I am not Afican-American, and I certainly see his point about how this is directed to Black men, but as a caucasian, I learned a great deal about human realtions. This is very brilliant information. Thank you very much for posting. This is helpful for any man in my humble opinion.

This is a incredible message that will make some mad, and others insightful as to responsibility and the core values that we sometimes have trouble upholding. I can still remember working with the Bishop in Austin in the early years.

Thank you Roland for this...man Bishop Jakes you are a spiritual father. I honor you and respect you so much words can't express how you have helped me and a host of men black, white, hispanic etc...thru difficult times. Your kids are truly blessed to have a father and a covering like you. I pray that God will forever keep you and allow you to live in good health and wealth. Im a father of 2 girls and my prayer is that i can follow in your steps of how to become a great father. God Bless Bishop

Then men who are experiencing this drama need to go to COURT and execute their rights! Too easy.....ditch the excuses

There are many reasons why men are not in their children's lives; most of the time it is the woman's fault. She drives the man away and slaps him with child support. Why should she share the children if she is getting child support? The average woman uses the children as bargaining pawns. If you want to get fathers in children's lives, force women to share the children and get rid of family courts. Stop chastising the men.

The unfortunate reality in the black community most due to broken homes were never taught proper courting skills...it's key to never have a child with a person you can't build a future with hence y there is so many broken homes...a lot of ppl having fun but fun has consequences which can include a child with someone you can't reason with

That is NOT true. Wome are contrary, if they think you want to see your child they won't let you, if they think you DON'tT want to see your child they will complain that you don't and try to push him on you in front of people.
