Joe wasn't entirely wrong though. Having a blind chef is a liability. What if she runs into another sous chef carrying hot food? What if she places her hand on a hot stove?
Yes Christene was slow here but I'm a REAL kitchen, she would have had more time to familiarize herself with the kitchen and have better communication with the team. Obviously this is a pressure test kind of teamwork. They don't know each other's chemistry with cooking.

Whereas Joe who is too arrogant to see pass his own prejudice against Christine and calls her a liability. Both Gordon and Graham adamantly disagree with him, they must want to put him in the coat room. (If only they told him at the time🤣 But in all fairness Joe admitted that he was wrong after they announced the red team won. So that's an improvement.

Joe Bastianich used to have mean attitude around earlier seasons but he got soften his heart and tone down a lot since the eleventh regular season in 2021 (that was subtitled as MasterChef USA 2021: Legends).
Probs saw everyone calling him out on his pretentious douchebaggery and decided to tone down his real personality to prevent the damage to his business relations
I don't blame Joe for calling her a liability. I don't think he was trying to be mean. He was being realistic and it seemed like he was worried in his own way. And at the end he admitted he was wrong and as the show continued he stopped doubting her because she proved her capabilities despite her disability. And don't forget, he found himself relating to her in the start on how she uses visualization when she cooks as similar to when he uses it when tasting wine. It wasn't that he doubted she could cook. It was how well she would perform in such a pressuring environment. Which is understandable as she was more likely to either get hurt or accidentally hurt someone. But again, she didn't. She beat the odds and proved she was more than capable. Her team won after all ❤❤❤❤
We may not like Joe but you always need a realistic and sometimes the naysayer of the group in order to push you out of your comfort zone and prove them wrong. Worked for Gordon and his faith in Christine. At least Joe is professional enough to know his doubts were proven wrong. He grows from this experience too - don't count all your chips yet and it aint over til the fat lady sings. Go Christine! Still my favorite season - just a lot of drama!
Are these guys full time cooks professionally cuz their being expected to do so and in a kitchen that they probably dont know so familiarity also comes into question. Take seasoned cooks and they would probably be slow also if they are not familiar with their partners on the team.
Joe was absolutely realistic, SHE IS BLIND what do you expect. But therefore she allways got the opportunity to prove herself AND SHE DID. Nothing wrong wanting someone to convince you especially when your a judge
