Mom would say about me” the house could burn down around you if you had your nose in a book”. My life was very dull but in books life was exciting. I lived thru Tom Sawyer and my friend flicka. I would hide in a closet and read with a flashlight.
There were times when I was in middle school I would sneak books I got from the school library into my bedroom without my family noticing and read it using the little bit of light from my nightlight 📚🛌🏮
I was the weird guest... back in the 1970's, when I was a 7 or 8 year old boy, I was playing outside with a group of friends when this girl asked me if I like roasted peanuts. I said I did. She told me her father was going to roast some, and would I like to have some. I agreed, and off we went to her house. As we walked in through the open front door, she called out "Dad, I'm here with my boyfriend!" I thought: 'Boyfriend? BOYFRIEND!' I froze, as she continued into another room. That's when I turned, and ran like hell! I wonder what they thought when they discovered I wasn't there? I hope the father didn't think she was lying or delusional. I lived around the corner from her house, but I never ever saw her again.
I love doing the book exchange thing with my mother and my father-in-law. We usually exchange a large box of books every year or two when we get to visit.
Isn’t it weird to meet up with your friend on break but then completely ignore them for a book? Like reading for even half the day makes sense but the whole day?
Hahaha, that's not weird at all, I used to go to people's houses for visit and read their books as well, not for piece though but for knowledge basically, we didn't have internet or cable back then, reading was the only source of info and not a lot of good quality books either in my home, I mean the ones we had I had literally read more than 12 times, parents weren't big on buying me new books or getting me a subscription at a library or anything.
No offence to reader but personally I don’t like reading like I’ve tried loads of books but I just can’t read a whole book without getting bored at page 20 (on average) and the most pages I’ve read as a whole is 40 pages and that was of a comic with some pages having 1-2 sentences at most so it was mainly like a 3 page book and I just never liked reading
You gave her the peace and quiet she needed desperately ❤❤❤❤

I used to do the same thing. It's why my father removed the doors from my wardrobe.

Brought me to tears ngl but it might be also from the water that’s been dripping on my head for the last 2 hours
its been 5 hours, has the water stopped yet?
@@waffles-r9t no help
@@ingilteredehayat it’s been 12 hours are you ok
So like, 12 hours since then? Has it stopped?
@Wallpaperfish I ate a whale
This is so sweet! ❤
Its not weird it was something that made her feel safe and happy.
Weird doesn't have to be negative, it just means "out of the ordinary"
So heartwarming
I had friends that did that for me and I will do the same for them. ❤

It became a private library Oasis for her
Also reading like this is a sign of high intelligence and creativity
I used to be able to do that and I MISS it. I now write them, but I long for the day of just oinking up books no matter what. I hate depression.

not rlly that weird, pretty nice and heartwarming tho
It's that hyper focus I am that way sometimes and literally tune out everything else, I can't help it. I wonder if it was the same for her.
I still keep in touch with a girl who was a year younger than me, when she was in first grade I was in second grade...

If you need a blow torch to melt the cheese on a chicken sandwich the meat is cold and not done in the middle.

And your point?
Not really something to brag about.
@ I ain’t bragging
@@Su-ri5obwhere was he bragging?
@ソックマンNo one cares? It's not your fault you don't have the imagination to enjoy books, but some of us take great pride in our libraries.
