  • Six months after the Clippers’ front office put together a large production to woo Blake Griffin to sign a five-year deal worth $171 million, they traded him to the Detroit Pistons. Blake walks us through how events unfolded, from a faux jersey retirement ceremony to awkwardness from the Clippers’ GM and eventually learning of his next NBA stop via a tweet from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Yup I was barely becoming a fan of the NBA when he started blowing up and I gravitated to the clippers because of Blake Griffins hype and made the games exciting for a crappy franchise. He got fans to go watch games and pay attention to the nearly dead franchise. Helps that the new owner is a billionaire and investing heavily to grow the franchise and love his enthusiasm for his team.

Blake Griffin is what Chris Bosh wants to be. The NBA star who also is great on talk shows and seen as a cool celebrity.

The guy is on a large market championship team that is the favorite to win an NBA title. He has a net worth of over 100 million dollars. Roll the credits, it sounds like a happy ending to me.

This guy turned into a joke talk about hitting a brick wall he never worked on this game to get better then after he hit the trainer they understood this guys has problems and it’s not gonna go anywhere and it was a waste of money he could’ve been one of the greatest players if he love the game of basketball and worked on his craft but he didn’t

the guy who couldnt do anything outside the restricted area as a rookie and went on to become a point forward who could handle, pass and shoot from all 3 levels didnt work on his craft??? just say you asked him for an autograph and he turned you down 😂 no need to lie about his game

@@matttheknicksfan you said it best. OP literally makes zero sense if he actually watched basketball in the last 10 years. Blake improved dramatically from the paint position to a skillful level in shooting, passing & all around bball. I honestly don’t get how some people on these types of threads feel their points are completely valid without knowing much if anything on said topic. Lol not everyone can be as dominant as MJ, Lebron, Shaq, Hakeem, Barkley, etc for their literal entire career. There’s a reason those guys are legends. Not everyone is a top 10 all timer. People think everyone could have been great if this happened, if that, etc when in reality, it seems VERY hard to sustain as high of levels throughout a career. Injuries are unfortunate, limitations suck but that doesn’t mean people don’t work. Lol
