I feel like many casual gacha gamers will be disappointed by endfield, because it is NOT an action game, but a mmo like jrpg with base building, which is absolutely awesome.
My childhood jrpg, teen mmorpg, and adult gacha experiences all rolled into one game. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out (assuming it's on mobile, no way I can build a gaming PC again without winning the lottery at this point)

Im glad this is more "Open Zone" instead of Open World. But regardless im so tired of all these boring Open World Gachas like GI or WuWa whis is filled with the same repeated boring Tasks just for your 5 Premium currency. I really prefer smaller Areas with less Collectibles and more Sidequests. Dunno if ill gonna check out Arknights. It looks great but it depends if this will be a simultanious Release on every Platform or PC/Mobile and PS5 later since i doubt my PC will handle it and i dont play Games on my Phone.
Good review, bro. Most I've seen come from people with an Arknights background so you provide a very different take. Personally coming from someone who plays all the same games -- and more, including AK from 4 years ago -- this looks like the perfect replacement for Wuthering Waves from my daily routine. I played WuWa since day one and Enfield looks to fix pretty much every problem I've had with that game: shitty character design, some of the worst writing and voice acting ever, the worst open world experience in any open world game gacha or no gacha, and shitty gear system copy pasted from Genshin just like many other of its systems. Arknights predated Genshin by over a year. They don't need to copy anything. That being said, Enfield's gacha system, though better than Mihoyo's, is still much worse than Arknights where you could get plenty of units for free, with 2% drop rates on the rarest units versus the 0.6%? 0.8%? of Enfield.
No confirmed date yet, but speculations among AK and AKE communities was the game would be released in August this year since Hypergryph (the company behind the game) got their license for this game last year.
They should stop making story with "Legendary" MC but he/she dumb now. After we successfully use the sarchopagus at the end of Endfield story to restore our memory but then we didn't get our memory back and they said our memory lost is caused by something else. bruh, REALLY? AGAIN ? Whatever the reason is, the cause of the amnesia, that is just lazy ! Sure it might work in OG Arknights but I don't want the same thing for Endfield. I prefer they focused on the story to be better than thinking and writing those notes scattered all around the map when barely anyone read it. Waste of resource tbh Hypergryph always have this habit where they put too much work on world building, they should have learn from Ex-Astris their other game, putting too much resources on world building is also not good.
One issue im feeling with this one is the gacha fine print. Not sure if im understanding it correctly since didnt get to test it but -It says something like pity doesn't carry over to next banner -And that hard pity happens only once per banner/character(idk how it works with reruns) So is it possible to not make enough currency in time for hard pity on current banner and then I start from 0 pity on the next one? I mean they seem pretty generous with pulls in the cbt but I'd rather have a proper guarantee. I guess we wont really know how viable itll be for a f2p to get every other 6*. For reference, LTO rules: at 65 pulls soft pity starts which increases rate by 5% per pull. at 120 pulls target character is guaranteed. the guarantee doesnt carry over between banners (so i guess soft pity does?) base chances for 6*, 5*, other: 0.8%, 8%, 91.2%. So at 75 pulls rate for 6* is 0.8*150%=1.2% due to 10pulls*5%=50% rate increase? Kinda seems nice, that theres no 50/50 at hard pity and its only 120 pulls but I'm not seeing any rule for "mid way to hard pity 50/50 to get target or other 6*" so in a way we get way less 6* that we might get 5* in for example wuwa. Its confusing, mby arknights players might understand it better. The rest of the systems seems great though, hopefully my phone is enough to at least do some quick factory daily maintenance.
It does say that soft pity carries over, which is the amount you have to pull until you hit the 50/50 on the 6 star. Which is from 65-80 as you said before. The only thing is that hard pity does not.
So, getting a *6 character is at 80 pity with 50% chance of you getting the character on the banner. This pity is carried over to the next banner. Now, this is a different rule. For each of every banner there is a guarantee of 120 pity to get the featured banner character. Yes, it only happens once. The second you got the featured character, the count is gone. So, the general scenario is you will get off banner *6 character at around ~80 pity, then you have to pull to guarantee 120 pity. The "kinda worst" case scenario is you could get 10 of *6 characters, but all of them would be off banner characters till you get luck to get one or to 120 pity. But what the game doesn't tell you is till the banner literally says limited character, all the character that featured on the banner will be included to standard banner/as rate off characters.
tbh it comes down to how much currency they will give. Arknights gives enough currency and the fact that dupes arent needed make it way better imo. The only downside is you get the character early and dont have enough currency for the weapon
@MefoWho Thats unlikely to be an issue. Game gives over 60 weapon pulls a month from weeklies. The majority of your weapon pulls come from that and not from character pull byproduct.
Arknights has both a pity and a spark system, and people confuse the two a lot because it's not how other gachas do it. The spark is that if you have not gotten the rate-up by pull 120 of its banner, you will get it on pull 120. That's all there is to it, not overly complicated. The pity works like most other gachas - there is a soft pity starting at 65 with increased chance of a 6*, then a hard pity at 80 that guarantees a 6*, with 50/50 applying. Pulls for this will carry over to the next banner. Most characters are not limited and can spook you in failed 50/50s in the future. What most people don't get with AK is that losing a 50/50 often still gives you something really good, because in other games the "Standard" characters that are mostly useless. Here it's all just banner characters. If you have at least 120 pulls before going for any character you will do fine with this system. I would not randomly do pulls hoping to get super lucky. AK players are used to this - we get a lot of pulls but save up, then go hard on banners we like. It's a different system with different rules, and needs a different strategy is all.
honestly my only complaint so far with endfield is how much the designs stray away from the original arknights' designs, it all feels a lot less like arknights' usual style and much more generic, avywenna i feel is the best example of this, comparing her to a character like pepe, narantuya, yu or blaze alter she feels like shes from a different franchise altogether
@noupo i was pulling up recent designs for fairness, avy looks honestly terrible if you compare her to savage's more organized and balanced design, its fine if you think otherwise, but these cluttered designs with no actual meaning that endfield has makes the game as a whole feel more generic and less like actual arknights
@@maryla9497 yea, I can see the arrow thingy on her design as clutters, but other than that she's just wearing armor, light armor probably. Another OP that looks cluttered is Ember and she wears armor too. It's probably because of the shift from 2D to 3D, looking at both Avy and Ember 2D art, they don't look too bad. But the 3D model tho, you can see the depth of the miscellaneous thing on their armor, so it looks cluttered.
