please don't stop making videos like this. I realize this is not some clickbait video that will generate a lot of ad revenue... but this is why I love this channel. A very thoughtful look at photography by a very passionate photographer. this is gold.

Fun fact, about the 200 views of Mt. Fuji, the concept of taking a singular concept and running with it over and over is kind of a thing here in Japan. Back in the Edo period, Ukiyo e artists such as Utagawa Hiroshige made 53 Stations (views) of Tokaido. The same artist in 1856-1858, famously made woodblock prints of 100 views (technically 119 prints) of Edo(later Tokyo) landmarks. I think he was planning to make more before he died in 1858. Hokusai made the famous 36 Views of Mt. Fuji woodblock prints, (the most famous of which being the Tsunami wave and Mt. Fuji print), and Tsukioka Yoshitoshi made 100 Views of the Moon (100 woodblock prints featuring the moon somewhere depicting scenes of Japanese antiquity). My Grandpa, who was a kimono maker after the WW2, even attempted to make a series of kimono prints that depicts a good luck drum as well. I think I can wholeheartedly say that Hiroshi Masuko based his 200 Views of Mt. Fuji off of this concept of collaging multiple art prints together from that timely artistic tradition here in Japan :). I suppose photos and the sets of it can be culturally influenced by historical art as well haha. Interesting video by the way! Always loved your content.

The 200 views of Mount Fuji was inspired by Hokusai's 36 views of Mount Fuji. The famous Great Wave print is one of them.

Such a lovely collection Willem, thanks for sharing. I've actually been following Hiroshi for quite some time already and always loved the playful angles he finds to include mount Fuji in photographs that don't seem to be of mount Fuji. It was a pleasant surprise to see that you also appreciate his work :)

Did my first photo book for family of my deceased father's best photographs. Kind of hooked now. Working on a a personal project book but also thinking of doing a zine or two. I have watched a lot of videos and looked at a lot of books from my personal collection but still tough to decide how best to lay them out and order the images. Guess it is a very personal creative decision and there is no right and wrong

Thank you for sharing these amazing projects with us!! I'd like to see more videos like this in the future because it's a great way to discover unique photography that I might have missed otherwise :))
On the subject of books, I'm not sure if you'll see this, but I ordered your book when it first came out and somehow never received it. Now that it's no longer available in your store, I'm not sure who to contact to find out what to do. I was overjoyed to have it, and I've been looking forward to seeing your pictures on paper for a long time, so if you could assist me in any way, I'd be extremely thankful!
Besides, thank you for all of your videos this year; I've really enjoyed watching them all and hope to see more of them in 2023!! :))
