This is ridiculous how these people are scamming so many people! These dolls are never less than $100! Silicone starts over $1,000 and up to well over 15,000!
I'm glad to see news on this. There are SO many scams out there and when you're starting off in this hobby, it's not always immediately known what to look for and what to avoid. I'm a newbie myself, but I know that quality BLANK kits tend to cost a lot more than $50. Painted skin, rooted hair, the works for $50?? Uh ah. This video just shows how important it is to do a little research before spending a dime, so thank you for it!
I am a reborn artist and supplies alone cost up to $200 they are not cheap to make and def are not play dolls. Scammers have def been getting out of controll but its uo ri the buyer to really do the research. Usually us artist have actual nursery pages or TH-cam. Make sure to read review etc
I feel so bad for people falling for this scam but you need to understand that these dolls are not cheap. I'm a collector and I own Viny reborn that I've paid 250.00 to 600.00 for . The woman got what she paid for.

The prices that they listed for silicone and vinyl dolls in this are going tolead more people to be scammed if people believe this. A booboo vinyl costs $150-200. A silicone doll that is $200 is going to be a few inches tall at most. The kits alone for a full sized silicone are $600-700
Now they are spreading misinformation. 😞 The amounts for the silicone are right but the vinyl babies are at least $150 and up!! Not $50 and below. That is a definite scam then.
That info on the report is actually WRONG. Vinyl is not like plastic. Vinyl kits start at usually around $100 a kit and the dolls usually are around $150 and up once completed. Silicone dolls are usually anywhere from $300-$3000+ Depending on the type of silicone used and the dolls size and if its painted or blank.
i bought my toddler Hanami from Paradise Gallery She has a birth certificate a blanket a teether . she was cute untill after 5 months .Paradise Gallery .I thought well they well known for dolls. I was so disapointed .I payed 170.$ and .$ 42 for the shipping from quebec to my home. Her skin is getting full big brown spots Now her little feet and toes are full brown spots its from inside of her body has too. I am really disapointed i thought paradise gallery was a good honest place to buy dolls.i bought her nice little dresses but they way its going .she will end up put away cause she is getting more and more of those brown spots.
My cheapest reborn was 300 dollars. So please do your research because these dolls are not cheap. I would suggest if you want a realistic doll ,but can’t afford an actual reborn check out Ashton and drake or Paradise Galleries. My first doll was a Paradise Galleries Happy Teddy I still have her and it’s been almost nine years
I'm so glad I didn't buy one of these for my daughter. Instead I went through a reborn artist through Facebook and I paid $300 but it was worth it. The beautiful reborn I received is as real as can be without being an actual baby. I've had people look at my daughter crazy when she walks into a restaurant carrying her reborn doll. Once a waitress asked if it was a doll and told us how all her coworkers were concerned when the baby was put on a table lol. If you are truly wanting a reborn doll I highly recommend finding an actual artist and do not buy from a website. It sucks people get scammed and then the real artists that sell quality dolls are looked at as scam artists when in reality they are selling exactly what you're looking for.

