    Congratulations to the boys in the band. They may have been together and touring and putting out albums for "ONLY" ten years but they created a lifetime of incredible listening pleasure and wonderful memories.

    Gentle Giant is truly the best band that has ever lived! She has created truly inspiring and wonderful music with 10 masterpieces in 11 years! All 5 are great musicians and multi-instrumentalists!
    There will probably never be a comparable band again! Thank you very much for your wonderful music! ❤️

    The band I started to listen late in 1977 thru a college colleague, quickly looked after all their past discography and since then a single week hasn’t passed without listen and acquiring their taste more and more. Gratitude for their work.

    Best deserved lifetime achievement award, because even if they played together for ten years only, they fulfilled our lifetime with the best prog music of the century 😘👏👏👏

    Well deserved, congrats. I was surprised at no mention of Gary Green, hope all is well with him and no friction with the band.

      Gary Green has been busy but has produced some controversial non PC stuff as well as some great blues up until a couple of years ago . Not sure about John Weathers , drummers tend to burn themselves out physically . The band originally included Phil Schulman , the 3rd brother his present whereabouts totally unknown . The band was a heavy influence for a great pub band called 64 Spoons who were regulars at a mates pub in Chatham , the Tam O Shanter in the late 70s early 80s, fronted by Jako Jacsyk who we got to know very well and who had himself an amazing career until recently fronting King Crimson .

    Great acceptance speech by Derek. Full of gratitude and humor and insight into what it was like to be in this ground breaking band. Compared to when Genesis was inducted into the RRHOf. Phil Collins just read a laundry list of thank yous. No insight or personal reflections. And Phil is usually a funny, upbeat guy. Very awkward. It's like they were embarrassed to be there.

      Agree with what you have said here although derek fumbled the ball and didnt acknowledge the rest of the band members. Dont get me wrong i love derek and gg is my favorite band. i think they are the greatest ever but that was kind of strange and not right.

    • @jimhardiman3836
      @jimhardiman3836 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@1359401 possibly this was deliberate since the three on stage were the main creative force of GG. But it's a shame that he didn't mention the other members.

      Phil Collins? The man who turned a terrific band into middle of the road mush? Don't get me started.....

    • @jimhardiman3836
      @jimhardiman3836 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@togfiado I don't think you can lay this all at Phil's feet. Have you heard Mike And The Mechanics? Tony Banks put out some boring pop music on his solo albums. Even Peter Gabriel's solo material is pedestrian compared to early Genesis.
