Joc hit the nail on the head. 30 YEARS Puff been EATING off that publishing while starving his artists out. Yea, cool he FINALLY gave them back but there was no promise the artists would be here 30 years…so how selfish is that? Some of these artists have relatives that have passed that were never able to enjoy the fruits of their loved ones labor while Puff ate and threw it in their face. Yes, they can still make money off the publishing but damn…30 years? That’s some kind of evil most don’t understand

@@TheBlk1boi you can't force ppl to use your old songs, that's up to the new artist to decide. Most old hits aren't even on the radar to be sampled or used in advertisements. Everything has a time frame for when it's reusable unless it's a timeless classic. Getting your hustle on won't always work if you get your publishing back 20-30 years later after its not hot and worth nothing. Most of these new artist are young and weren't born or even know the impact of songs when they came out. Only way it would work is if you took your old hits to a producer and paid them to do 10 different versions of each hit and then shop them out. Which in the end is a big risk, you might only lose the money invested unless u sale samples for dirt cheap. His classic car example was a bad one bc unless u get car for free or dirt cheap. You'll almost ALWAYS ALWAYS spend more on restoration than what ppl are willing to pay unless it's very rare.... aka a timeless classics the 10-20%.

I get what he is saying, but i also get what Aubrey is saying. She also would have to split her publishing, because she is in a group, where Joc is a solo act. Its unique situation to every artist. And you don't win completely either way.