I never win so I just bought one outright. They are so lifelike its crazy

A $125 kit (head arms legs) add a body $15, mohair that was obviously hand rooted $10 at the very least. You can get that 12" version of the kit from Ali express for $20. The eyes another $10. Then painted and weighted. As angry as I get when I see the word silicone vinyl together being used to sell dolls I still get very upset with these people who expect to get a silicone doll for the price of a vinylKIT. This buyer knew enough to be looking forward to getting a soft silicone doll. What I'm getting at is she knows what silicone is and she knows how much it should have cost it was indeed silicone. And who buys a collector doll for toddler?
It's sad. The blank kits alone can cost more then that doll. Just always remember you can't get a reborn doll for $50.00. best to find a fb community that can give you some advice if your not sure. Have to make sure it's a safe fb page too because scammers are in there too
Well your not going to get a silicone, let alone a reborn by spending $50. You can get good deals on babies but that was way too good to be true. Think non-doll collectors or ppl who don’t know much about reborns think that’s the right pricing because there is no specific way to purchase a reborn. If you want a realistic baby doll than save about 3-$400 to get you a good quality, amazingly painted and weighted newborn- toddler baby and your good to go. All depends if you want to collect or only have 1 forever baby like me
There is a lady in Jamestown that makes reborn babies she uses real human hair n depending on what u want she makes em out of vinyl or silicon I bought one from her n was very pleased and she's not expensive at all I don't know her name but I got on Facebook n searched reborn babydoll and that is how I found her
Yeah I paid $300 for a real reborn doll. The ones on websites are not worth the money. I know a lady in Facebook that makes ans sells the real reborn dolls and ships them with tracking info to you. I'm so glad I spent the extra money and got what I wanted for my daughter. People have got to realize real reborn dolls are expensive because the material is not cheap and the artist makes them into a Beautiful doll that is as close to a real babybas possible.
Vinyl dolls are far more expensive than 50 dollars and below, I make vinyl reborns...the kits are more expensive than 50 dollars. I live in Europe and a cheap reborn kit (without paint and hair) is at least 60 and most are over 100 euro....Ive never seen a silicone for 200 and they can go up to 20 thousand and even more. Cheap dolls like that, the ones you can buy at wal-mart are 50 and below. This scam is out of China and the addresses that they use in the US are fake. They steal legitimate artists pictures and use them to sell these crappy toy dolls...still imo this doll would be better suited for her little niece. Art, reborn dolls, are not for babies to play with.
This is a knock off Saskia kit she’s the most replicated sculpt from the artist Bonnie Brown. I am now a reborn doll collector but I was scammed by one of these sites. I didn’t realize I as buying fake dolls at $90. These Saskia reborns go from about $400 to over $1,000 when painted well by an artist. I now have 2 of these authentic sculpts and they were both over $700 each.
I don't know what dollar store she shops at, but that doll is about 1000 times better then anything that I have ever seen for sale in any dollar store! I also don't get why she is going to take the doll to the daycare she works at instead of using it for the original stated purpose which was to get it for her niece when she visits. Most normal American little girls would be thrilled with that doll if they like dolls. Because despite it not being as advertised and despite her assertion it's on par with dollar store merch, it's NOT. It's still fairly realistic and for most little girls it would be looked at as amazing! To be honest, the price she paid isn't really that far off of the going rate at say Amazon for a comparable doll! She aught to try to contact the bank and explain the situation because it's a scam and she tried to deal with it in good faith they may do a charge back! That's what I would do, and then I would be stoked that I ended up wirh a doll for free to give to my niece that still makes her really happy and is still above average comparatively speaking to others in the same price range. I would say it's definitely a lesson learned and now she knows to temper her expectations when it comes ro dolls, lol!
Those sites are a scam! You need to find an actual artist or collector to buy from. I did buy a more realistic doll, on the less expensive side, from Paradise Galleries. They are legit. A real reborn, that would be truly realistic would cost at least $400.

Buy the unpainted doll kits and paint/make your own with your child/niece/nephew, etc. A starter doll kit is under $100 and it comes with unpainted head, both arms, both legs, and body to stuff. You can make these dolls into male/female/human/fantasy/alien doll/any race/nationality, etc. If you buy 2 of the same unpainted kits then they can be made into twins (mm,mf,ff). My 2 unpainted ones just arrived today and I’m doing m/f twins. Another alternative just came out called a “cuddle baby” which is a fully fabric body and you just need to purchase unpainted head. You paint the head and attach it, then your child has a real soft baby to carrry around and sleep with.

