    ABOUT LISA:
    Lisa is arguably the happiest music teacher on the planet. We can’t prove it, but we’d be willing to bet on it. With a background in classical and contemporary vocal training and a love for popular music, Lisa Witt focuses on helping her students uncover their own, unique sound and develop their voice with simple routines and tips for faster results. Her personal singing journey started filled with intimidation and fear about “singing out loud”. Lisa’s desire to find confidence led her to discover HOW her voice works (physically) and gained newfound confidence and passion to perform in her discoveries that she now shares in her lessons. Lisa is a singer-songwriter who values singing as a therapeutic release for communicating harder emotions.

    Cool video, I play piano since about 10 years and sing like half a year (solo, before I already was in a choir for some time). Since I play the piano I've tried to figure some songs out by ear, with not so great success, but since I actively sing (solo) my listening skills improved so much!
    The counting warm-up is also great with not counting like 1-2-3-... but 1-2, 1-3 for the single intervals. And I know "Joanna" as a ainging warm up with a "5-8-5-3-1"-arpeggio.

    So I have a question 1. I love this!! I was just wondering why you you refer to the last note as 8 in the first exercise instead of 1, when it's an octave apart
    If it was Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti Do, we'd go back to Do, because it's the Tonic of the scale. Would it not be the same for numbers? I don't think either way is wrong, I'm just curious to know why 8 would be used.

      I love this it's been so helpful to hear intervals! I didn't realize how helpful the sound of music is to singing haha! But for future lessons some kinda vocal fry or getting distortion/screaming would be really cool!

    Great exercise however why not use letters C/G instead of numbers. In that way you will associate the actual note with the pitch. Nice harmony training. From the film "Once" it won an Oscar for best score.

  • @shenlee2577
    @shenlee2577 ปีที่แล้ว

    what if in a melody of a song you go from mi to la descending. how would you train that? wouldnt that mess up the number sequence cause mi is 3 and la is usually 6. but if you go from mi to la descending thats a perfect fifth, so actually the interval do so do

    • @SingeoOfficial
      @SingeoOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're going from mi to la (or from 3 to 6) then you're singing a perfect fifth. If we're in the context of one key that's not changing you'd sing the solfege or numbers the way they are. If you're practicing individual intervals then you can move the Do and just sing So-Do (or 5 - 1).

    5:05 not sure what this part really mean and what she is dong with the piano. Is she pressing down ‘5’ while pressing Down the other numbers one by one along with ‘5’ to ‘hear intervals?’ What does that help with? Help 😮

    • @SingeoOfficial
      @SingeoOfficial  ปีที่แล้ว

      We're playing all the notes in relation to the 1, or the do, or the root. Each step of the scale forms an interval in relation to the 1. Hope that makes sense! 👍
