not eaten to instead give my dog my food so they could eat. you can’t convince someone who does that out of love for their pet that their pet is the same as a toaster oven. btw, ceo’s greed is to blame. 3m was told their forever chemicals used in fire fighter foam (pfoa’s) caused rampant cancer and they decided to ignore it for DECADES to keep making profits. now 98% of humans have some level of pfoa’s and even polar bears do, no level of pfoa’s are considered safe and they CAUSE CANCER. ceo’s don’t care, the general public is ignorant, and as long as profits roll in ceo’s will keep making sure they get that updated yacht and new mansion at your expense and your pets expense. if they’ll do that to humans what do you think they’ll do to your pet?! and they even resort to flat out lies and misinformation and misleading information like the words used on labels to keep it that way. it’s disgusting

A customer of my father in law once wanted to have a cutting machine tested before buying it. So his company ordered a ton of meat to show the processing to the customer. Afterwards they didn't know what to do with the meat, so they asked a local petfood company if they want to have it for free. They said no, as they were not allowed to use meat of not certified origin. It ended up in a local animal shelter.

Living a long life is not always the same as living a fulfilled/healthy life. I am not saying your dogs were not healthy, as it is very possible for animals to live longer and be healthy! But in a lot of cases where dogs/cats reach really old ages they are suffering a lot from medical issues/age related diseases, which sometimes it would have been fairer to say goodbye instead of constantly medicating them just to get through another day.
Lifespan and diet is of course connected, but it's not everything. If that was the case we would see humans who eat healthy outliving all unhealthy eating people. My nan is in her 80's, have been a heavy smoker for life, has no teeth because she lives on a diet of sugar and junk food. And yet there are people who never smoked and eat a much healthier diet and they pass much younger.

But things like cooked meat, fish without the bones, cooked egg, cooked carrots, peas & potatoes are all good. When you love your pet like a child, and they die... it is like losing all the love you ever felt before, and all the love you would have had for the rest of your life. That is the price! More than they could ever give! Shame on them for sacrificing the lives of pets for profit! As all the old greedy people pass away, this craziness will end with them! Hopefully, the younger generation won't care about lining their pockets with death... Kindness, and all things good will lead them to a place of love and unity! My hat's off to the future people of the world! I will haunt you with all the love a ghost can give! Hearts for hearts!

I’ve owned 6 dogs and none of them have eaten vegetables. They eat around them or spit them out. They chew the odd blade of grass, but not much, I’ve never seen wolves or foxes eating vegetables.

You can give them the odd cooked potato to eat. Dogs are carnivores, but not obligatory carnivores like cats. So dogs are equipped to eat SOME plant matter, whereas cats cannot properly digest plant matter at all. But dogs are still not omnivores like us humans, so as carnivores they need a much more meaty diet than we do.

If you eat naturally, then most of your table scraps can be eaten by your dogs. You'll need to watch out for too much salt and the list of foods that are healthy/fine for humans but toxic for pets (such as avocado & alliums, for example), but other than that table scraps are fine.