The crazy thing about seeing this news clip is that they show the website that the lady used, and guess what?! The website is still up and even shows up on TH-cam as an ad for reborn dolls when you search for reborn or silicone dolls on TH-cam!!!! I went to the website just a few days ago thinking that it was a scam because I had enough sense to know that those baby dolls are not that cheap ever! TH-cam should get in trouble for allowing them to advertise on their app!!! People who don’t know any better will get scammed again and again by that company.
I know a resident of mine who purchased a reborn doll from one of the sites she only paid $59 and she has never received it. It’s almost a year now. When I ask her she says it’s custom-made so it’s gonna take a long time

I'm a reborn doll artist and there are silicone reborns and there are vinyl reborns but the vinyl reborns are absolutely nothing like what she got, vinal reborns are the most popular because they're half the price of a silicone doll and the vinyl dolls are extremely life-like and cuddly. This community is being destroyed by these scammers mostly because the scammers usually copy legitimate vinyl doll parts so the sculptor who created the base vinyl kit is getting ripped off and not paid for their work and any artist who is willing to paint the scam dolls is not part of the reborn community
I’ve never seen a legit reborn for less than £120 gbp, and that’s for a second hand lesser known artists work. A new reborn will start at £290 and keep going up. New collectors may not be aware that your not going to get a quality doll for 34.99 usd. Be careful ppl x

The Saskia doll seems to get scammed the most. That lady got a fake Saskia that looks like a Walmart doll. If do buy one make sure it’s from Amazon and always check reviews. If u do get a crap doll Amazon WILL refund u. And there is no such thing as a vinyl silicone doll! If they say vinyl silicone in reality it will only be vinyl
I have a reborn. A good reborn costs money and the scammers are jerks. I got mine on Etsy. He is Levi sculpt. He cost $430 (including email). He has a vinyl/silicone arms, legs and head and a cloth body. Hes also floppy like a newborn. He is gorgeous. People think he's real if I take him with me. He has a CoA as well
I was tempted to buy one until I read the reviews! Good thing I did. I also read the reviews before I buy collector-made dvds. I warn the collectors I buy dvds from about the bad ones. It's not right that buyers are ignored on both counts. Even the more reputable companies have been ripping people off, according to some of the complaint websites!
This is such a incorrect info. Hard plastic is cheap like that doll. Vinyl is soft to touch, usually have soft cuddly cloth bodies. Can range from £200 all the way up to several thousand, varies hugely on the artist. Silicone is a very delicate material, floppy, soft and incredibly life like. £1000 for a low quality or boo boo. Decent silicones are £3000 upwards, all the way up to £20000. These are all different materials, vinyl can be done amazingly by a good artist! Also please don’t give these scam dolls to anyone. They are illegal copies made in unregulated factories and have been found to contain harmful phenols.
McPherson does have kitsfor mini collectibles/playdolls as well. they are priced from 34 and up to 59 dollars. both mini versions of the bigger very known dolls, and others.mini babies and mini toddlers.these dolla re between 10" to 11" long and have bigger heads and more doll like body shapes. dont find it weird that first time buyers can believe they maybe have ordered one mini playdoll from mcpherson, but in reality they have gotten a bad copy from illegal market. Ex Annika by Marita Winters comes as a mini toddler with a chance to choose between bent or strait legs. 11 " Many of the mini kits are by Marita Winters, and of course a new rebornbuyer dont always see red flags, cause the scammers use stolen fotos and also are very good at copying. A loophole in the buissiness also when it comes to copyright, is that the copyright states that its legal as long as its not totally identical in the face. and arms and legs are never a copyright to.so if they only change one good detail..its no longer a crime according to copyright policy. also...that a doll is made in china..is no scam proof, cause many very known brands are in fact made in china and sold all over the world. many items are made in china. that doesnt ecual scam or bad quality due to production country. no wonder its easy to lure buyers for them...cause that loophole. and no need to go further than the legal market to see how dolls can look very much alike but still aint the same doll. Unfortunately we as artist have been seeing a lot of these scammers coming out. We advise to order from a reliable artist and many questions and even safety photos. We advise to watch out photoshops. Please do your research who you are buying from.

