I just watched the recent TV interview with “the girls” and arrived here to rewatch the original Popstars series again, as I saw it when it first aired. I think that the band members might be surprised how many people were hoping that they would do well and who still look back on their achievements and talent with a lot of pride and continuing support. Popstars broke new ground that emerged, later, in some overseas TV shows. But it was a New Zealand production, with New Zealand singers, who were following in the footsteps of many other very talented Kiwi singers and musicians. And NZ TV productions that showed local talent, like Happen Inn, C’Mon, Let’s Go, Ready to Roll, New Faces, Studio One etc. Seeing the group smiling and happy, recalling their individual and collective journeys is heartwarming. The pride that we had back in the early days continues. It was not misplaced. 👍😎🇳🇿✨🌹
That footage of B*Witched at St Lukes, I was there!! I got crushed by the crowd and had to be rescued lmao. This was such a nostalgic watch, gonna end up watching the entire series now I guess haha.
So enjoyed watching this, bought back so many wonderful memories. Lovely seeing Zara in the mix (who would later be part of duo Deep Obsession), also Nicolette, who would go on to release tracks Blue Day & Harden Up.
