Amazing! I would love to know more about your approach. I primarily play by ear myself and was wondering if you used your ear or written music to work from.

Thanks a lot for your interest. I also play primarily by ear. I use a software called "Transcribe!" to slow down the songs, that I want to learn and to filter out the guitar track in the mix if possible, which can sometimes be difficult with heavier bands, depending on the mix.
Then I usually try to check on youtube, if the things I assume the guitar player is playing are correct, by watching live videos of the song, if they are available.