I experienced the same thing…not knowing that the company that I got a doll from were scammers. I ordered what I thought was a genuine “Saskia” doll was nothing but. When I opened the box, the arms were attached but the legs weren’t. And there was a huge dent on top of the doll’s head. I paid the same as I would with a REAL doll. The company would NOT give my money back. They said 30 days or your money back…..they lied about that. It was within that 30 days that I contacted them. Ughhh.
I got my daughter 4 reborns off Amazon and been pleased. You get what you pay for. No they don't look and feel 100%. I getting my daughter another for easter. She loved them. I wish I could get her an actual reborn but scared of spending 100s (and that for the cheaper reborns) and getting scammed. For $50 you fr shouldn't expect it to look 100% real. Tips. Read review, make sure there are pictures of the babies on the review, and if you can try to find the babies on TH-cam. Those are how I figured out what babies to get off Amazon. TH-cam actually helped a lot.
I'm a reborn artist, there are many scammers and fake reborn websites. If the price seems to good to be true.... than a warning bell should go off! As a artist, just to get a blank kit depending if limited edition and from the sculptor artist can be expensive, then you add the time and materials that we use to give life to our creations, the costs adds up. There are many artist that are willing to work out payment plans to give the opportunity to the buyer to have their doll of their dreams. Be careful, do your research.

There are lot of reborn scammers I have personly had two and I wish that they would just stop! Because most people are getting them for kids and it is not ok at all because the kids will probably cry and so will the parents so I wish that these people know that they are making little kids cry and I hope this makes them stop!
I just ordered this same doll a couple of months ago. They make it seems like you're getting a big baby doll in fact your not. I was very disappointed when the small little doll arrived at my door. How ever I have grown to like her as she fits in with my bigger Ashtion Drake doll she is called Zoe. How ever have Learned my lesson on ordering and getting scammed. There is a lady in Jamestown that makes reborn babies she uses real human hair n depending on what u want she makes em out of vinyl or silicon I bought one from her n was very pleased and she's not expensive at all I don't know her name but I got on Facebook n searched reborn babydoll and that is how I found her
Those are scammer sites. A real reborn is costly not cheap like those imitation dolls. They steal the sculpt from artists.

Yeah I paid $300 for a real reborn doll. The ones on websites are not worth the money. I know a lady in Facebook that makes ans sells the real reborn dolls and ships them with tracking info to you. I'm so glad I spent the extra money and got what I wanted for my daughter. People have got to realize real reborn dolls are expensive because the material is not cheap and the artist makes them into a Beautiful doll that is as close to a real babybas possible.
I make reborns so I had to laugh 😅 when she said she paid $50 , no way a reborn will be that cheap since it cost a lot on money making them.

Vinyl dolls are far more expensive than 50 dollars and below, I make vinyl reborns...the kits are more expensive than 50 dollars. I live in Europe and a cheap reborn kit (without paint and hair) is at least 60 and most are over 100 euro....Ive never seen a silicone for 200 and they can go up to 20 thousand and even more.
Cheap dolls like that, the ones you can buy at wal-mart are 50 and below. This scam is out of China and the addresses that they use in the US are fake. They steal legitimate artists pictures and use them to sell these crappy toy dolls...still imo this doll would be better suited for her little niece. Art, reborn dolls, are not for babies to play with.
This is a knock off Saskia kit she’s the most replicated sculpt from the artist Bonnie Brown. I am now a reborn doll collector but I was scammed by one of these sites. I didn’t realize I as buying fake dolls at $90. These Saskia reborns go from about $400 to over $1,000 when painted well by an artist. I now have 2 of these authentic sculpts and they were both over $700 each.
I don't know what dollar store she shops at, but that doll is about 1000 times better then anything that I have ever seen for sale in any dollar store! I also don't get why she is going to take the doll to the daycare she works at instead of using it for the original stated purpose which was to get it for her niece when she visits. Most normal American little girls would be thrilled with that doll if they like dolls. Because despite it not being as advertised and despite her assertion it's on par with dollar store merch, it's NOT. It's still fairly realistic and for most little girls it would be looked at as amazing! To be honest, the price she paid isn't really that far off of the going rate at say Amazon for a comparable doll! She aught to try to contact the bank and explain the situation because it's a scam and she tried to deal with it in good faith they may do a charge back! That's what I would do, and then I would be stoked that I ended up wirh a doll for free to give to my niece that still makes her really happy and is still above average comparatively speaking to others in the same price range. I would say it's definitely a lesson learned and now she knows to temper her expectations when it comes ro dolls, lol!

