The new paintings are nice and make the wither one by Jeb stand out less, but it would be great if they could get Zetterstrand on board to make some too, or at least if they made more paintings by taking real photos and scaling them down like he did.
The oozing change is just to prevent having lets say 100 mobs in a pit, kill them to get 200 slimes which split to 400 slimes. With the change it will only spawn the slimes up to the entity cramming count. Of cause when they get out to a larger area or killed before the other oozing mobs die, this doesn't apply. I think it's mainly to prevent accidentally getting way too many mobs.
The slime pot isnt a nerf at all, the farms will just be a bit bulkier. The snowball change for silverfish though is a massive nerf, as the only popular purpose for that potion ive seen so far is to spawn tons of silverfish to turn into slimes, and the easiest way to do that was to get a bunch of snow golems to fire at a zombie. Frankly, i wish theyd nerfed slimes more and left the silverfish alone.
Surprised you didn't mention the Mace nerf with the wind burst enchantment, it no longer works when you just jump and crit, you have to fall further to activate it!
i hope they fix the bug where buttons (such as sliders or the recipe book) remain selected after initial click before 1.21 because otherwise it would be the 2nd major update this bug lives in (first one being 1.20)
5:30 max entity cramming is a game rule, by default I believe it's 24. I believe the text suggests that if there are already 24 slimes in a 5x5x5 area then it won't spawn any more. When you change the max entity cramming the max amount of slimes will change too.

From the snapshot changes, it sounds like they're just using the value stored for the maxEntityCramming gamerule for this new 5x5x5 area check when spawning oozing slimes.
Another amazing snapshot video! I'm actually looking forward to the 1.21 update this year considerably more than last year. Seen as Mojang is adding some new potion effects and enchantments, I was wondering what the community (and you Xisuma) would think if they added these: Curse of Vanquish - any items or drops received from a player breaking a block or killing an entity isn't granted, except for experience. Knowledge (I, II, III) - applied to tools and weapons (except ranged weapons) Amplifies the players experience gain by 5% per level when holding the tool. Potion of Warping - brewed by utilising a chorus fruit and a mundane potion. Causes the affected entity to have a 10% chance to randomly teleport 2-3 blocks in the immediate area when struck by an attack Potion of Freezing - instantly applies the max level freezing effect to the entities hit by it for a short duration, converting any skeletons into strays and turning nearby water source blocks into ice. Brewed by utilising Ice and a Mundane Potion. For the new curses potions too, it would be amazing if they used the Mundane potion or Thick Potion variants to give them uses too! It would make them useful 🥰
Knowledge in that current state is insanely busted, but it could have some form of caveat like extra damage received when active or some other negative potion effect
Yeah, the numbers on all stats are of course tweakable and can only be balanced through testing. I do agree 10% is quite a lot haha, halved it a little bit to 15% total (5% per level) Any lower and I feel like the enchantment would become obsolete or unnecessary :0
I think the opportunity to make a slime farm without slime chunks or a swamp is incredible, bedrock edition will really benefit from this feature. (As chunk borders aren't accessible without external resources)
@@n0vanox it takes a few seconds. If you’re not willing to spend a few seconds to calculate chunk boundaries, you wouldn’t be willing to spend a few hours building a slime farm.
the slimes clip out of the walls because the creepers die while pushed up against a wall and spawn medium slimes. the medium slimes don't check for collisions and have a bigger hitbox so they just spawn inside the walls. this was present in the previous snapshot as well and doesn't have anything to do with the change.
With all the recent technical datapack changes, i would love for them to add custom keybinds to datapacks since it will add a lot of new content opportunities to custom maps and servers.
I think with the Introduction of the armadillo scutes and it’s uses, I feel they should give the scutes same qualities to turtles as well, so you can make wolf armour with turtle scutes. It just would add more variety meaning players would have another way of making armour for their wolves.
X, small suggestion. When referring to 1.20.5 it might be better to say "one point twenty point five". I cringe a bit every time I hear you say "one point twenty five". I love watching your snapshot videos thought so keep them coming.
Ironic that the achievement is called REvaulting, when the whole point of a vault is that they can only be opened once… actually now that I think about it, that’s a fairly good pun! It is probably not going to be your first time opening a vault in that chamber, as it’s an ominous one, and to get a key for it you need to take on mobs that spawn slimes, cobwebs, and silverfish upon death or being damaged, which could all be considered “revolting” things

I think the slime nerf is actually kind of a buff cos it means you can separate the slimes from the other mobs. It will make the farm bigger tho which is a fair nerf
That slime farm idea is a godsend and I no longer have to dig a chunk just to make a slime farm. I can now reuse found mob spawners and repurpose it as a semi afk slime farm and exp farm at the same time.

