The conference was fantastic gentleman. I do believe Dr. Gane mentioned he could pass along his slideshow presentation. Any chance that would be made available? I’d love to share with with my little group one of these weekends.
I have. It’s good up to a certain point. In one of his comments of his interviews he has claimed that Christian’s never met in synagogues…which doesn’t make sense since the NT has a lot of synagogue activity with believers.
I think that Grant’s point is that eating the “apple” isn’t what would contaminate, if even unclean animal flesh doesn’t technically defile ritually when consumed, nothing else would either. Ultimately ritual purity was important for temple participation but ultimately irrelevant in relation to a regular tea and biscuits in the living room kind of thing that we see on the Mark passage. The Leviticus 11 instructions are different than ritual purity. We aren’t instructed to avoid eating unclean animals for purity purposes, we’re just told not to eat them period, cause God says they’re gross and not for food 😂. The reality is most people in there right mind wouldn’t ever want to eat almost all unclean animals, rats, vultures, horses, dogs, cats, lizards 🤢 it’s just the poor piggies that people decided they wanna eat despite how intuitive not eating walking, oinking wet/dry shopvacs really ought to be 😂

Dr. Magness’s presentation (hope i spelled that right) was absolutely fascinating.
Speaking on synagogues have you guys caught Tom Wadsworth's videos on the early church?

Every single one of the presenters was absolutely amazing.