I did buy a more realistic doll, on the less expensive side, from Paradise Galleries. They are legit. A real reborn, that would be truly realistic would cost at least $400.

Most reborns sells for 300 and up the scam sites use stolen photos of the artist work to sell cheaply made dolls like the one this lady bought.

The least I paid for a reborn was $1250 US dollars. The silicone dolls I love are all over $10,000 so I'll never own one.

Buy the unpainted doll kits and paint/make your own with your child/niece/nephew, etc. A starter doll kit is under $100 and it comes with unpainted head, both arms, both legs, and body to stuff. You can make these dolls into male/female/human/fantasy/alien doll/any race/nationality, etc. If you buy 2 of the same unpainted kits then they can be made into twins (mm,mf,ff). My 2 unpainted ones just arrived today and I’m doing m/f twins. Another alternative just came out called a “cuddle baby” which is a fully fabric body and you just need to purchase unpainted head. You paint the head and attach it, then your child has a real soft baby to carrry around and sleep with.
...and an ugly one because I can't paint and neither can my 5 year old granddaughter 🙄

The crazy thing about seeing this news clip is that they show the website that the lady used, and guess what?! The website is still up and even shows up on TH-cam as an ad for reborn dolls when you search for reborn or silicone dolls on TH-cam!!!! I went to the website just a few days ago thinking that it was a scam because I had enough sense to know that those baby dolls are not that cheap ever! TH-cam should get in trouble for allowing them to advertise on their app!!! People who don’t know any better will get scammed again and again by that company.

I'm a reborn doll artist and there are silicone reborns and there are vinyl reborns but the vinyl reborns are absolutely nothing like what she got, vinal reborns are the most popular because they're half the price of a silicone doll and the vinyl dolls are extremely life-like and cuddly. This community is being destroyed by these scammers mostly because the scammers usually copy legitimate vinyl doll parts so the sculptor who created the base vinyl kit is getting ripped off and not paid for their work and any artist who is willing to paint the scam dolls is not part of the reborn community
I've reborned dolls and the amount of time and cost of materials cost way more than $40. I saw dolls sell for $10,000.

The Saskia doll seems to get scammed the most. That lady got a fake Saskia that looks like a Walmart doll. If do buy one make sure it’s from Amazon and always check reviews. If u do get a crap doll Amazon WILL refund u. And there is no such thing as a vinyl silicone doll! If they say vinyl silicone in reality it will only be vinyl
I have a reborn. A good reborn costs money and the scammers are jerks. I got mine on Etsy. He is Levi sculpt. He cost $430 (including email). He has a vinyl/silicone arms, legs and head and a cloth body. Hes also floppy like a newborn. He is gorgeous. People think he's real if I take him with me. He has a CoA as well

I was tempted to buy one until I read the reviews! Good thing I did. I also read the reviews before I buy collector-made dvds. I warn the collectors I buy dvds from about the bad ones. It's not right that buyers are ignored on both counts.
Even the more reputable companies have been ripping people off, according to some of the complaint websites!

