    I'm thinking about getting isopods. Thank you for this helpful video.

    Nice video. I like these. I keep them and love watching them as they are so active and eat so much. I love anything that eats well. Also I have Magic Potions which are great too but the dairy cows are more fun to be honest

    Nice little spotlight on an attractive morph. My first isopods were P. laevis "Orange". Fortunately the numbers have stayed manageable, still had to give some away though :-)
    Interestingly they've become more visible over the months - I used to have to spy on them at night with a tiny torch shone through coloured plastic!

      Thanks, they are fantastic I love all isopods great little things. Some of my species go through stages of being visible and hiding.

    What are those little tiny white bugs crawling around with the Isopods?

    • @IncredibleInvertsOtherAnimals
      @IncredibleInvertsOtherAnimals  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Those are Springtails, they help keep enclosures clean as they eat waste and mould. They are often used in bio active set ups along with Isopods and other invertebrates.

      Yeah these breed very fast, in terms of space isopods tend to prefer being cramped, so if you only add a couple that will help

    I was told they r good for bioactive enclosures to keep your tarantula cages clean along with spring tails so my question is are these guys more protein driven or wat

    • @IncredibleInvertsOtherAnimals
      @IncredibleInvertsOtherAnimals  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey thanks for watching, yeah this species is protein hungry so I wouldn't use in bioactive invert enclosures I use armadillidium species for invert bioactive

      @@IncredibleInvertsOtherAnimals ok cool cause I have them in with an adult tarantula I was told they only pose a threat to small babies but I think I will take them out

    I started out with 30 dairy cows last month, in a shoe box size container.
    I just ordered 100 more. So that will be about 130 dairy cows. Would you put 130 in a shoe box size bin? Put 130 in a bigger bin? Or divide them evenly into several bins?

    • @IncredibleInvertsOtherAnimals
      @IncredibleInvertsOtherAnimals  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's awesome they are fantastic. I would try them in your current enclosure and if they look cramped then either increase the size or divide in to multiple enclosures. Just bear in mind that they can breed very quickly so whatever to put them in they may soon fill it.

    • @IncredibleInvertsOtherAnimals
      @IncredibleInvertsOtherAnimals  ปีที่แล้ว

      As long as the isopod don't overpopulate then you'll be OK and make sure you give them a protein source. I do sell some which I've bred myself but only at the shows

    Hello, i was just wondering if they can live in coco coir alne wit the leaf litter and cork?

    • @IncredibleInvertsOtherAnimals
      @IncredibleInvertsOtherAnimals  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't recommend coco fibre/coir for isopods as it doesn't really give them anything, for mine I use top soil with some organic compost leaf mulch and rotted wood mixed in
