Reminds me of an animated character from my childhood, Tobor the 8th Man. He was also a robot who was disguised as a human detective. It was a B&W Japanese cartoon from the early sixties, kind of like Astro Boy or Prince Planet. Maybe you could do videos on that Tobor! How cool would THAT be!

I love watching those old black & white sci-fi moves. I play them EVERY weekend. I’ll be outside doing some work while the movies play on the TV in the garage. I often walk by a see a scene, then sit down and watch a few minutes of it )while sitting in front of a fan to cool off)…then go do some more chores, then sit down again, repeat and repeat. Love those days…

For me, there are two movies that stand above the rest when it comes to science fiction in the 1950s: "The Day The Earth Stood Still" and "Forbidden Planet". Both, in my opinion, still stand up quite well today.

“Day” especially for me continues to hold up exceedingly well because it’s not an invasion story, but instead carries a warning from an interstellar emissary. Also, Bernard Herrmann’s score too is still very enjoyable to listen to.

So, you continue to garner my full adoring attention. Great production qualities which also move foreword accordingly.
I do enjoy these nuggets of nostalgia and their place in media history. Great job on the Abbey Road episode. A nod to your piece on Starlog magazine. Mentioning Cinefex was also rewarding.
If you ever consider doing a piece on David Allen, I suggest you arrange an interview with Charles Band (Full Moon Pictures). He was a friend and collaborator. David worked on several of Bands productions including "Laser Blast" and the "Puppet Master" series. Many of Band's characters really came to life through the hands of Allen's stop-motion animation, kind of setting a new take on vintage horror films of the 50's through the late 70's.
You already likely might know that David Allen was mentored by Ray Harryhausen himself.
    Carry on team.

Saw this as an old rerun on WGN when I was a kid in the 80s and loved it. This along with Robbie, B9 and the Colossus of New York were my favorite scifi robots.

Funny, I never saw that movie. Guess it never made it to creature feature or mystery theater 2000. Thanks