The ooze and infested potions really should be changed to % chance to spawn after death. Damage is so abusable, the rates are actually absurd. You don't even need to make a mob farm, because you can create a simple witch damage potion setup and get a bunch of undead in a 1x1 with a ladder/vine and put a magma block underneath them.
I recently thought of a use for the heavy core in its block form. It allows you to make a player kill creeper farm without the risk of them destroying it. This may also work for mob head farms if the core doesn't block entity damage from the explosion.
It stinks that the wind burst got nerfed, I feel like they should make wind burst have its old abilities at level III or make a level IV for it that keeps it
The sad part is that the wind burst effect working with normal attacks was supposedly a bug (MC-269980), but should totally work as one of the "bug-features" from minecraft. Dang it SeaOfPixels (the reporter of the "bug") :/

I would give all mobs spawned from an ominous trial spawned (it’s called something like that, when it has the blue flames) either strength I or II just for fun.
My only problem with the Trial Chambers is that it completely devalues copper. Unless the devs add an effect to where if you are within 5 blocks of a trial chamber, you cannot break blocks. I have a feeling that people will also try to circumvent any and all traps and completely cheese the trial chambers just by digging through the walls

7:12 I liked the mace before, I don't think it needed to have it's power buffed by enchantments (I don't have a problem with mending and unbreaking), and I specially don't like the balancing by making it rarer. Specially if there is a server with PvP, where one player might get it and another player might need to go in hundreds of trial chambers widout getting one. Unless maybe they allow players to open the vaults multiple times.
Can they please fix the movement keys on bedrock they changed them with no way to change them back and since I’m legally blind it’s messing with me severely but not just me everyone I know as well and I literally cannot swim at all

That's just a regular arrow spawned in by the ominous vault. Those vaults can drop quite a few projectiles, not just those lingering potions! The change he mentioned to the lingering potions also applies to the other projectiles. I don't remember most of the other projectiles that spawn, but I know one of them is an xp bottle.
not sure why they're making the actual major update have less content, it seems like they're shooting themselves in the foot when it comes to marketing. surely adding the new wolves and armadillos in the major update would be great for marketing, those would be massive for a lot of the casual audience, especially the dogs. would really help to sell the new update imo

They need to have cool downs on vaults. They removed that like 2 snapshots ago and you just accumulate SO many keys and there's no point in doing the trails after the first time if all you get is keys you can't use.
if i remember correctly, baby wolves will inherit their variant from one of the parents. the biome only affects wolves that spawn naturally or from spawn eggs...maybe commands too, but you might be able to specify a variant with those.

you can also divide your x and y coords by 16 and if its divisible to a whole number, that indicates one side of the chunk

Not just that. The change makes slimes spawn in a 5x5 centered on the mob instead of just on the mob.

The heavy core should have a different piston push limit. maybe pistons can only push one or two of them

No clue why wind burst was nerfed, but Breaching of all things wasn't. Armor is literally made pointless because of it.

The Wind Burst enchantment currently has a bug that only allows it to activate with a smash attack, as opposed to any attack.
Actually, the bug was it triggering with every attack. It only triggering with smash attacks is the intended behaviour.

I'm still quite curious why 1.20.5 is released when the 1.21 features are almost done? Is it because there's more content on its way or is it simply because of bug fixes?
Please make the ultimate slime farm in the nether when you create a automated wither skeleton farm that makes withers then entity crams them after splashing them with the oozing potion 😂
Just make the oozing spawn slimes that don't have drops.
the slime potion change is dumb, just open a hole outside that 5x5x5 and build a slime farm/collector and you have the slime farm back
With 1.20.5 and 1.21 being mixed together over the last few months, any chance you can make a video covering all the changes in 1.20.5? I am completely lost as to what exactly is and isn’t in this update, and I bet I’m not the only one. You can of course wait until the full release, but thanks in advance.

1.20.5 is just armadillo, wolves and wolf armour.
Everything you see with the trial chambers is locked under an experimental toggle for 1.21