Vinyl is soft to touch, usually have soft cuddly cloth bodies. Can range from £200 all the way up to several thousand, varies hugely on the artist.
Silicone is a very delicate material, floppy, soft and incredibly life like.
£1000 for a low quality or boo boo.
Decent silicones are £3000 upwards, all the way up to £20000.
These are all different materials, vinyl can be done amazingly by a good artist!
Also please don’t give these scam dolls to anyone. They are illegal copies made in unregulated factories and have been found to contain harmful phenols.
McPherson does have kitsfor mini collectibles/playdolls as well. they are priced from 34 and up to 59 dollars. both mini versions of the bigger very known dolls, and others.mini babies and mini toddlers.these dolla re between 10" to 11" long and have bigger heads and more doll like body shapes. dont find it weird that first time buyers can believe they maybe have ordered one mini playdoll from mcpherson, but in reality they have gotten a bad copy from illegal market.
Ex Annika by Marita Winters comes as a mini toddler with a chance to choose between bent or strait legs. 11 " Many of the mini kits are by Marita Winters, and of course a new rebornbuyer dont always see red flags, cause the scammers use stolen fotos and also are very good at copying. A loophole in the buissiness also when it comes to copyright, is that the copyright states that its legal as long as its not totally identical in the face. and arms and legs are never a copyright to.so if they only change one good detail..its no longer a crime according to copyright policy.
also...that a doll is made in china..is no scam proof, cause many very known brands are in fact made in china and sold all over the world. many items are made in china. that doesnt ecual scam or bad quality due to production country.

Unfortunately we as artist have been seeing a lot of these scammers coming out. We advise to order from a reliable artist and many questions and even safety photos. We advise to watch out photoshops. Please do your research who you are buying from.

Came across her website and called her number and she actually picked and she's super sweet and she answers your questions about her dolls....she also has a youtube called KINDERLAND DOLLS that's her instagram and website name also....

I experienced the same thing…not knowing that the company that I got a doll from were scammers. I ordered what I thought was a genuine “Saskia” doll was nothing but. When I opened the box, the arms were attached but the legs weren’t. And there was a huge dent on top of the doll’s head. I paid the same as I would with a REAL doll. The company would NOT give my money back. They said 30 days or your money back…..they lied about that. It was within that 30 days that I contacted them. Ughhh.

I got my daughter 4 reborns off Amazon and been pleased. You get what you pay for. No they don't look and feel 100%. I getting my daughter another for easter. She loved them. I wish I could get her an actual reborn but scared of spending 100s (and that for the cheaper reborns) and getting scammed. For $50 you fr shouldn't expect it to look 100% real.
Tips. Read review, make sure there are pictures of the babies on the review, and if you can try to find the babies on TH-cam. Those are how I figured out what babies to get off Amazon. TH-cam actually helped a lot.
If it’s too good to be true, it is!!!!! Most of those sites are scams. Makes it hard for us artists to be trusted.

I'm a reborn artist, there are many scammers and fake reborn websites. If the price seems to good to be true.... than a warning bell should go off! As a artist, just to get a blank kit depending if limited edition and from the sculptor artist can be expensive, then you add the time and materials that we use to give life to our creations, the costs adds up. There are many artist that are willing to work out payment plans to give the opportunity to the buyer to have their doll of their dreams. Be careful, do your research.

There are lot of reborn scammers I have personly had two and I wish that they would just stop! Because most people are getting them for kids and it is not ok at all because the kids will probably cry and so will the parents so I wish that these people know that they are making little kids cry and I hope this makes them stop!

I just ordered this same doll a couple of months ago. They make it seems like you're getting a big baby doll in fact your not. I was very disappointed when the small little doll arrived at my door. How ever I have grown to like her as she fits in with my bigger Ashtion Drake doll she is called Zoe. How ever have Learned my lesson on ordering and getting scammed. The woman being scammed is not funny but the new cast men’s description is still incorrect. I’ve been a reborn artist since 2013. Prices start anywhere from $250 and more. The more skilled the artist the higher the price as well as the quality of the art doll you’ll receive.
