    Amazing video, thanks, the prices have finally come down on the used market so I was able to pick up 4x 3850s with POE, 2x Dell R730 servers with 12c/24t 256GB RAM and 3x 1832i APs for around $750 which should be more than enough to handle everything. Looking forward to getting the SDA lab built up.

    Great Video, great content. If someone complete these 2 Labs in his home lab, he has no reason not to seat for the Lab Exam. When can we expect the next video? Any on Layer 2: switching/ STP-MSTP/ port channeling, MTU/ etc?

    This is brilliant, I've got a Dell R810 bare metal Eve-NG server for my IE studies and it's great, but lately I've been thinking about getting a UCS just for the SD-Access/Automation portion. I just dread fighting with the damn thing, all the nuances ya know, the server/images/licensing and I'm sure there's more. Its not so much the money it's more the headache of it all. I'm thinking about it now, you've planted the seed that'll keep nagging at me....thanks brah!!!!!! :) :)

    @masonreimert - Thanks for sharing this video ....
    I`m a new user in esxi and it has been a nightmare for me trying to connect every VM and CML and eve-ng.
    Now I have some tips about, how it has to be done.
    I hope to see the next video soon.
    Good job.
    Regards.

    Those spec requirements are insane. Nothing should require that.

    I just got an r640 2x8160 Platinum 48 (96) cores - 1 TB RAM - 4TB NVME hopefully I can run 99% of the IE Lab fully :).... Now either EVE-NG Baremetal or VMWARE ESXi

      You will need to install VMware ESXi as DNA Center (DNAC) now Catalyst Center can only be installed there or AWS Cloud. Your specifications are okay, as DNAC requires 256GB of reserved RAM, 3TB of SSD storage, and 32 vCPUs. For EVE-NG, you can use the same resources allocated by @Mason.Also min cpu spec is 2.1GHz

      @@leosimairi9195 Thanks ...I might just get another 4TB drive... I will try to run SDWAN, ISE, and DNAC with Edge/Border nodes plus others :/

    Mr. Sir, one question: Cisco UCS C240-M5 24SFF 2x Gold 6152 2.1GHz =44 Cores, 384GB Ram, 1TB ssd x2 Raid 1

    • @masonreimert
      @masonreimert  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No advantage to UCS, I say get whatever you can get the most cores per dollar with. I run DNAC and ISE together on 2x Intel(R) Xeon(R) Silver 4114 CPU @ 2.20GHz

      i mean can you start working in networking directly ? or the helpdesk route is mandatory ?

      My CML died(filled up the disk and then in trying to expand the disk I messed up libvert).
      I recreated the Lab last week, and got the v6 stuff working. Haven't had time to actually redo the tasks while recording yet. Doing a ton of CCIE training right now because i'm hoping to clear that exam in the coming months.
