- Around 2006 I rented the BoB from Blockbuster. Wow. We back and got the rest of the DVD's. At the end series #10 that 'Frank Perconte when back to Chicago to be a postman'. Few days later I searched his name thinking, what are the chances of him being alive. Found Frank Perconte Joliet Illinois with a phone number. I called. Frank? yes Frank Perconte Band of Brothers? YES....... I was speechless. I said I'll call you back.
Day later I called him and chatted with him and said I want to take you out for lunch or dinner. I drove to his house which was about 30 miles from where I live. My only vision of 'Frank Perconte' was James Madio. I knocked and Frank opened the door. My knees weakened. The real Frank or the other way around look identical and when i went in I saw the real picture of Frank when he was in the 101st Airborne was amazing amazing amazing how they look so similar.
I took him to lunch and we chatted. Folks, I had no idea what to say. I'm never speechless. I met him at his house and took him out to lunch 4-5 times.
i asked Frank if I could bring him to my son's high school for history day. Small auditorium but jammed packed. It was in the news paper. During one visit at his house and I got comfortable asking questions. I was asking about his time at the concentration camp. He got up put the DVD in the player and walked away. He went to the bathroom went into the kitchen grabbed a couple of beers he sat down and started the DVD.
