When I had attended the High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in Philadelphia (1985-90) there was a great Choral teacher named David King. The choir sang this selection for the Wachet Auf Bach around the clock radio program and I had the unique opportunity to play the Trumpet for this great anthem! David King was a very expressive conductor and I have never heard or seen anyone to compare to his interpretation and choral musicianship. This rendition is to be commended for its sensitivity of the text and delicate phrasing. Well done! The angles will welcome you to the eternal choir!

Such a crystal-clear version of this magnificent piece! Such intonation; beautiful trumpets and organ, with phrasing impeccable from the choir. I love this stuff!

The words are from Psalm 90, in the translation from the Book of Common Prayer (1662).

Oh dear, couldn't they have re-taken that last trumpet entrance? The high A is almost a quarter step sharp. Painful. Surely if the choir had sung something that badly out of tune (they never do . . .) it wouldn't have made into the final edited mix.

Seriously. The first part of this piece is beautifully done. They should have done subsequent "takes" to get the second part right.

And parts of the second part is done at too quick a pace. What's the rush?
