It's interesting that TingTing talked about Harbin, which is also called the Ice city. Personally, as a russian, this city is closest to me in China, I really want to visit there. It was a fishing settlement when russian settlers arrived there and its name is translated as “a place for drying fishing nets.” It was used to make a railway station on the railway under construction. For a long time this city was Russian-Chinese, as a symbol of cooperation between our countries. It’s a pity that at some point our relationship was damaged. Now it is a large thriving industrial and cultural center. Students from many countries study there, including Russia. I hope it will regain the historical status of our friendship and cooperation. 🤝

This is a brilliant idea! Mixing asmr with learning. I've been teaching myself Japanese which consists of a syllabary of characters that are, for the most part, derived from Chinese characters. Particularly Kanji. I see many similarities between the two languages. You are a wonderful teacher, JessicApple-sensei. 😉 I enjoy listening to your interesting and fun stories. I currently study Japanese as my minor in university. Chinese has always been interesting to me but I find it to be difficult, so I went with Japanese. I am already a year and a half into my studies and the characters are super fascinating to me. Like the one for people. 人 has many different pronunciations but the Chinese sound of the word in Japanese is still different despite them using the Chinese sounds. I don’t really know how to explain it well.😅
Few years ago my mom gave me some books for childs to teach some chinese. I learned to write some words. Like what were only one charachter long. It was fun. :)
